Could you post the chapter and verse so I can understand where you are coming from?

Thanks

I'm thinking it is probably this one, but I thought it was somewhere else.

Isaiah 34:8-10

8 For the Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
9 And the streams of Edom shall be turned into pitch,
    and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.
10 Night and day it shall not be quenched;
its smoke shall go up forever.
From generation to generation it shall lie waste;
none shall pass through it forever and ever.

It comes from a section entitled "Judgement on the Nations" and the speaks of the day of vengeance, which I suppose some may claim is still future prophecy.

Thanks for finding it.

This event also has not occurred yet. Check the verses.

Isa 34

4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Rev 6

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

See the similarity. This event has not occurred yet. It will occur at the end of the tribulation just prior to the wrath of God.

I can see the connection, but it's sort of odd that Edom, which has long disappeared as any sort of nation, should still burn forever, especially as the whole earth is to be made new. I see this as hyperbolic language of judgment, relevant to the audience that Isaiah was writing to. Revelation certainly borrows heavily from OT imagery, but this is not a new realization.

Does that mean you won't read or quote gotquestions.org anymore?  :whistling:

I would not put got questions in the same ball park as the extra bible apocryphal writings. Most people don't like got questions because it does not a-line with their interpretation.

The reformist scripture is hardly the 'bible' that Yeshua and His followers read. Their scriptures were 2nd Temple literature and the LXX. Probably the original Hebrew was also their scriptures, but NOT the later rewritten Masoretic texts. Do not forget the Targums either as they lived and spoke Aramaic. There is much Aramaic allusion in our NT scriptures as well. The 'reformed' scriptures are incomplete.

If you do not know history, you will repeat its mistakes and misinformed ideas. Aka, Darby, Scofield, Luther and Calvin. Not to mention the Dallas Theological Seminary which is a pastor-factory for the pre-mil ideas and dogmas.

A lot of good Pastors have come out of the Dallas Seminary. I have read some things from some pretty bad Pastors who are into false teachings. I haven't seen bad theology yet from the Dallas Pastors. They are on the same page as the Holy Bible

Dispensational thought is FAR FAR FAR from the scriptures.
Take a moment to think about this: is the path to the pit paved with flowers and daisies??

Babylon, Edom/Esau, Assyria, Leviathan and the Dragon.

Are symbolic names referring to end time powers and people.

Revelation 19:17

"The beast and false prophet were captured, [Leviathan and the Dragon]
these both were thrown alive into a lake burning with fire

and all the birds were filled with their flesh."
Revelation 19:20-21

For wheresoever the bodies are there will the birds be gathered together.
Matthew 24:28, Luke 17:37

Then the Lord with His saints reigns for 1000 years,
from Isaiah 2:19 and Rev 6:15-17 we know that people will hide
underground from the Lords arrival,
I believe these people will come out of hiding
and be ruled over, and there may be those in nations
far away from Israel that remain, the Lord with His saints
will rule over the world for 1000 years with no demonic forces present.
After 1000 years the devil will be allowed to try to stop the reign.
The enemy will gather all the world against the camp of the saints,
but a fire will come down out of the sky and devour them [Rev 20:7-9]

The land shall burn, the sea will change, the sky will melt,
it will all be turned over to fire [ 2 Peter 3:10-12, Rev 20:9 ]

The great city that is already now prepared will come down; Rev 21:1.
and a new water source will flow from the middle of that city; Rev 22:1.

The Antichrist” Myth

The Antichrist – a term broadly used throughout the Church to describe a single man who will come to rule the whole world – is a myth based upon an old rumor.

This rumor has its first and only biblical reference in 1 John 1:18 –

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is a last hour; and as you have heard that Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is a last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us…

John never acknowledges any truth to this “as you have heard” rumor. Quite the contrary, John later provides a significantly different doctrine of antichrist:

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar but the one [i.e. each one: see 2:18 above] denying that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either… 4:3 And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the* [spirit] of the antichrist, that you have heard is coming, and now already it is in the world.   * The Greek article to = “the” is neuter, agreeing with pneuma/spirit.

So – John clearly defines the term antichrist to be a spiritual belief, being the doctrine of one powerful collective spirit. It is not, nor will be, a single man; rather, this belief had infested, and will infest, “many” spirits and men. The one-man The Antichrist doctrine is never taught by John, and only John uses the word antichrist. Therefore, the one-man The Antichrist doctrine is not biblical.

I just went through ever page and and.. nothing. PLEASE tell me you have more then just 1st John?  Would have been nice to read "I believe the AntiChrist is a myth and heres why".  Let me help... John did not say "So – John clearly defines the term antichrist to be a spiritual belief," you did. You defined it then told us what John was "really" saying. Not how this works. :) its right there in what you posted.. I can't understand how you miss it. Thank you though.. I've never quite heard this one before..Heard not going to be one.. everything its going to get better and better not worse.. blah blah blah.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
