This is one of those things I pray for that I feel kind of guilty about.  I don't want to seem like an ingrate because I already have many blessings.

I'm hoping to have a nice house to bring a wife home to, and the income to support a family.

Those are nice goals, something I'm sure everyone desires.  If your desire was for a bigger TV, expensive car, extravagant vacation, or a better standard in society so you can mingle with the rich, then I'd suggest first to be content where you are, but your goal is just to have a nice family life, one without too many needs.  Just remember the difference between a need and a want.

God has a plan for your life. We can not use God as a genie who will give us everything we desire. If we have a roof over our head and food to eat we are blessed.

Those don't seem like unreasonable requests to me.

Many years back, I also had similar thoughts. That changed the more I read the truth, God's word.
Then I read; " The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much"

And there's many more God would have us know.  But beware the codicil.  Your motivation, your walk.
It has to be in faith, believing. This is what (I) learned, and believe. God wants to bless you.
***The best blessings are not often monetary***

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”

“’Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘I tell you the truth. If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.”

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Of if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

If you pray for God's will in your life it will be the best it can be. Ever

God know what you need, God knows what you want, and God knows what is best for you, trust in God.

@Sower reminded me of some some lyrics from the 80's

You don't need money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden and it's hard* sometimes
But it might just save your life
That's the power of love

*changed one word to fit better ;)

I pray this as well. Just to move into a decent place with my son.

A verse that may be helpful

James 4

15Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.”

its ok to pray for it...its also ok to work for it...as long as you dont let it come between you and God. Set goals, and find a way to get there. If your current job isnt paying enough, either find a higher paying job in your profession or perhaps expand your job skills so as to change or expand your profession. Having things like a house doesnt come easy...you need to work for it. You dont have to have a college education to get a high paying job-Trade schools are often cheaper and blue collar work often pays just as good if not better-then many jobs that require a diploma.

Set goals, and devise a plan on how to accomplish them. That part is important. If all you have are goals with no clear plan to accomplish them, then chances are you never will. Be intentional about it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
