Hello Peter, can you explain what John 3:5 means please.

Jesus was talking to Nicodemus.

Jesus answered .I tell you the truth,no-one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

We are all born of water. It is mostly what our bodies are. Jesus was saying we need the spirit to enter in to everlasting life.

We were called in him. (Romans 8:29-30)
We were made alive with him. (Colossians 2:13)
We were baptized into him. (Romans 6:3)
We were reconciled in him. (Romans 5:10)
We were redeemed by him. (1 Peter 1:18-19)
We were justified in him. (Romans 3:24)
We were made righteous in him. (Romans 5:16-18)
We were sanctified in him. (1 Corinthians 6:11)
We were glorified in him. (Romans 8:30)

I see you ignored the passage I gave you.  Is it because you refuse to accept correction?  Here is it again.

1 Corinthians 1:14-18

I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name.  Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas.  Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other.  For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.

Only God baptizes with the Holy Spirit, so any other baptism is by water.

I did not ignore anything. Perhaps you did not like my reply and therefore could not see it. Water is not mentioned. It appears Paul is saying Christ did not send him to be concerned with water. From the habit of tradition, and only for a short period of time, a small handful of people were baptized with water into the New Testament, but never again afterwards.

If it means nothing, why would Jesus tells people to be baptized?  People cannot baptize anyone with the Holy Spirit, only water.  God is the only one who can baptize with the Holy Spirit.  Not sure where you are getting your theology from, but it really needs to be set beside scripture to see if it is true or of man.

Jesus was talking to the Jews. Christian doctrine had not yet happened since Jesus had not yet been resurrected. You keep quoiting Old Testament or Gospel data.

Just a word of caution Peter. It could happen accidentally.

Why do you find this hard to understand?

Because it is wrong.

Jesus is referring to water baptism. Jesus is not saying unless a man is born and alive then he must be born again.

Obviously it goes without saying that only living people can repent and believe in Jesus as their Saviour.

water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism go together and are referred to later in the NT as one baptism > one way of doing things > one faith

I and others present scripture verses clearly indicating that water baptism is what the author is writing of and all you can do is skip over and push the play button on your tape recorder.

You are truly a person with a paper bag over your head.

Waggles, if you do not mind, I think you might want to dial it back a little...

I am quite sure you realize there are hundreds of millions of Christians that do not subscribe to your beliefs...

It would be terrific if we all saw and interpreted the Scriptures in exactly the same way... but that will never happen.

Whether our beliefs originate from early childhood and from repetition and constant reinforcing of those doctrines, or from a lifetime of our own searching and interpretations, we can not “go to war”, if you will over our belief and understanding of the Scriptures.

Heck, the RCC murdered and tortured tens of millions in the name of Christ to those who dare disagree with their doctrine.

Just my thoughts and, again if you do not mind, take ONE verse that supports your understanding of water baptism and share your thoughts on it and what it is saying to you... stay on this ONE verse until BOTH sides hear each other’s position...

Best wishes, Charlie

My replies are very good if you can see the Christ. If you want to see men and how they clean up themselves? Then for you I make no sense because I teach Christ and you teach yourself.

You are putting Jesus in a very small box with your theology.  Do you think His words were not meant for all who are His?  Tell me, do you think scripture from Acts to Revelations are the only part of the Bible meant for today?

Cherry picking scripture to fit your theology is a sure sign of weakness and/or false teaching.  Water baptism is mentioned in other verses, which you are ignoring.  My question to you is why are you ignoring scripture that does speak of water baptism that the Apostles did perform?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
