When I wake up, I read and meditate on his words and commandments. Wonderful.

Than I get to work where the environment changes and my mind is so set on the work that it is hard to keep strong thoughts on what I just read.

How do you guys do it?

My son, give attention to my words;

Incline your ear to my sayings.

21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;

Keep them in the midst of your heart;

22 For they are life to those who find them,

And health to all their flesh. - Proverbs 4:20-22

I even carry around some verses with me, but again its very difficult.

I don't think it's appreciated at work, but I take my Bible and study notes with me!

Hehe, my brother and dad are not quite sure what to think, during morning break and lunch, I get out the Bible, concordance, notepad and pen and off I go.

I have to confess to even standing reading the Bible whilst doing my work. You'd think it would interfere, but it doesn't, I have actually made less mistakes, go figure.

I even used to in my military time, carry my Bible in my burgen, it was just as necessary to have my Bible as it was to have my mess tins.

But I think I tend to take things to the extreme!! :)

Yes.......it's alot easier at home..........but out there in the world?... we dwell on his word from application. Everything that happens we can find something in the Word as referance.

Last week I walk into the break area at work, on Monday, before we get started...........the atmosphere was grim. Ofcoarse I gotta say something........"hey what's up?"..................I hear "It's Monday" or "Same oh (yaknow), different day" I said "This is the beginning of a NEW week........there'shor is alot of new oppertunities this week" also I say "ya only get so many days and then your done, what are you gonna do with this one?"

I could of just avoided everyone and went on my merry litle way but God put these people in my life for some reason.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not gonna get the job done in enough time........well..."I can do all things through Christ who strenthens me"

Take one scripture with you a day..........you keep it close to your heart and mind. Will you need it today? Maybe or maybe you'll need last Thursday scripture.

Keep it simple and always know that in everything, the Word APPLIES. If we walk the Word.........then we'll remember the Word.

Keep reading and studying, and after awhile it will become second nature to you.

Remember His commandment's.....Love your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to do onto others as you would have them do onto you.

Just remember those and you really can't go wrong.

Take alot of notes. Always take notes.

My notes look like this...

John 3:16...For God so loved...

Matt. 6:9....Lord's prayer...

John 7:24...judging/appearance...

1 Tim. 6:20...Idle talk...

I do a bulk of my reading in the new testament. I pray for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding before I even open the bible. If there's something I don't understand, I make a note of it and go back to it later. You may not get the meaning of a verse on your first reading, don't worry about it. It will come in time if you keep at it.

I get distracted at work all the time, but if you keep your mind on Him you can't go wrong. I even take notes at work. ( What does the bible say about this or what does it say about that ) Then when I get home I search for the answers.

Keep studying and after awhile you'll be able to say "that's right or that's wrong because...". Take it slow and easy. Just keep your mind on Him in all you do and say. Even if you can't quote scripture, don't worry about it. He knows your heart and if your thoughts are on Him and His commandments, He'll never be far from you. If you stumble, get back up. We're not perfect and He knows that.

I'm starting to babble here...sorry.

Just keep Him in your thoughts and treat people the way you want to treated. That's all He really asks of us.

Anyway...Just keep studying, keep it simple, take it slow, always take notes.

You have a nice day. :)

Meditating on his Word, How do you do it?

Do you know how to "worry"?...you know, when something bad has happened, or you think something bad is about to happen and you worry...which is thinking your fearful, worried thoughts in your mind over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over...

That's how you meditate!

All you have to do is do this with God's promises, and you are meditating God's Word...instead of the lies of the devil.

Worry is satan's counterfeit for meditating God's Word.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Gotta agree with most of that Rockerz. Your wisdom is as wise, as your posted humor is funny. A wise man once was asked by an older woman "How can I meditate? And the wise mans asked "Do you know how to worry? The woman answered "Yes". "Congratulations, said the wise man. You are half way there!"

I listen to the word while I drive. I ususlly do 3 to 5 thousand miles a month. I have the KJV on cd and am thinking about moving it to an ipod to make it easier to carry around. I use a small recorder to make notes when I am driving...... can't take notes and drive in city traffic.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
