Both of those were nearly cut from canon.

I am aware of that. Thanks.

Again, as Patriot just finished saying.... The book of Enoch has some truths & many Contradictions with the Word of God..... Theres not much else to say regarding anything that mixes in anything that opposes Scrioture, doesnt matter when it was written or by whom it was written

Typical of the enemy to mix in lies with some truth, hes done it since the beginning( before the Torah was Written and we are told he is the father of lies...... The book of Enoch is NOT Scriptural- readers be wise!

The devil is incapable of any truth.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Citing some truths does not mean there is any truth in him.... he most certainly quote some truths and mix them with lies, twisting Gods Truth just as he used Scripture wheb he tried to tempt Jesus..,.. 3 times in the wilderness( Matthew 4:1-11)

Enoch I:9 And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgment upon all, And to destroy the ungodly: And to convict all flesh Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

If you cannot see that Jude 1:14-15 derives from Enoch I:9, then there is really nothing more for me to say.

See what? It could be from that book. It could be from the original book and this one copied from it. It could both come from the same ot prophesy. Theres a lot of possibities.

What i fail to see is how you can blatantly ignore all the inconsistencies and contradictions between the two books, many of which have been brought forth in this thread. Furthermore you have no clear answer for them. Its because there is none, the absolute only way to believe the book of enoch is divinely inspired is through wilful ignorance. And if you refuse to look at the truth of the matter which is found in the Bible and not heretical books-then your right, there is nothing else to be said.

The first thing that appeared is that the Lord Jesus who is referred to as the Elect one in Enoch has returned to the earth and great wisdom is poured out like water upon the faithful, which in their hearts has replaced the consumptive system destroying the earth, that still continues to some degree among the faithless.

Sorry, but the above quotes, raised red flags for me.  If this is what the book of Enoch is about... I want NO part of it.

So basically what you are saying is that some of the book of Enoch is truth, while some is not? So Enoch was a prophet of God, while at the same time, he also advocated lies from the devil? I will choose to believe that Enoch was a prophet from God and did not advocate lies from the devil.

I have not read any of these many inconsistencies in the book of Enoch which you claim have been brought forth here. You would have to point some of these inconsistencies out to me.

The Book of Enoch is a bit weird. Though certain parts appear inspired there are others part which betray certain themes of Biblical Scripture, for example the canonical Bible does not give demons, not even Satan, the honour of being called by name yet the Book of Enoch does. This to me is enough to throw it out. It is as if someone took the original work of Enoch and then tried to create a story surrounding the nephilim as mentioned in Genesis 6. I am fully against the interpretation that fallen angels married humans simply because I do not hold a YEC view and because Christ said angels do not marry, they are not flesh and blood and cannot procreate, rather I see the sons of God being Adam's male descendants who took women from other humans, them being the daughters of men. Scripture tells us Cain found a wife before Adam and Eve had Seth and other children, so Cain did not marry a sister. Their offspring would later become the nephilim, the fallen ones.

We believe that the Lord Himself made sure that the canon His Church has available is precisely what He intended us to have.

This is essential. Essential that we all agree on this.

It is also clear that NT writers read enoch (or what is called enoch) and quoted it. Those guys read lots of stuff including the Greek philosophers.

This does not make it scripture and all to be taken with a salt grain and measured with and by scripture.

The LOrd gave us we we need essential to salvation and learning about Him.

The rest can be some fun and interesting, but can also be a distraction....rabbit hole.

:-)

I am not argumentative or want to sway this thread, but it’s essential and relevant. Your opening sentence questions theology and our canon; which canon? What is “precisely what He intended us to have?” Please bear with me for my example and explanation.

I wrote a book on Revelation. In the process, I needed to obtain permission to use copyrighted pictures and materials to use, quote, and credit. Namely, I wanted to use the intellectual property of the ESV Bible for some quotations and comparisons of scripture and meanings. The ESV, along with many other Bible translations, are copyrighted. What does that mean in a practical application?

I email the publisher and owner of the ESV copyright, asking permission to quote multiple verses for my book and share. You may freely copy X number of verses, but royalties are assessed for anything above those limits.

The questions become, on God’s word: Which version – translation did God preserve? Is God okay that it is man’s intellectual property of His word, having to pay to share and quote His word freely? If an intellectual property requires a 15% variance from the source material used, how accurate and trustworthy is it now?

Thats not at all what Ive said & Im not going to engage in any further discussion because Im pretty sure you know exactly what I am saying....

If you choose to believe writings outside of the God Inspired, Infallible Written Word then thats your decision but there is no way you can justify heretical writings

  Anyway, done here.....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
