What is the true cause of a disease? How to get healed from any illness, including Corona Virus?

•    “From above He has sent fire into my bones and it has laid them low. He has spread a net for my feet; He has turned me back; He has made me amazed and faint all the day.” (Lamentations 1.13).

Unfortunately, many times we wish to believe in Christ, but without depend on Him. We look for someone or something (including the Holy Scripture) that sort out all our predicaments and make us to get over all bad situation by ourselves. Indeed, many of our prayers aims at it.

Nonetheless, what is the cause of a disease?

•    “And the inhabitant shall not say, *I am sick*: the people that dwell therein shall be *forgiven their iniquity*.” (Isaiah 33.24).
•    “When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I confessed my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden.” (Psalms 32.3-5).

See that illness has to do with sin. So much so that James gave the following advice:

•    “Is any sick among you? *Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him*, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. *Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed*. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5.14-16).

Observe that James didn’t say: “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the doctors”, but “Let him call for the elders of the church”. Is it so that there is not a wise one among you, not even one in your midst who shall be able to heal the infirm (see 1Corinthians 6.5)? Why do we need to quest for those who are least esteemed in the church in order to get healed? Especially considering that:

•    “And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.” (Mark 16.17,18).

Once Jesus Christ doesn’t lie and the Holy Scripture don’t fail, why isn’t this promise being fulfilled in the Church of Jesus? Where are the ministers of the gospel to be used by Christ for this purport? Jesus has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. With His stripes we ourselves are healed. (Isaiah 53.4,5; 1Peter 2.24). He is the true Tree of Life (see John 15.1; Revelation 22.2) whose leafs further the healing.

So, starting from me, let’s take the Holy Scripture seriously, believe in His promises and seek in Christ to realize why these ones aren’t being accomplished in us and through us. Only thus we will be able to have a miraculous day and be a miracle in the lives around us.

Luke was a physician and what about all the references to balms, salves or drinking a little wine?

Quote

.Genesis 50:2 Then Joseph told the physicians who served him to embalm his father’s body; so Jacob was embalmed.

Jeremiah 8:22 Is there no medicine in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why is there no healing for the wounds of my people?

Isaiah 38:21 Isaiah had said to Hezekiah’s servants, “Make an ointment from figs and spread it over the boil, and Hezekiah will recover.”

1 Timothy 5:23 Don’t drink only water. You ought to drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach because you are sick so often.

Matthew 9:12 When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do.

Colossians 4:14 Luke, the beloved doctor, sends his greetings, and so does Demas.

Ultimately & above all the GREAT PHYSICIAN is Almighty God ,He uses people to heal the sick,He uses medicines to to heal the sick and through the Prayers of the Elders & Church Body.......We must ask His Direction that His Will be Done & His Will is always for our Good & His Glory!

Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

I feel like statements like these can be a little misleading. Is sin why we have to suffer from disease? Ultimately yes, in the sense of original sin. But we can't rightly look at everyone who's sick and assume that some recent sin of theirs is the cause. We live in a world tainted by sin. It operates a certain way independent of what any of us are or aren't doing. Just because someone has a cold doesn't mean they've sinned and God is punishing them for it. It may well and often is just a consequence of living in a world where disease and health conditions exist. Similarly God uses many methods to provide healing. Prayer helps for sure. But we've been blessed by God with doctors, medicines, our body's natural healing processes, and so on.

I don't read anywhere in Leonardo's post where he says that doctors are not of God. Correct me Leonardo, but I believe that he is saying that the first reaction of an sick Christian is to call for elders of church, not go to the doctors first, then only call the elders if they continue to get sicker, or, worse.

As an elder, the number of times that sick members have called for me (and others) to pray for them are very few. They only call for elders as an last resort when things turn for the worse.  Of course the elders must be able to know the scriptures, and act on them, praying in faith (not doubt), and anoint with oil etc.  The oil does not raise up the sick, but along with the prayers of faith is the method that the Lord can use to raise the sick up. It is the Lord who raises them up.

Thank God for doctors! Many are fine and use their skills to promote healing for God's people. No doctor can heal, but also, no doctor can stop God from healing His people either. Doctors have their place, and I go to doctors on occasion, but, I do so in faith that they will help me heal, NOT heal me. That is the Lord's doing entirely.

Blessings . . . Ray . . .

I certainly hope that's not what was meant & I don't believe that is what Leonardo is saying but it would not be the first time I've heard it!My body has be been en under attack by different cancers since 1992....is it because of my sins?  I've come across a certain denomination of "Christians" that would have me believe it was for my lack of Faith that I was not Receiving a Miraculous Healing(I guess it wasn't happening fast enough for them because in 2010 I was given a death sentence prognosis & for 2yrs I was getting worse and worse & worse ......One day was completely Healed-to the Glory of God(cancer free)poof, one day it just GONE!

So now,10yrs later I'm diagnosed with lung cancer.....well as Gods Living Testimony I won't skip a beat-I'll give God Glory in ALL things! Perhaps the enemy hates the Hope in Christ I bring to others and surely he hates that I love God,even when he allows sickness or disease but there is a Purpose for my Good & Gods Glory...we live in a corrupt, decaying, dying world full of sickness & disease,we live in decaying, dying bodies...this is life!

I would hope so,my FIRST reaction has always been"Run to my Lord",I ask for Direction,I go to the Body of Christ & ask for prayer .....I've been Healed with the Elders before-Praise Jesus,at my old local church   Sadly,I no longer can find any "Elders" or a local congregation as I was had.....hmmm?If there is no Spirit Filled Gatherings with Born Again Believing Elders its pretty difficult to go to them FIRST      Thank God His Healings & Deliverance is not dependent on them

I love what you said Ray,too bad your lil church wasnt near me,I'd be there for a visit   The church I attend now is very nice, sound preaching yet I see zero signs or wonders ....I still ask though, with Great Expectation-Praise the Lord!

Amen to this and bless you for seeing it that way and sharing. I heard it said that our stories will eventually become someone else's survival guide and really liked it. We just have to be sure to share our stories and give God the glory.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
