The actual fact is that God doesn't care a hoot about politics and elections.  He is the one who sets up one person and puts down another, and it has nothing to do with prophecies for or against any person.  God is no respecter of persons.  He does everything according to His own plans and purposes.   The problem with fellows dreaming up prophecies is that God does not tell people in advance what He is doing, especially self-appointed "prophets to the nation" which were originally limited to the nation of Israel and who passed into history when the New Covenant came into being.

The reason for the prophecy of Agabus in Acts about the famine, was to alert the Christian community to store up food and take up collections for those most affected by it.  His prophecy was for the body of Christ and did not involve the political climate of the time.

All of the "prophecies for the nation" are lies generated by a spirit of divination, and those who give them are infused with that spirit, and those who believe and receive them are spiritually corrupted by the same spirit.   Therefore, genuine believers need to protect themselves by totally renouncing every such prophecy and pleading the blood of Jesus against any spiritual of divination that comes with them.

You perhaps do not know that the United States was founded as a Christian nation. Prayer was an integral part of the Constitutional Convention, and immediately after George Washington was inaugurated, he led everyone across the street to a church, for them to pray to God for the nation. The Supreme Court has ruled many times in the past that America is a Christian nation, as late as the 1940s. Then the U.N. was founded and its General Assembly established in NYC, and since then America's Christian heritage has been systematically stripped away, mostly by the courts. Obama completed the coup when he went to Egypt shortly after his election, and there proclaimed to a Muslim audience, with Moslem Brotherhood leaders seated prominently in front at Obama's insistence, that "America is not a Christian nation."

I do not know about other countries, but in the U.S., slander is spoken, not written. Also, it has to be false, and the accusation has to be harmful, those things are not in evidence yet. Also, we also have exclusions and typically cut people slack if they are in the public eye, like celebrities and especially politicians.

This plays out all the time, every year, in news reports and campaign ads, so no, almost zero chance of jail for something that has not happened, is not illegal. I seriously doubt that "Revelation Man" is on his birth certificate, so who would they charge?

Not a specific mark of true Christians, but church attendance back then was something like 10%.

Just because man says that a nation is a `Christian nation,` does NOT make it so. There is NO such thing as a Christian nation. I have started a thread on this topic and be good to discuss together.

It was good that those who put together a constitution for America used their voice to write in God`s values. Also good that different leaders in the past upheld some or all of those values. However that is just a voice for righteousness and it is up to the individual to accept or reject God. 

The structure of the government (speaking concerning the USA) is still man`s system, which Satan has sway over. 

I`ll leave it there as all who are interested can speak on the other thread of that topic.
