We are all aware of the flood in the book of Genesis that supposedly occurred many millennia back; but according to the book of Enoch this global flood is due to occur in the future.

Keep in mind that the Book of 1Enoch was written before the flood.    At least the knowledge within the book came from before the flood.

Quite right other one,

The book of Enoch, supposedly from the Enoch seven generations from Adam was shown these things before the flood in Genesis with Noah. But the flood in Enoch LIV:7 is supposed to occur during the end times, as the whole book primarily pertains to the final distant generation who experience great tribulation.

Enoch 1:1 The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed. 2. And he took up this parable and said--Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come.

Let me see if I have this right.  Because you believe Enoch is scriptural, you hold what is written in that book above the word of God?  God promised never again to cause such a flood, yet you continue to push that it will happen again.  Please explain why you believe God a liar and Enoch the only truth spoken about this future flood.

Genesis 9:11

Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.

I do believe the book of Enoch to be the Word of God, as Enoch is mentioned in Genesis, Luke, and Hebrews, and is quoted by both Peter and Jude.

Which is why one should never take the book of enoch as scripture. Its heretical in nature and blatantly contradicts scripture at multiple points.

Sure it makes for an interesting read, perhaps like that of a commentary, but it is far from being inspired.

Enoch was indeed a real person...but theres zero evidence he wrote this book...and little to no evidence this is the book referred to in the NT. The book of enoch we have today is definitely NOT scripture.

Since God promised to never flood the earth again, that simply can not be.

It actually doesn't qualify to be part of the cannon, but I do believe that what it contains to be true for the most part...

@luigi So how did the book survive the flood; and if it's inspire word of God, why isn't it in the Bible?

The BOOK of Enoch isn't quoted in the Bible; Enoch, the person, is quoted.

Jude: 1:14 "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints"

That doesn't mean they were quoting a book.

The stories were handed down through generations. Just like the data in Genesis.

Jude 1:14 which mentions the Lord coming with ten thousands of His saints appears in the book of Enoch I:9. And since the book of Enoch precedes the book of Jude; the book of Enoch is then part of the bible.

Additionally, Katie, much of what is written in the book of Enoch appears paraphrased in the book of Revelation. So again, the book of Enoch is in the book of Revelation.

The main reason the book of Enoch is not accepted as the inspired Word of God, is the same reason why the book of Revelation was almost removed from the Canon. Many of the depictions in the book of Enoch are even more surreal than those in the book of Revelation. If, however, you understand what those depictions represent are, then the surreal aspect disappears.

Keep in mind, that prior to written language, the stories were passed down through the generations, until they were finally written down. So while you are correct that God did promise to never destroy the earth again by flood; I have to wonder if it is the world of Noah that is completely destroyed by flood, or if it is the world of the generation at the end times described in the book of Enoch that is destroyed by flood.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
