Can we talk about Job a little?

I'm probably gonna get chewed out here but that is my least favorite books in all the Bible( probably because everyone told me to ," read Job" for certain personal reasons when I was dead in sin)

Anyway,I still think Job was the whiningest, grumbling, complaining, wow is me,pity partier I ever heard.. ..Bless his murmuring self though,he remained Faithful & never cursed God!

Any thoughts? I'm asking for it,aren't I?

Lol.... You know I relate to your situation very well, too well!!!

Maybe I needed some more humbling too after the last " thing" over 10 yrs ago---- I didn't think I've forgotten anything,I didn't think I lost any humility,I believed I gave God Glory?

Or maybe He was testing what I had learned- apparently not much as I explained in the other thread...

We are such babes Brother- we actually think our half decades plus of study & maturity makes us " grown"

Hahahaha😘❤️🙏🫣

I think it needs to be said kwik that every time we get sick isn't necessarily because we were prideful.

Neither is every time we get sick a punishment for something we've done.

I surely can't see anything like pride in you here. Life is a process sometimes that involves physical ailments.

I have asked myself, do I deserve what came to me? I deserved much worse.

We certainly can do things to make it worse, but I have seen health conscious athletic people get very sick.

I guess it's only natural to question WHY something is happening. What can I do to help stop it? For me it's eat right and pray.

Since my life's goal isn't to live here forever, I do my best to stay as healthy as I can and leave the rest up to God who tells us to lay ALL of our cares on Him  because He CARES for us.

The key to Job is at the very end---well almost the very end.

Job 42:7 (NAS20S)   It came about after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, that the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, because you have not spoken of Me what is trustworthy, as My servant Job has. 8 “Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves, and My servant Job will pray for you. For I will accept him so as not to do with you as your foolishness deserves, because you have not spoken of Me what is trustworthy, as My servant Job has.9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the LORD told them; and the LORD accepted Job.

God Restores Job’s Fortunes

Job 42:10 (NAS20S)   The LORD also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD increased double all that Job had. 11 Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all who had known him before came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they sympathized with him and comforted him for all the adversities that the LORD had brought on him. And each one gave him a piece of money, and each a ring of gold. 12 The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning;

You're 1000 percent right Brother! Rain falls on the just & the unjust....

We do have a tendency to self examine, search out hearts- don't we? I know God does not Allow ANYTHING to happen without reason so I do often wonder, why?

We just cannot forget that liar, the accusor, the one who would really like a foothold!Let's ,in Jesus Name, kick em to the curb right now because WHATEVER God's Reason is for our Good & His Glory!Amen?

I see a lot of spiritual lessons in Job that come from a lot of angles.

His friends didn't really do him any service. The man lost everything, his family was killed in storms, he had boils head to toe.His own wife told him to give up and die.

It would probably take a miracle for me not to complain or at least question if I were in his shoes.

The book shows some of Job's ideas were wrong. There are chapters that deal with the lord reminding Job of His great power and ability.

When C.S Lewis wife died I believe he went through some similar thoughts and he wrote about it. It's tough to have a schedule and a life when all of a sudden the rug is pulled right out from under us through tragedy.

I'm not sure where to start since Job is teeming with lessons. It's a picture of the lowest a man can go without dying and I'm pretty sure Job might have thought he was going to die.

Another interesting parallel read would be Nebuchadnezzer whn he assumed the place of an animal. Talk about humility..only he was like an animal so he wasn't fully aware for a long time. Job was aware and didn't seem to have pride. Only God knows.

Still think he was a whiner🫣

I am sure to get worked over for this one...

It's not about righteous Job,  rather self righteous Job.  He accounted God's goodness to his goodness.  Which negates grace.

Read where God begins in on him saying," where were you when I..."

Few verses later Job repents.

God refers to Job as.perfect in his own ways.  We know now that God's ways are not our ways.

Uhh,with " friends" like Job had who needs enemies?

It is an incredible journey of lessons- I do love when God Sets em straight though and I do love God's Description of the things about the Universe He Created that no one could have known about in that time? There were no telescopes & they knew only as far as their feet could take them.     It really does blow me away, who could refute it is the Creator Who Spoke?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
