What I am saying, if you can't look back from the time you're a child till now and find no [Miracles], chances are then, you were never born to live life.

Be sure to look back upon all of your ancestors too!  I have many of my lineages traced back for hundred of years.  One line ends (right now) at 1015!  Our ancestors endured.  They lived.  By the shear grace of God each of us reading this thread on this site are miracles of God Our Creator! According to His purpose! :amen:

What happened then, happens sometimes now.  It should happen much more often, but unbelief is a blockage.

Sadly we live in a world dominated by unbelief and deception.  He already hung on the cross once and he will not be back to do it again just so today's unbeliever can watch and see for themselves.

Besides, we all know the MSM would not accurately or truthfully report on miracles of today that could possibly turn a heart to God.  "Move along.  Nothing to see here!"

To those who love to report Pentecostals for defending the gospel -

1Corinthians 4:19 But I [Paul] will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not the talk of these arrogant people but their power. 20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.

I have heard that many times but I am not satisfied with the veracity of the statement ....

Man is incurably religious. Which is probably the biggest thing standing between

God and man. In effect, it is a form of unbelief or distrust, that God is somehow

incapable of doing all that he said and showed us he will do... or that we feel some

sort of need to DO something... when all we are capable of is interfering...

For example, we  religionate names and words like prophet or prophesy...

"Oh he's a [prophet]"

wooo

"Or he is speaking a [prophecy]..."

I feel faint...

The name and title are from the same root as profess and professor, for pity sake.

The thing to be awestruck by is the message from God.

We have God's book of prophecy (from cover to cover) already in our Bibles.

Then there are many frauds and charlatans whose egos attempt to draw attention to themselves

as a prophet and speaking prophecies as they prophesy...

Read aloud the passage in the Bible the Holy Spirit directs you to and then I'll marvel (but not at you).

A faith based on miracles is not a mature faith.

Only a faith based on the saving miracle of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is going to make it.  Everything else is dust in the wind.  No follower of Christ would base their foundation of faith on anything but the Messiah, Jesus.

I just requoted got questions, it is not my belief. I think it is really a flawed statement.

This is NOT my post...

I was just wondering how many people here have actually spoken in tongues AND prophesied according to Acts 19:6 and 1st Corinthians 14:1-5, and what it meant to you and how important it is for the average Christian to have this experience and what is called the "baptism of the Holy Spirit"?

So as you can read for yourself here @CaptWalker the Christian world is most definitely divided between the cessationists and the Spirit-filled.

One side denies the continuation and legitimacy of praying in the Spirit (tongues) and the giving of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit directly to the body of Christ.

So it is really now up to you to seek for yourself the truth of Mark 16 and the book of Acts -

Luke 11:9 And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Matt 12:32

31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be
forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come.

We do not differ in very many areas of Christianity but this is where we do not agree.

I am a cessationist. They believe that tongues and healing by christians today have ceased. God does perform miracles today. The Holy Spirit no longer uses christians to perform miraculous signs. Why do we need prophets today if we have the complete revelation from God in the Bible?

How do you feel about Ephesians 4, that prophets help the church until . . . the church, not the scriptures, are complete, full, utterly accomplished.

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ [at the Rapture/Return].

I'm a fundamentalist, but not a cessationist.

It is really sad to hear that some believe in the cessation of spiritual gifts and manifestations. People are missing so much if they take that view and if they teach it to others, that is a real shame...

"Cessationism versus continuationism involves a Christian theological dispute as to whether spiritual gifts remain available to the church, or whether their operation ceased with the Apostolic Age of the church. The cessationist doctrine arose in the Protestant Reformation, initially in response to claims of Roman Catholic miracles."

The devil has done and is still doing a very good job of discrediting miracles...and many still believe him today unfortunately.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
