Love, joy, peace, forbearance, patience, kindness, goodness, gentilness, faithfulness and self control.

They are the result of the holy spirit living in one and influencing one, changing one's character to be more like Christ.

Ok, if someone does not have a particular fruit, what should they do?

How do they go about obtaining or receiving that missing fruit?

"what should they do?     How do they go about obtaining or receiving that missing fruit?"

Abide in Christ.      (abide; to remain in a given place, abide, tarry, tabernacle, pitch a tent )

We do not produce any fruit.
We abide in the true vine, Jesus.

Jesus produces the fruit.
We abide (like a branch)in Jesus, the vine,
and like a branch, we bear the fruit,
produced by Jesus.
We cannot produce fruit ourselves!

I do not works for Jesus.
Jesus works through me.
Not I, but Christ!

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine;
no more can ye,
except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples."
John 15

I don’t believe the fruit of the Spirit in a true believer is ever “missing.”  Somebody please correct me if I’m wrong.

Colossians 2:6-10

6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

As Christians, we know each other by our fruit.  So a person who is consistently uncharitable, miserable, irritable, intolerant, impatient, unkind, mean, brutal, disloyal, or undisciplined and claims to be a Christian might just be telling a fib. We all need some pruning from time to time, but if we are truly His, He will do it.  The fruit—all of it—is in us and should be evident.

If I believed some of the fruit of the Spirit had “gone missing” in me, I would pray and ask Father to examine my heart and get rid of any sin in it that prevented the fruit of His Spirit from showing.  I want to be known as one of His own.

No, you are not wrong, as far as I am concerned.  How can "part" of God be missing in someone?  He can't be.  I believe it is covered by the flesh, something someone refuses to let go.  This is like hindering the Spirit.

Amen!....completely agree, I was one such person, I would not let go of arguing, God got me to that place of letting go, it was like an addiction, but I now know what triggers it.....Praise God.?

Consider this:

2Cor. 4:3 (NAS20S) And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants on account of Jesus. 6 For God, who said, “ Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

2Cor. 4:7 (NAS20S)   But we have this treasure in   earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; 8 we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who live are constantly being handed over to death because of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal flesh.

Don't we love Jargon!

abide in Christ, Paul talked about clearly presenting the gospel, ever thought about the jargon used by Christians when talking about the faith.

Now explain what you mean?

to say that anyone with a spiritual problem is not a Christian, because 'Christians' don't have spiritual problems is very closed minded.

Have you looked at the 'do you ant to ask a question forum' and read some of the questions?

I understand your frustration…. I in no way intended to imply that Christians don’t ever have spiritual problems.  However, we do have to accept pruning sometimes, as I said in my post, and I am speaking about myself as well.  I also pointed out our avenue for correction—asking God to help us recognize the wrong in us that prevents the fruit from being evident. The fruit is never missing. It’s the gift of the Holy Spirit to those who have placed their trust in Christ.

For example, Christians are to display joy in all circumstances.  This is really a hard one for me.  I have burdens in my life just like everyone else—some pretty big ones.  But when an “unjoyful” spirit attacks me, I focus on the the truth of God’s word that promises me joy everlasting, and I talk with Him about it.  Nothing in this life is permanent.  God and my relationship with Him through Christ is.  He has always been faithful to return my joy.  It was there, but I had allowed it to be buried under a circumstance.

And yes, I haven’t been here long, but I have read many posts in the question section of the forum.  I have responded to a few and prayed for many more.  I recognize that you have a special concern for hurting hearts (compassion), and I agree with you that we should always be available to lift up our brothers and sisters when they need encouragement.  I also think that consistent display of bad fruit is evidence that repentance has not taken place.

I had a lovely compliment paid to me today, by my elderly gentleman that I clean for.

He told me that I lift his mood up and am always happy, well, I had to tell him the truth.

That it’s the Lord in me, he makes me happy and fills me with his joy, so he said, ..you must play some part in it, Bless Him, he’s 93 years young, I witness every time I visit him....he’s very open to it.....Praise God!..

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
