"Watch out! Don't let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware, like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these COMING HORRORS and stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:34-36.

What does this mean to you and why God warned us if it (the COMING HORRORS of great tribulation) will trap us anyway ?

"That day" is the day of His return, not the destruction of Jerusalem, since it would "come on all" earth-dwellers (v. 35). Jesus did not want His disciples to be unprepared for His return. He did not want them to be so self-indulgent and selfish that they disregarded His return. In that case, it might catch them "like a trap." Even though believers should be able to anticipate the Lord's return by the signs that precede it (vv. 10-11, 25-26), they may become so entangled in the affairs ("worries") "of life" that they lose sight of it. (Constables expository notes)

Matthew 24 is a great chapter that goes into much more detail on this subject.  I think you would find it very interesting.

Whats to fear about it if that day is the day of His return (2nd coming) which means a good news to all the inhabitant of the earth because Jesus 2nd coming will end the great tribulation instead of being as SNARE that traps the whole world ?

This is a great question.  Could it have something to do with the original question the disciples had asked Jesus?  "And they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?”"  (Luke 21:7)  If so, Matthew's account expounds on the question a little further:  "what will be the sign of your coming".  (Matthew 24:3)  Many believe that Jesus' coming will spark the beginning of the end time which will bring about grave conditions on earth along with the great tribulation.  It seems as though being weighed down with anxieties and overeating during that time will only hinder a person from escaping what's destined to occur.  Instead allowing worry to dominate one's thinking, constant prayer and supplication will be essential according to Jesus' words.

In my limited understanding, the day comes upon "everyone" but the trap ensnares most, not everyone.  Some, although relatively few, will be spiritually "strong enough to escape."

(I say relatively few will escape in light of Luke 13:24)

Yes, it will take that 'extra oil' to keep the lamp lit, so to stay in the light during those days.  If we don't have enough oil, our light goes out and we are forced to go out 'into the world', that world now under the control of  "the prince that shall come" as told in Dan 9. And that's a trap, for sure.

God even told us that the days had to be shortened or else EVEN Gods elect (those with the extra oil) would be deceived, so those without it, they won't hardly stand a chance but instead will be taken by the deception, the deceiver, the desolator, aka overcome by the overcomer.

It may not be about this time but about the coming horror time :

"... and pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:34-36.

Imho the elects here means the woman (Israelites) fled from Judea to the wilderness and nourished for 3,5 years, not the wise virgins taken to the Feast of the Lamb (great multitude of Rev 7:9).

Rev 12:14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.

From the time of the AOD it will be cut short 3,5 years by Jesus 2nd coming to Armageddon battle to fight for the world.

Blessings in Jesus name.

It means just what it says. It is easy for saints (born again ones) to allow the cares of life to cause their relationship to Jesus to dim. I think this verse hints that even born again people can be left behind when He comes FOR His saints on that day.

Do not get caught up in what this earth has to offer. Do not get distracted by our fleshly needs and desires. We will stand before Christ and He will judge everything we have done while we were on this earth.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
