@missmuffet spiritual warfare is nothing new. Scripture advised the early disciples, as it advises us. I'm well aware of the Battle, and our Spiritual armour.

If you believe that there is false teaching in the worthy forums, then why not address it directly when you believe it arises, with whomever you believe is bringing it in?

I do address it. But it doesn't go away and it will not until God comes back at the second coming.

No, it won't. But it's a reality, and always has been.

We Address it, as it arises...hopefully with humility and love.

What do you mean when you say, We are not responsible for people’s response to the good news ?

I believe Jesus' parable of the seed (Matthew 13:1-23) explains how it is the ground of the heart and by the power of the Holy Spirit determines whether or not the seed will grow.  We are to plant the seed of the good news of Jesus Christ that ALL men can come to love, salvation and forgiveness through the cross and blood of Jesus.  It is not up to us to determine if the seed is falling on good ground or bad ground as we witness to others.

I think the part of this scripture that disturbs me more is the part about the "elect" being deceived.  The Greek word is eklektos which means favorite, elect, chosen.  When false teachers and prophets start showing full blown signs and wonders even some of God's chosen will be deceived.  The KJV uses the word "seduce" (lead astray) instead of "deceive".

Matthew 13:22
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

If possible is the important part of this verse.

But not impossible, correct? Otherwise why would the warning be there?  Some of the most elite/chosen WILL be deceived/seduced by false teachers and prophets and I for one will always be on guard.

@missmuffet spoke about the WHOLE armor of God we need to make sure is on tight and secure for every moment of every day as the end draws closer.

Hi, debrakay  —  Actually, the Elect (Chosen) will be the only ones NOT deceived.  They will never bow a knee to the AC and will endure to the very end.

That is not what the scripture says to me.  Some may fall to the lies of the false teachers and false prophets even though they call themselves chosen and believe they are saved.  God knows the truth of the heart of each one and He will be the final say no matter what we think or believe in our own human minds.  I believe this is a warning to not think so highly of ourselves that we think we cannot be outwitted/seduced/deceived by the devil. Good people fall into his traps every day.

If I remember rightly Peter succumbed 3 times to the devil just on the night of the crucifixion.

Jesus' warning still stands:

Mark 13:5-6 - And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many.

Romans 16:17

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

I am seeing a lot of this on Worthy.

For example? This is kind of a vague charge to make (i.e. link to a thread)

We are responsible to share the true literal Word of God. We are not responsible for people's response to the good news.

What do you mean by "the true literal Word of God"? Is that equivalent to the gospel?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
