Your bible reads funny...

Ephesians 5:18
And not to be drunk with wine in which is debauchery.  Instead be filled with [the] Spirit

19 speaking to each other in psalms and hymns and songs spiritual singing and making melody in the heart of you to the Lord

20  giving thanks at all times for all things in [the] name the Lord of us Jesus Christ to the God and Father

21 Be submitting yourselves to one another in reverence of Christ

22 wives, to the own husbands, as to the Lord

23 for [the] husband is head of the wife as also Christ [is the] head of the church,
He Himself Saviour of the body

24  But even as the church is subjected to Christ, so also wives to the own husbands in everything

25  Husbands love the wives, just as also Christ loved the church and Himself gave up for her

26  so that her He might sanctify having cleansed [her] by the washing of water by [the] word

27  so that might present He to Himself in glory the church not having spot or wrinkle or any of the such things but that it would be holy and blameless

28 so ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.  He that loveth his wife loveth himself

29 No one for at any time the of himself flesh hated but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as also [does] Christ the church

30 for members we are of the body of Him, of the flesh of him and of the bones of him

31 Because of this, will leave a man his father and mother and be joined to the wife of him and will be the two into flesh one

32 The mystery this great is; I however speak as to Christ and as to the church

33 However also you according to individual each the of himself wife, so let love as himself and the wife that she may respect the husband

WE are members of the body of Him, and this is speaking to the closeness of the relationship we have with Him and He with us

So, are we AS MEMBERS OF HIS BODY, marrying OURSELVES?  Shouldn't what is written ALWAYS follow after COMMON SENSE?  Shouldn't we be reading this to understand the points that are being made

rather THAN trying to PROVE A DOCTRINE TO BE TRUE?   The absolute STRETCHES that are made for that are so far from basic common sense again and again and again.   I can almost count on whatever put forth as being a stretch away...and always for the doctrine, never for the TRUTH.

Will there ever be a VERSE PUT FORTH that is more about GODS TRUTH and less about the doctrine?

Maybe the next verse will SAY what you claim it will say.

OF COURSE you leave out everything around it that sheds light on what is being said and why...

1Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

877. aphrosuné ►
Strong's Concordance
aphrosuné: foolishness
Original Word: ἀφροσύνη, ῆς, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: aphrosuné
Phonetic Spelling: (af-ros-oo'-nay)
Definition: foolishness
Usage: want of sense, foolishness, impiety, wickedness.
HELPS Word-studies
Cognate: 877 aphrosýnē – lack of perspective, emphasizing its quality (foolishness) – note the -synē suffix (focusing on the inherent quality of a term). See 878 (aphrōn).

2For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

5For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

6But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

Might as well look at the last one

When was it KING DAVID RULED OVER ISRAEL????    One Spirit has always brought us together.  Just as one spirit has always been seeking to divide us.

"For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool." Mark 12:36 KJV

BUT none of those make us the Bride of Christ.  When I tried to find BRIDE OF CHRIST and there was NOT ONE PASSAGE in which that was mentioned, I was shocked. Then again, it's just like pre trib rapture and church age isn't it?

NONE OF THEM WRITTEN IN THE WORDS OF GOD.  I DON'T THINK I am ABLE TO SAY THAT ENOUGH.

I cannot help you with your unbelief.

I've always marveled at those who say not all Christians are going to be part of the bride of Christ, but I do not believe I've ever heard  a believer denying there is one...

So I ask you, seriously, with the expectation an relative answer and and not a dismissive one, why do you think God in His wisdom established all these positions?

Parents and children, in light of the 5th commandment that our days may be long (eternal).

Masters and servants, not rendering eyeservice only, but being faithful as unto the Lord (Master).

Husbands and wives (you've seen all the verses already...)

Why all these if it is not so that we "so that we may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things?" And why the amazing "grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly, righteously and godly, in this present world?" If it is not that we, the redeemed, might be excitedly "Ever looking towards the blessed hope, and the glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ?"

Rev 19:6 - And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thundering, saying, "Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns!"  7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.  9 And he saith unto me, "Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he saith unto me, "These are the true sayings of God."

He uses things we know and understand in this our flesh and blood carnal life to explain things of our spiritual life.  Just like He uses PLANTS and their seeds to explain how we die and become 'born again'... very much the same on the outside but different within

THE MARRIAGE  - WHEN does it take place and WHO is invited and who is actually getting married?

Rejoicing in Heaven

1And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

The Marriage of the Lamb

6And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

9And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

WHEN?  AFTER the whore has been judged and HIS servant's blood has been avenged.  That would be all servants, correct?  Or is there somewhere written it is only SOME of His servants but not all?

We also notice the 24 elders who were in heaven BEFORE the Lamb was even slain, so no possibility they could be the 'church', are still there.  Makes sense since the Tabernacle was to be made a replica on earth (downsized) of what was already in heaven, doesn't it?

And he says to me, Write, Blessed those to the supper of the marriage of the Lamb having been invited….

A New Heaven and a New Earth

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The Order of Resurrection

20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Why do we 'those who have been 'born again' look forward to the coming of 'the death of this flesh and blood body' and/or to the end of this age?

BECAUSE to be absent from this body means to be with the Lord in our new one aka we return to God and the place of the living, since we never die.  We no longer will be 'walking through the valley of the shadow of death'.  We will stand at the judgment seat of Christ and return with Him on the white horses for the Lords Day.  We look forward to ruling and reigning with Him for the millennium and we look forward to the new heaven and new earth.

Misc quotes

19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

The Order of Resurrection

20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

13And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Prayer for all Believers

20Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die.

Believest thou this?

I hope this answered your question...but this is where I was led, so this is what I gave.  If I did not, maybe ask it in a different way and I will try again

Hi @DeighAnn Interesting indeed that the coming again which the Lord Jesus refers to near the beginning of chapter 14 of John is - like you quoted - referred to again in verse 28.

Just seems to me that every living soul since the time of Jesus being raised up to the Throne of God should be looking for Him at any moment since ANY MOMENT could be their last...,

that doesn't just happen to those who will still be 'alive' at His return as LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS....

Eph 5:25 and on;  Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the Church, and gave himself for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water, through the Word, and to present her to himself as a radiant Church, without stain or wrinkle, or any blemish, but holy and blameless....  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and to be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh;  This is a profound mystery, but I am talking about Christ and the Church.

To become ones/the grooms wife, one must first become the grooms Bride.  What does a Bridesmaid do??  Prepares the Bride before the marriage.  When does the Bride become complete??  After the Father brings the last soul to Jesus, and seals them with the H.S.  Then the marriage can happen.  The Bride of Christ becomes the Wife of Christ.  The marriage supper can then begin.  Ancient custom, the Yichud, time of seclusion lasted for a few minutes then the Bride and Groom came out to meet their guests at the Marriage Supper, which lasted for 7 days.   (7 days.. is equivalent ..to 7 years); thus the onset of the 70th Week

In Christ

In Ephesians 2 we read

11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

That would be the Jews and the Gentiles (Christians) made in Him "ONE NEW MAN" and so they ALSO would be the 'bride of Christ'.  Meaning, UNTIL the two sticks are put back together, there couldn't be a bride.  No bride, no pre trib rapture.

So we are
made into one new man
fellow citizens with the saints
of the household of God
growing into an holy Temple in the Lord
builded together for an habitation of God
fellow heirs and partakers of His promise
members one of another

and as a husband and wife love each other, so the Head loves his body, Christ the church as we should love Him.  Never does he say we will be the bride of Christ

Who is blessed?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
