The general context if this scripture is speaking of gifts.   People want to be treated differently.   Some want opportunities and others want gifts.

I do think we should look at his commandment as a whole:::

John 13:34-35
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
NASB

That is very different than treating them as you want to be treated.

We were talking about BC before Christ. Not the NEW commandment He gave them.

I attended a church that preached 160 sermons on what it means to have the mind of Christ. Each sermon was based on a Bible scripture. For example Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" Jesus lived His life as an example for us to follow. Yet of course we are to love people in the same way He loves.

You do point out the difference between legalism and the true spirit of the law. Jesus clearly tells us we are to love our enemies. We are to do good no matter what they do to us. The Rabbi have 613 laws that show us how to love one another.

I spend hours a day looking at what's going on in the world today and I fail to see where Jesus is exercising that authority on planet earth except on some individual situations....   and as I understand it won't until he comes back in person and takes that authority very violently.

Well keep looking in the world, instant of looking at what Jesus said that the Gospel won't be extinct inspite of all the attacks against it at the time of it's infancy.

But it will spread and it will continue to be spreading through out the world...

Because Jesus reins, and no weapons that is formed against him shall prosper.

Do you know how many snakes have come against his disciples everywhere they went...how many Occult territorial defenders cast their spells to them, but Jesus said to them nothing will harm you, because he was protecting them the way he protected Abraham, when he said to him "I am your shield and your buckle...

Jesus before he died did not have the right to go to Gentile land...he was confined to the Israelites and their Land....but after the Cross those walls came down, Jesus died for the whole world and he has the right to go to the rest of the world because the door was open for Jesus, because the Devil lost his unique authority over the Gentiles.

The door to the whole world opened to Jesus Christ...God is not shut out from the world as he was shut out before the death of Jesus on the Cross.

I don't see how that fits into where I picked up in the conversation so I'll just not comment on that.  I was mainly speaking of who has control of this physical world.

So how's the body doing these days.....     falling away yet to make possible his return.

Satan is alive and well here on planet earth and will be ruling things through people until Jesus returns and locks him up for a thousand years.....    and after that he's coming back for a short time to corrupt the human race again.

It won't be over until he's tossed into hell and that a long time from now.   And we should not be deceived into thinking all can be well here on planet earth as a global whole until he comes back.   Individual people yes, but not global conditions and who is in charge politically.

This is above my pay grade, brother. I know one thing for certain and that is that He has always had groups on earth that are doing fine while carrying the torch of His testimony even in the midst of all of the error and chaos rampant in the visible christian organizations.

I prefer to focus on the good things of Christ rather than the enemy and his doings. I do understand your position, but my function is different than yours.

God Bless

Psa. 2:1 (KJVS)   Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

Jesus declared I have the key of David, I open and no one can close, I close and no one can open...

Where he is involved...and he is not envolved in everything and he has given the right to everyone to choose for himself...

And we have to share the space with everyone else...

Driving the other day in the suburbs...first a Moslem center, next block a Hindu Temple further down a Synagogue and a church...all in co-existence...

The Moslems take days off during their Holidays, the same for the Hindus are given their religious Holidays off, and the Jewish and the Christians.   This is our new world to day in most countries, everyone has to decide for himself, no religious wars the way use to be....maybe in some countries still are, but not between Catholics and Protestants...or between Christians and others even Occult followers...

Everyone would go to Hell if they died before they were saved.  Even the so called elect aren't born saved.  So yes, people who die before they are saved go to Hell.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Not of the World,

Now you question is -

Are you saved but believe you would have been damned had you died before you were saved?

Personally, I was saved when I was a child and grew in understanding of what that meant.

However, within that question is another thought than has been looked at. Let`s think of a person who has never heard of Jesus or His sacrifice for us, however they have lived the best they could according to their conscience.

I believe that person who died like that and eventually went to the Great White throne, would be judged according to their works. (Rev. 20: 13)

It will be because of Christ`s sacrifice that that person has eternal life, even though they at the time did not know that revelation.

So, that person living according to their God-given conscience (without knowing of Christ) would not be damned.

Marilyn.

I presume that MANY will be saved at that judgment.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
