So, we know that we can talk and converse with God in our heads, but can we do the same with the devil/demons. The reason why I ask is because I am struggling with intrusive thoughts where I address the devil/demons and ask them to do things and I am just worried that they will hear me. I don't intend to think these things, they just pop into my head. Yes, I know that I need counselling and I am on a waiting list but waiting lists are quite long here in the UK. Can someone please tell me if the devil/demons will be able to hear for my peace of mind?

Some may argue & beg to differ but the answer is NO-the enemy cannot read your thoughts. There are plenty of Scriptures to tell us that God is the only one Who can Know our hearts, minds & our very soul but none to show the enemy can do any such thing.....

It certainly might seem that way because he can put thoughts "in" your mind, feed you with ideas etc... & then of course what comes out of your own mouth, your body language,re-actions to those thoughts & behavior will be a "tell"  .The enemy is basically a one trick pony,he's been around from the very beginning so its no great feat to know what buttons to push on human beings or to know what makes us tick .....remember,God is GREATER!!!!!

We can talk a lot on the subject of spiritual warfare But there is the simple answer to your simple question & FEAR NOT!!!Take captive your thoughts...

Quote

2 Cor 10:5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Heres a good read for you(short & simple)

It's good that you realise that although the thoughts are in you they are not of you. That is a huge victory towards liberation. Now work on letting these thoughts go. Don't claim them as your own.

I doubt that they can.

And good for you realizing that you are not the one thinking those thoughts and they do not represent you. Might I suggest that when they pop up you not only ask God to help take them away, but also praise him for the fact that he is a God of love and grace who will not hold against you those thoughts you do not control. I would also memorize some verses that focus on joy and freedom in God and his love, and when those thoughts pop up you can then actively recall and recite in your mind those verses.

You bring up two issues. You ask if you can converse with the devil/demons. I would advise you never to converse with the devil or demons. As far as whether or not the devil or demons can hear what you think, I wouldn't worry about that. Just stay with God.

I don't think run of the mill people can do that flower, however if you have gotten close to them in the past and pretty much invited them into yourself for some reason or been involved in occult rituals one can set up communication with them.      If you have done something like that in the past you need to take it to the Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to come to your defense.

However, I have in the past seen people who had those same symptoms have a brain chemistry problem and really needs to see a councilor.   Make sure it is a Christian councilor or they will just put you on drugs.   Lack of sleep can mess with your chemistry along with many different drugs....   All drugs have side affects and some of them are quite rare and are not mentioned in most documents on the drugs.       If you do ask the demons/devil to do things with your mouth I can assure you they will hear.

I can only assume you might be a believer in Christ and have accepted Him as your savior. Most believers would not even so much as entertain doing this and it seems odd to me any believer would have a tendency to invite or communicate with evil spiritual entities in any way , shape or form. In fact we are WARNED in the Bible to stay away from anything like this.

You are the property of yourself, yet non Christians can for lack of a better description, be  spiritually 'raped' . Evil spiritual entities can come against the non Christian in forceful ways. Sometimes invited though such things as occult practices as @other one mentioned or sometimes not invited. Immobilization while asleep is one of the control mechanisms used. Full on possession is not something that might immediately show up since the demons are smart enough to often lay low in the personality. I believe some possession is long lasting and other possession can be momentary.

Some Christians believe a Christian can be possessed. I disagree with this on biblical grounds. I do however believe a Christian can be oppressed by evil entities. If a person has the Lord living in their heart they have the Spirit of the Lord in their very hearts and evil cannot enter. We are sealed by the Holy Ghost.  We may sin and invite spiritual doorways to open through things like drugs, dabbling in the occult and use of porn. Any willful sin on the part of the Christian opens a doorway for the enemy to get a foothold in your life.

If you are a believer you can claim the blood of Christ over any evil entity and they will run. You are putting them on notice that you are aware we have won the great spiritual unseen battle through the blood of Jesus on the cross. They feed off of the naive' idea that many of us think they still have power over us. They don't unless you give it to them. Even so, we are not to be seeking these entities for a fight in an offensive way, we are defenders of the faith through the armor of God. The sword of the Spirit, the word of God already spoken and written down, The shield of faith which quenches all the darts of the wicked, feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, the helmet of salvation.

The loosing side can still do much harm on the way off the battle field. Maybe you remember the destruction of all the oil wells around Kuwait by sore losers looking to make things as miserable as possible for their enemies. Things on this earth will indeed get much worse before they ever get better at the hand of the evil ones.

Rest assured we have won the battle, claim what is yours over all intrusive thoughts and temptations. Claim the protection of the blood of Christ over all evil in your life. If you are unsaved none of this is relevant to you. Evil can still choose to reign in you and over you. Non Christians are fair game for demonic entities. I say this not to 'scare' you into the kingdom. It is simply a statement of fact.

Intrusive thought one just acknowledges by saying/thinking " that's correct" or 'OK' and move on ignoring that thought.

Please read this link:-

Particularly the sections about intrusive thoughts, share this with family, friends, your church leaders, anyone you might talk to about your intrusive thoughts so they can help you deal with them.

Last point.

If you are unable to follow the advice because you have so many or so intrusive the thoughts, then you may need medication to calm/slow down your thoughts in order that you can regain control.

Do seek medical advice.
