Don't know what he looked like when he was here, but this is a pretty good description of him now according to John:

Rev 1:12-16

12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. 14  The hairs of his head were white like wool, as white as snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, 15  his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.

I don't believe I said one way or another.  If it mattered I would have said so.

Hebrew Israelites.

I’m not sure they are all the same. The group I interacted with was racist and only hold to the OT. They didn’t believe in Jesus.

They said all non black and Non Hispanics are from the devil. I showed them this but they did not care:

“Then I looked, and there was a large crowd of people. There were so many people that no one could count them all. They were from every nation, tribe, race of people, and language of the earth. They were standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They all wore white robes and had palm branches in their hands.

They shouted loudly, “Victory belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” The elders and the four living beings were there. All the angels were standing around them and the throne. The angels bowed down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God. They said, “Amen! Praise, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power, and strength belong to our God forever and ever. Amen!”
Then one of the elders asked me, “Who are these people in white robes? Where did they come from?” I answered, “You know who they are, sir.” And the elder said, “These are the ones who have come out of the great suffering. They have washed their robes with the blood of the Lamb, and they are clean and white.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7:9-14‬ ‭

Actually I can tell you all about them. They're Sinners just like the rest of us. And someday  we will stand before God who will not be looking at our skin or what tribe we descended from but  looking at our heart. Has it been washed by the blood .? There's the rub...

This question reminds me of all the pictures and paintings I have seen of Jesus, a handsome European man. Unfortunately, photography was not around in Jesus' day, and He never had a portrait of Himself made. Jesus came as a Lamb, and a humble servant; no doubt He did not want to standout by looks, height or muscular physical appearance, or anything distinguishing. I take what Isaiah says is, He is less than handsome or muscular from the human secular perspective. Jesus' appearance was ordinary at best.

Isaiah 53:2 (KJV) For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

We know what distinguishes the difference between the Jew and the Samaritan. Jesus blood-line and genealogy was pure Jewish. Looking at the general Jewish population today, I would think 2,000 years would not have changed anything. The typical male Jew is about 5' 8" tall, with an olive complexion. There are a number of "theories" about a person's skin pigmentation, that's much too long to discuss.

I do not think we as humans, can understand the full consequences, of what Jesus bore on His Cross for His love of humanity.

Isaiah 52:14 (KJV) As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: Isaiah 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. Matthew 26:67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

There are more scriptures that describe the suffering, pain, disfigurement, marring and scourging Jesus endured; such as Psalm 22. To pull out the beard of any man, for any reason, was viewed as degrading and dishonorable. Much of Jesus beard was pulled out by hand.

Look at how many people Jesus appeared to after His resurrection, that did not recognize Him? Why? Did the Lord blind everyone's eyes so they would not recognize Him, or was Jesus so disfigured they did not know Him, or a combination of both?

After Jesus' resurrection in His glorified body, He still bore His scares for all to see, and invited doubting Thomas to examine them. If He still bore His scares, that would also include His disfigurements from all His scourging's and abuse.

The above leads me to believe, Jesus will bear all those scars and disfigurements for all of eternity. Perhaps as an eternal reminder of what He did and went through, so we could be with Him for all of eternity? Jesus is now standing as our advocate before the throne of God. He bore our punishment and torture in our place. From an eternal perspective, would it make any sense, that He would ever shed those proofs and sacrifices of what He went through and suffered for us?

You dipped into a well of debunked stereotypes there, the sort that have no place in Christ Jesus nor His Body. A "number" of theories about skin pigmentation? There is only one:

Melanin protects the cells of our body from exposure to solar radiation. A certain threshold of solar radiation (sunlight) is required by the human body for optimal cellular metabolism; we suffer when deprived of sunlight for extended periods. What's "too long" to discuss is the role solar radiation plays in the production of certain substances in the body (like vitamin D), and the effects solar radiation have upon body systems.

Skin pigmentation is all about protecting our body from excessive exposure to solar radiation, my friend. That's it in a peer-reviewed nutshell.

As for your characterization of Jews, that nonsense was debunked over 60 years ago. Judaism is not dependent upon genetic code; Jewishness is therefore not genetic any more than Christianity is genetic in origin. Cultural? To a degree. Dependent upon the older generation indoctrinating the younger generation? Absolutely, but not biological in origin.

Racialism is pseudoscientific claptrap designed to offer a veneer of respectability to those who are fixated upon this flesh. Sorry, but I've met Jewish folks who didn't adhere to your stereotype, Dennis.

Well, my friend, you certainly read a lot into what is not there, with your stereotype accusations. Tell me, what was my thinking or my intention, when in once sentence, I mentioned skin pigmentation?

We can politely agree to disagree, but who are you to lecture me on my biblical hermeneutics. Thankfully the ignore button is my friend. Have a nice day.

Waz up Starise?

One of the OPs topics was Jesus' ethnicity, which I gave my thoughts. The "theories" I was thinking about, as far as skin pigmentation, that I didn't address as stated. Were all the commentaries out there of Ham being the father of the black race; Japheth the Europeans and Chinese etc.; adaptations of the environment and climate through migrations and the like. All of which are not biblically addressed.

Here I thought the Jews were separate from the Gentile world, and God's peculiar chosen people? An identifiable ethnic and cultural people through the millennia. That did not breed themselves out like the Samaritans eventually did. But I got corrected by a self-righteous know it all. You just can't give your biblical perspective on here anymore, without something coming out of the wood work.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
