As I've written elsewhere, @John Robinson, this world is filled with the works of Satan because the evil one has dominion over the nations of this earth. Until he is bound during the 1,000 year kingdom, this will continue apace. I can only encourage you to never weary of doing good. A light in the darkness isn't hidden away in a closet; the light is placed so that the many who are lost in this present darkness will know that Christ Jesus was sent by our Father in heaven. Be that light for them, John. :)

I never engage in politics on Christian forums i honestly dont know why a political section would exist on a christian forum.

Perhaps because at the moment, Christians live on earth, not in heaven. We are in the world, just not of the world. We note that Paul said that to avoid sinners, we would have to leave earth. Since that is not a realistic option, perhaps many feel that the bast way to be a good citizen, is to occupy the world that God created for us, until His return. We are supposed to be about putting God first, others second, and ourselves last.

One way to put God first is to do what He told us to do, love others. One way to love other, probably THE way to love others, is to do what benefits them most. One thing that benefits others, is to educated them in many areas that affect our lives. Another way, is to seek their physical well being. Whether things like welfare (from government) is a good thing or not, is something we might want to consider. Do things affect freedom of speech and freedom to pursue the exercise of our religion fall into the categories of what is good for people. Are things like abortion and child pornography, matters that concern God and should concern us? Those are not just moral questions, those are things which are affected by political decisions.

It then follows, that we can either ignore them in a political way, or we can do things like vote, educate, learn, and even run for office. So politics on a forum is there, so that people have a choice to be informed, or can remain ignorant of these things. I think political information is valuable, and I can think of no better place for political discussion, than among Christians who want to be the best they can be for the glory of God, and want to do His will by seeking His will in human affairs.

For thousands of years this point in time has been coming.  Gods way and purpose shall be fulfilled.  Instead of listening to the chatter of the world, listen to the Word of God. REMEMBER WHO IS CONTROL.

John 17:13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have My joy fulfilled in themselves.

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Daniel 4:34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation

Daniel 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing and He doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth and No one can stay His hand, or say unto Him, What doest thou?

Daniel 4:36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellers and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

This is the knowledge that keeps our peace.  GOD IS IN CONTROL.  This time MUST be for the eternal heaven and earth to be without evil.  It is but a short time and a little price we pay for an eternal life  so wonderful we can't even imagine.  It is easy to forget and to get directed away from the Word because it is where peace is found, not to mention the armor we so desparately need now.

Romans 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Romans 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Romans 9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew MY power in thee, and that MY name might be declared throughout all the earth.

Romans 9:18 Therefore hath He mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom He will he hardeneth.

Romans 9:19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted His will?

We know the times, we are living in the days of sorrow if not further than that.

This isn't a slam on this site, nor on (most) of the people who post here, but I think my time here on Worthy is drawing to a close.

Don't ask me why, but the closer we get to this election, the more my spirit is getting disquieted. It's almost like I can feel the war going on the heavens, not just over America, but the entire world.

And at a time like this, when Christians should be pulling together, there are people here who are openly cheering political candidates that champion every dark practice the Bible condemns.

Am I oversensitive to this? Maybe. Probably. But as I approach my seventh decade, the idea of my having to pick up my gun and fight for this nation once more holds no appeal. But as I said, I've done it before, and if required, I'll do it again.

In the meantime, I'm weaning myself from most social media for the foreseeable future.

Peace

I dont' feel much like talking either.  It might be that this is 'Babylon's' time for judgment.......she has been found wanting and is going to be divided, said the writing on the wall.  It reminds me of how the final kingdom will be a divided kingdom....two legs, and toes being a mixture of iron and clay that don't cleave together.  But we need to not worry too much about the what happens to the kingdoms of the world, because our citizenship is in heaven, not in this fallen world.  Pray for people and weep with those who weep, and help where we can, for sure....but we don't need to fear, for Jesus has overcome the world.  Keep our eyes on Jesus and follow Him and He will navigate us through.  Our mandate as Christians doesn't change at all, it remains what it always has been, to go into all the world and make disciples of Christ, as well as be readying ourselves for His return....this stays the same, regardless of what is going on in the circumstances around us.  And in Babylon's judgment we read where the Lord sets His people free of her clutches, worldliness, idolatries, etc, to return to Him and rebuild His fallen temple, I believe we can be encouraged in that.

and I'm disillusioned with Americans, Christians or not cheering for the destruction of our nation.....     and if people are not a bit afraid of the situation I would say that they really don't understand what's happening.

I hope you get things sorted to your liking John. It would be a shame to see you go. I am relatively new so we haven't met.

I can only speak for myself here. What happens to me is information overload. I sense that maybe you have felt this in referring to social media.

Sometimes I need to simply pull away and pray. Get with God. If anything this whole COVID thing has put millions of people front and center to computers, TVs, smart phones more now than ever before. I can almost hear satan and his cronies saying, " We have them right where we want them now".

Sometimes when I disconnect, go out back and simply look at the sky. Go anywhere really to stay away from the devices.

We all have these buttons that can be pushed. I can relate to the political button. This is exactly what satan wants. Division, war....anything that disturbs a peaceful existence.

People will disagree about almost anything. Ok people will disagree about ANYTHING. The nature of politics in this country is a very real reflection of where people are. We are no longer a Christian nation IMHO. Sure we have the facade, sure there are plenty of christians but are we a christian nation? I don't think so.

There has been a fork in the road for awhile now. Both ends of the fork are labeled as christian. One is quasi christian, the other is truly christian. During an election year unfortunately whatever label wins an election will be used by said politicians. I have a few FB friends who won't leave it alone. I haven't unfriended them, but I have chosen not to engage them because number one it's pointless to do so. I have a vote, they have a vote.

Things often get very bad to worse before they get better. This is the way I see events presently. I'm no prophet or great teacher. Just a casual observer who tries to regularly read and study the scriptures. Right before it rains we see rain clouds. In the end it doesn't matter what anyone says or thinks. God will have his way in the end. I'm just thankful He lets me follow Him and He has promised to save me in the end!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
