When it comes to money many say it's the love of it that is wrong... but my question is: why did Jesus call it unrighteous mammon? Lk 16:9

In any case, I suggest not mixing unrelated topics.

I don't think it is a mixing of topics. I think it brings up a good question. If we have money for this, then why not money for that. It brings up many good questions.  And it is my thread I can derail it if I want too so there.

Well anyway, it was just a thought. It is not like it is ever going to happen. But I wonder what impact it would have on society. If more households had a stay at home parent. I think these are all good things to think about. Nothing wrong with thinking. :26:

But it use to not be that way. It use to be perfectly acceptable for one parent to stay home and care for the family while the other one works. So what happen? Why have basic life things become so expensive that two people in a household have to both work? Children have to be put off or just dont have any. Or make it sometimes else's job to care for them or leve them on their own.

peoples wants got a lot larger....  People got into the interest trap by doing the buy it now pay later thing....   with interest to the credit cards companies and banks.  Houses got bigger and nicer and people spent more than they could afford with only one person working.....          I saw a house on the market here last week that sold for $38,000.     and the house behind ours sold three years ago for $10,000.  The people fixed it up rather nicely....  I think it's is a matter of what people want out of life at younger ages....   Education also plays a roll in things now days....   we are told you have to have a college education to get along but that usually goes along with a very large student loan package....

Our culture has changed because people want more at earlier ages...     Computers, big screen tv's $35,000 cars and $50,000 trucks, X-boxes, cable, all kinds of movie channels and cell phones...            we just have a lot more to buy than when one person worked..   And from watching friends and family the more we give kids the more the next generation expects...   and we have a generation going on now that a large number don't seem to want to work at all.

I know people who are coming out of college with a couple of hundred thousand dollars of student loan and ten to twenty thousand of credit card debt.....    one person working to live and the spouse working to pay off debts that don't seem to ever get paid off.

Each and every time we raise taxes, It will slowly out-price the midfle class. Because they raise prices each and every time we vote to raise taxes.

They will never raise taxes, And not also raise prices.

Middle income wages, in the mean time,

Remain stagnant. Their income doesn't go up. $38 dollar, x, $38, x, $38, Over time, adds up to $114.

They will never not raise prices, If we choose to raise taxes on ourselves.

Also, Not all of these bills are clear.

Which 3 hospitals ? For how long, and when does it start ? How is this going to help me, If i don't get an increase of the same amount, Or under that of $38, and more like $17....... Sometimes $2 ! ! ! !

Every time people vote to raise taxes, it's a vote to raise prices,

And the math doesn't add up.

The poor, and people on social security, Will not make up the difference in their tiny increase each year, Which was $0, for the span of 3 years during and between 2008-20015.

The middle wage workers, don't rise in comparison either.

We need to stop voting to raise taxes on ourselves, and unless we are disabled,

Take care of ourselves.

Raising it on so-called, "rich people", Causes them to leave the country, And not be able to pay their employees.

Tax increases, And relying on, And thinking the government is supposed to take care of you,

Instead of your own church,

And own family, Is what is raising prices.

People are supposed to have their own families,

To help take care of them,

and go to church for extra help,.And have a church family to help out sometimes. We are suppose to have private,

And small entities in our communities.

We are not supposed to be putting our faith in government, Unless absolutely necessary.

Nd trust me, If you have to,..........

If you ever have to,................

It is brutal,.And not easy ! ! ! ! ! ! !

We need to stop, Raising taxes and giving our money over to government.

They will turn around, And raise everything else, even higher.

While our wages remain stagnant.

Gb...........

I quoted the whole above post, just so I can say that I pretty much, if not entirely, agree with that. I quoted it, in case it is edited to contains something I would not agree with. I would point out, that it is seldom that we vote to raise taxes. We sometimes express that we would be okay with raising taxes, but mostly we vote people into office that we know will raise taxes, and we generally are aware that these people will raise taxes for things we might not agree to.

I often think that taxes are raised against our will, and when that is done, it can morally amount to legalized theft of property.

So I was thinking like I do from time to time.  With parents having to choose between staying at home to take care of their kids. Or go to work. What if the Gov paid one parent to stay home while the other parent worked? Like say they will pay one parent $1000.00 a month to be a stay at home parent as long as the other parent was working out side the home. Let say they would do this until the child is say 16 years old. What do you think?   Would this work? :noidea:

I can't imagine the government doing this.

I can't neither. It was my idea and not the gov. Government don't listen to me no matter how good my ideas are. Maybe I should run for office. I have lots of ideas on how to make this a better place.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
