Just saw something interesting. A recent Gallup poll is showing that 71% of respondents now say homosexuality is morally acceptable, with only 28% saying it is not. That amounts to a 30% jump in those who favor it (up from 40% to 70%) in just two decades.

If this is the case, and if that's how quickly public opinion is changing, we should assume that Western society will be approaching almost universal acceptance within just the next 20 years. I wonder how many Christians will still stand for what the word of God actually teaches on the subject by 2040.

God is still on His throne and can turn anything around for good.  Back in the day I became an unwed mother and was so grateful not to be stigmatized and shunned, but was extended compassion and allowed to keep my dignity by being called a "single mother".  I don't know how I could have lived it down otherwise, and all these things having to do with my circumstances helped to prepare my heart for the gospel and a few years later the Lord came calling and I was saved.  Think I've really only just begun to understand how mercy triumphs over judgment, the Lord has begun opening my eyes to this.

Jesus came not to condemn but to save...it's not for us to condemn and reject lost souls but to proffer His mercy and compassion...His kindness leads to repentance...it is God who knows all things about each soul and will righteously and justly judge everyone in the end.  This world is terminally ill with sin and dysfunction, and it is sad to see, and instead of judging/condemning, rejecting and worrying, we need to be interceding for these folks.

With homosexuals I think behind all the bravado we see people who mostly have been hurt and wounded in their growing up years.   We all were sinners who had lost our way at one time as well, and Jesus had compassion and mercy on us while we were yet sinners.

Sin is sin and the gospel message is the same to all regardless of what kind of sin they became ensnared in.  If you ask me there is that God is using the changing circumstances of our society to test and try US....so truth be told we really need to be examining our own hearts in these days, not our neighbours'.   :)

Sometimes I think it's like the devil is flaunting his feathers in our faces to try and make us believe he has the upper hand...but he doesn't, God is very much on His throne as always and we must not lose confidence in Him.  Not going to lie, it can be difficult and dismaying at times to see how things are going, but the truth remains and I have to remind myself as well, that we need to rise above whatever circumstances are presenting around us and be in the spirit, not in the flesh.

Yes,of course He Has but He Does not create defects, He Allows them- we want to assume the role of God ,& then cry when things go wrong

Hormones, fertility drugs, medicines with terrible side effects etc... Not to mention what we do to the animals we consume for food and what we've done to our planet, vegetation, waterways - I'll stop there

Defects began right after Gods Perfect Creation was Made with " the fall " where death, decay & defects originate with the introduction of " thorns & thistles "..... Nope God is not to blame for what we've made a mess of & continue to

With love in Christ, kwik

Yea I can agree with that,

I'd add by their own kind humans populate.

Humans are born with a sin nature so there's that as well. Maybe like when God allowed Lot to be tested, that might still be going on today as early as while in development

Blessings & greetings Sister

I agree with EVERYTHING you've said here and thank you for sharing a little of your Testimony- would love to hear more when you feel compelled, perhaps in the Testimony Forum...

I just would like this opportunity to talk about " compassion"... I get a feeling( might be wrong) because so many of us weigh in on how we do not condone or " accept" homosexuality that we are not compassionate towards the homosexual- which is not the case at all. In fact its quite the opposite

I know my Brothers & Sisters and as much as they( we,I) hate the sin,we love the sinner. There is no condemnation here only Gods Truth- which applies to all sin and ungodliness, that is for straight people who are addicted to porn, pedifiles & whatever..... Personally I dont ask or care what anyone's sin is when they ask me if Jesus will Forgive them, the answer is "yes" no matter

The thing with this LGBQWSZ blah blah blah is if you do not accept their perverted lusts you are " judging".....meanwhile what anyone does in their bedroom would not be anyone's businesses had it not been shoved in anyone's face

What's next? Parades for pedophiles, porn parades how about sado masochists( we can label those each a gender?) Its absurd.... Let's have 6 dressing rooms in clothing stores, one for each perversion- sounds ridiculous doesn't it?

By the way Sis I'm not addressing you- I used your quote because I agree that's all

With love- in Christ, Kwik

well they are busy working on it as they devote a whole month to the gay pride. weird, dont you think, that only a day is allowed for Mother's day and only a day is allowed for Father's day.

apparently it takes 30 days to change/break a habit

Let's keep in mind that afflictions like hermaphrodism and the like aren't related to homosexuality and the acceptance of it (which is the topic).

I'm drinking my coffee, @kwikphilly:laugh:

(still had to scroll up and check the title of the topic to be sure ;))

I will say it pleases the Lord that we bear with affliction on this earth, which is a hard thing for us to reconcile to be sure. I was born with a defective gene which causes a specific type of muscular dystrophy, but this gene was only activated after I passed the age of 50. I inherited this from my mother who inherited it from her father, and so on.

Just an example.

Beautifully put, HLM.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this here - maybe elsewhere - but I don't think the typical homosexual is actually a problem. I don't see them any differently than anyone else, at least so long as they are not throwing sexuality in my face, and I make friends with them easily and get along with them well, even when they know full well what my beliefs are. I have a co-worker right now who is lesbian, and she knows I'm Christian but is warming up to me a lot because I make her laugh and treat her kindly and respectfully.

My real worry is with the governments in the West. I don't think they are honestly concerned with the welfare of homosexuals near so much as wanting to undermine the influence of Christianity in society. That may come off as something of a "conspiracy theory," but I have been around long enough to see a number of trends leading in that direction, hence why I posted the OP. Biblical Christianity is not just viewed as "outdated" but as the enemy, and I suspect they are going to attempt to eradicate its influence one way or the other. The homosexual issue just seems like the most likely route.

God bless, and I enjoyed reading your post.

What's in the mind can very, some no doubt choose to be attracted to the same sex others though can't help to be attracted. It's like saying a straight person chooses to be attracted to the opposite sex, I never had to choose if I was attracted to women it just happens. I'm pretty sure no one here has to choose either though there might be some that has in the past who knows.

One aspect of this is not too often mentioned.

Choices we make in whether to act or not---coffee or tea.

I am a married man. My flesh is attracted to young beautiful women.

I choose not to entertain that temptation.

For the sake of argument we have a person that feels attracted to same sex.

Do they give in to that, or resist. \

I am speaking of those outside of Christ and still in their sin(s). They may not have faith, so all is sin--however right and wrong and what nature teaches is not totally foreign to them. They can choose to take a cold shower instead.

I am being a bit sarcastic, yet the point is made.

The enemy and society wants to make it more acceptable.

Good point about reacting to temptations but let's say someone can not help it, do they live with being single there whole life. A little similar is colors I have a favorite color blue and dislike red a whole lot, if society band all color clothes and only red could be worn it would be taxing to no end year after year end up going naked lol. I'm not saying I support the choice but to what ever it is thats affected from birth and it affects attractons can be a up hill battle but as far accepting whats happening its like taxes.

I don't think it's testosterone or estrogen that effects attractions though it may but I know highly feminine man that is married to woman because his is attracted when i first meet him i thought he was gay. I guess it's the many different ways the two are produced within both male and female, Adam had some feminine in him lol.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
