Well, I don't agree obviously. Since everything was reportedly wiped out in the Flood, we have others saying that some actually did survive the Flood. I guess I could buy that, since I don't hold to a global Flood. As I said to Saved, I'm not sure why my speculation is somehow liberal or revisionist without further clarification. It's nothing I've particularly read about, just something that came across my mind. Maybe it was just the way I stated it?

Indeed. The Nephilim reappeared after the flood, establishing themselves in the world known to the Hebrew authors of scripture. I share your understanding of that passage, my friend. What do the Nephilim represent in the sight of Almighty God?

A detestable abomination, the progeny of angels (often referred to as "stars" in scripture) who left their first estate expounded upon in the Book of Enoch and referred to in Genesis and elsewhere in the canon of our day. We understand Israel of old as a type of the eternal Israel of God, His holy nation purchased from the foundation of the world just as the Lamb Himself was slain from the foundation of the world. The names of His holy nation are written in the Lamb's book of life (Rev. 13:8).

As Israel of old waged war against the Nephilim, so we wage war against powers of darkness and spiritual wickedness, those angels whom Satan cast down to the earth.

Because there is no place for the Nephilim in God's creation their spirits wander the earth after the destruction of their fleshly bodies, seeking vessels to inhabit. These are referred to as evil spirits... unclean spirits... or demons/devils to the Greeks and Hellenized Jews of the latter second temple period. These are reserved for everlasting fire on the day of the Lord, referenced in the following passage of scripture:

And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. (Matthew 8:28-32 KJV)

Genesis 6:4 - The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. [NASB]

From this passage it is clear the Nephilim survived the Flood, so there must be something special about them.  A search of the scriptures confirms this.  Many people ignore this passage because it doesn't fit their preconceived ideas.  They cannot grasp what they cannot see.

I question the "euphemism" and wonder why people don't just look at what the Bible says.

The giants have perished by the Noah deluge,

Please watch this worthy youtube video explaining the origin of the socalled "giants" after the flood with proven lineage from the Bible :

When Adam and Eve lived there were many other "people".

Adam and Eve were the first 2 human souls.

The human souls were designed to be saved by the blood of Jesus and have a special place in heaven.

Other people, "almost human souls", were there but not in the covenant with Adam and Eve.

------

When the flood came all the human souls perished.

The earth that Noah knew was destroyed.

But many people survived and came to settle with Noah at the tower of Babel.

It is just a different view from the traditional scriptures.

The Bible is about Jesus and the human souls.

It does not focus on the almost human souls so the dialog leaves them mostly absent.

The viewpoint that there were not any other people is lacking.

The understanding that there were other people with Adam and after the flood of Noah survivors answers many confusing questions.

There is also a recent commentary on 1 Enoch which I have but it's not at my fingertips.  When the Canon was collected, some books were added and some were rejected for various reasons.

Yeah that's an interesting subject too. How they determined which books were inspired and which were not? Reading 1 Enoch it's pretty obvious there's errors and inconsistencies compared to our inspired Canon.

I'm in agreement with you on most points but what follows is a brief compilation of scripture from the New Testament which either quotes from the Book of Enoch, or relates to content therein. Quotes from Enoch are derived from the Ethiopic translation. To save space and avoid a wall of text I'll list verses of scripture which are in agreement with the corresponding text from the Book of Enoch.

The last passage from Enoch speaks of Christ.

********************************
Jude 1:14-15
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Enoch 2:1-2
Behold, he comes with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon them, and destroy the wicked, and reprove all the carnal for everything which the sinful and ungodly have done, and committed against him.
*********************************

Enoch 9:2-3
The earth deprived of her children has cried even to the gate of heaven. And now to you, O you holy one of heaven, the souls of men complain, saying, Obtain Justice for us with the Most High. Then they said to their Lord, the King, You are Lord of lords, God of gods, King of kings The throne of your glory is for ever and ever, and for ever and ever is your name sanctified and glorified. You are blessed and glorified.

1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 17:14, Revelation 19:16.
**********************************

Enoch 9:9-12
Thus has the whole earth been filled with blood and with iniquity. And now behold the souls of those who are dead, cry out. And complain even to the gate of heaven. Their groaning ascends; nor can they escape from the unrighteousness which is committed on earth. You know all things, before they exist.

Revelation 6:9-10, Romans 8:21-23
***********************************

Enoch 19:6-7
But you (Angels) from the beginning were made spiritual, possessing a life which is eternal, and not subject to death for ever. Therefore I made not wives for you, (The Angels) because, being spiritual, your dwelling is in heaven.

Matthew 22:29-30
**********************************

Enoch 46:1-3
There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was and why he accompanied the Ancient of days. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness.
**********************************

Food for thought concerning what is inspired and what isn't. :)

You got it  :D

These giants were just members of other local tribes who intermarried with the human souls in the covenant who were Jehovah worshipers.

The sons of God took women from these tribes which mixed with their DNA.

The world of that time was thought to be primitive and undeveloped.

But it seems that just the project of building an ark of the size and toughness that was built implies roads, tools, villages/cities, agriculture, weapons, planning, and experience.

These souls were not "cave people".

The world of Noah's day may have developed to a point where it was almost comparable to our modern sciences and way of life in many ways.

----------

The idea the Adam and Eve were without other people and that nobody else survived the flood are centuries old and outdated.

Before the 17th century people didn't have the sciences to know the history of those times.

The histories don't prove the Bible wrong,

It just shows that those theories are not perfect.

Are we all "speculating like mad"?

I am undecided about the flood being global or regional.

I reject the EUPHEMISM that Ham slept with Noah's wife because of the actions Shem and Japheth did to correct things, and the fact that Ham and Noah's wife were not killed for the action.

I can't argue that; but we can use logic, reasoning and speculation along with scripture to postulate. We know for certain from scripture that Ham did something to his father, and Canaan bore the curse of whatever it was. The Law was not coming for some time yet:

Romans 4:15 (KJV) Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

It's not important to the narrative or point but, scripture is silent about Noah's last 250 years on earth. Just something I thought about?

OK - the LAW wasn't come yet - but still, we have Shem and Japheth acting to cover Noah's nakedness without looking at him -  as to why Canaan gets the curse, I dunno

That other people besides Adam and Eve were on earth is seen in that Cain says "everybody who says me will kill me" and he gets a MARK so that wont happem

also Cain gets a wife, whether that is a sister or not

I await the videos

all of this is non-essential stuff

1 Enoch 1-36 Volume 1 is a commentary or companion book written by Dr. Michael S. Heiser to help the reader better understand the book of Enoch.  Heiser corrects the errors in translation and reconciles it with the Bible.  Since Heiser's book was written in 2020 and is volume 1, I suspect there will be future volumes coming, if the Lord tarries.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
