Who is driving the sin and evil in this world if not satan? So much evil, including against Christians. Is Satan still affecting this world of ours?

The Bible teaches us that Satan rules this world (1 John 5:19).

Sorry, but I gave you the Rev  1:20 verse where John is told stars are angels in reference to the churches. Sometimes one needs to look no further than what we are told...if it makes sense, make no other sense. A wise phrase I’ve come to accept. If it does not make sense then look for other sense in the Bible but always in the Bible only to back up your new logic. In this case it is explained....

@leah777

very good question.

God warns us all through scripture that satan is going to be very active in peoples lives.

1 Peter say's, "be alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

Ephesians 6: 11 says, "put on the full ARMOR OF GOD, so you can make your stand against the devils schemes."

The Bible says that “evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).

For me, I think that man by nature has an evil heart, and satan uses that to just make matters worse.

he has a lot to work with and we are guilty of allowing him to use it.

So to me it's a combination of things, and it seems to me I've seen that as man ignores God more and more, and ignores doing right more and more, things only get worse as more and more people decide to care nothing about God, and that's what's happening right now.

My name is Arrabon

Where in the bible does it say this?

There's a collection of verses that lead me to this conclusion.

Question: "Did one third of the angels fall with Lucifer?"

Answer:
While there is no verse that says "a third of the angels fell from heaven," some verses, when put together, lead us to that conclusion. Sometime after their creation, and most certainly after the sixth day when everything was declared “very good” (Genesis 1:31), Satan rebelled and was cast out of heaven. “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!” (Isaiah 14:12). Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18), and in the book of the Revelation Satan is seen as “a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth” (Revelation 9:1).

We are also told that one third of an “innumerable company of angels” (Hebrews 12:22) chose to rebel with him. John saw this great wonder in heaven, “…an enormous red dragon…His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth…the great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him” (Revelation 12:3–9).

Since Satan is referred to as a star which fell or was cast down to earth, and Revelation 12:4 says a third of the stars were cast out with him, then the conclusion is that the stars in Revelation 12 refer to fallen angels, fully one third of the heavenly host. If the one-third number is in fact accurate, what assurance that is! Two thirds of the angels are still on God’s side, and for followers of Christ, they are on our side as well.

I might have gotten the timing of these events off. It appears it could have happened later. I'm not sure WHEN exactly it happened. This would not change the present outcome. I can only say Lucifer was in the garden to tempt Eve and Satan and his followers are still here doing what they do.

Satan and Lucifer are probably modern terms for more ancient names that westerners associate with "the devil". There are other names for him.

Two terms are important when reading these scriptures together. The DRAGON is Satan. STARS are the heavenly host.

The SERPENT in the garden was a beautiful being that many associate with a reptilian look. See the reference to appearance here-

Ezekiel 28:12-15 ESV

“Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.

Here the king of Tyre is actually referring to Satan.

Satan and his followers are fallen STARS. we As CHRISTIANS WILL BE risen Stars..........hence my Worthy name of STARISE

When you see the devil meeting The Christ in his tempting of God The Son you see his ownership of the earth

Eph 2:2

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
KJV

However this ownership will be taken away at the Millennial kingdom...

Exactly- THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.

The short answer @leah777 is sin and evil in this world come from both men, fallen angels and demons.

Yes I agree with those verses as well, I guess I should have been more precise in my question, you stated :

We know 1/3 of the angelic host rebelled against Satan before Eden came into existence

My question is where does it say they were cast out before Eden?

As I had mentioned:

the bible does not mention anything about fallen angels or anything sinister until AFTER the seventh day.

The Holy Bible says: In the beginning , genesis says:  God the Father, Son Holy Spirit IS and than began creation . On the six day of God creation , EVERYTHING HE created was GOOD= No corruption, no sin.  On the seventh Day God rested.

The Holy Bible states: Lucifer a cherub walked Eden and had access unto all heaven until sin was found in him and a third of the angels, then they were cast down to earth. The corruption of the angels and then man happened sometime after the seventh day.

Thanks for that correction. I can see where my timing was skewed.

Could it not have been after the 7th day?

Lucifer did two things we know of that really upset Yahweh, actually three. He was attempting to rise above Yahweh and be God himself. He made a point of going after the 1st man and woman to bring them down into sin. He led a revolt on heaven taking 1/3 of the angels with him. It would stand to reason Lucifer would try to destroy man because man was going to be sitting in heaven right beside him. This would have bothered him because of his primary sin -pride. HE wanted to be the top person in heaven. Who is Yahweh to make these men and promote them, even walk with Adam in the garden? Some possible jealousy there as well.

We could split hairs here and say there might have been a rather long time after creation of the earth that Lucifer tempted Eve. There's nothing that says this was immediate to my knowledge. Satan would have been scheming, making a plan to take men down.

Some things that cause me to want to research it a bit more- The rebellious 'stars' were cast to the EARTH. How could Lucifer be 'cast' to the earth if he was already here as a result of rebellion? Evil was  in the garden through Lucifer "star of the morning".

Yes Lucifer was a guardian Cherub="O covering cherub", he originality protect Eden Ezekiel 28:11-19, Isaiah 14:12-15 as well as elsewhere in the heavens he could go from earth to any of the 3 heavens until sin was found in him,  when sin was found in him, that is when he was cast out of the 3 heaven were  God  IS, God resides and all is HOLY and nothing corrupt can be or survive in the presence of God.  1John ch1.v5 that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

Christ Jesus said, He was there when He saw Lucifer fall from heaven like lightning.Luke 10:18

Lucifer fell from the third heaven but till this day has access to earth and the second heaven  -ref to scripture .=prince of the air.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
