Yeah by faith. I remember alone in the house age 15 I think and was praying said "show me what I have to do to be more like you". A week later or so in this bible study we went to as we were praising the lord one that ran the bible study lol...  just stopped said "Danny I don't know what this means but the lord said I will show you".

I think it just come naturally so to speak. The closer we get to Him He gets to us. If not in this age we will in the age to come for sure same with all those callings, gifts we think we never did.. will happen in the age to come.

Partakers of the divine nature - a key to this.

And.....thus we need to ask ourselves what does the divine nature look like. The eminent Bible teacher, Charles J. Rolls, (last century) said there are 42 aspects of the divine nature.

Jesus is called the `Bread of God.`

`For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives His life to the world.` (John 6: 33)

`I am the bread of life.` (John 6: 48)

Now bread is bought to nourish those who are alive, but Christ the Bread of God imparts life eternal.

The physical bread we eat is from wheat grown in the ground from where our bodies are derived. The calcium, silicon, iodine, phosphates, etc in an organic form are packed into the wheat in order to build up our strength.

In like manner, if we are to become partakers of spiritual life and immortality we must eat the Bread of God, which is made up of -

-         Righteousness, goodness, loving kindness, graciousness, perfectness, holiness, gentleness, merciful,

and such like which results in Godliness.

More of that passage in John 6:

47Truly, truly, I tell you, he who believes has eternal life. 48I am the bread of life. 49Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die. 51I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh.”

52At this, the Jews began to argue among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”

53So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For My flesh is real food, and My blood is real drink.

56Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. 57Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your fathers, who ate the manna and died, the one who eats this bread will live forever.”

Yes, and then we ask ourselves, `How do we eat and drink of the Lord`s flesh and blood? `

` And Jesus said to them, " I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst. ` (John 6: 35)

` It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit and they give life. ` (John 6: 63)

Yes, however Jesus said in relating to `eating His flesh, `

`....the flesh profits nothing.

The words that I speak to you are Spirit and they give life. ` (John 6: 63)

@Marilyn C So much depends on spiritual diet, right? :)

Which is why daily prayer and the Scriptures are so vital.....

By faith.

"faith working through love" (in Galatians 5:6)

While we do things by faith, we are effected by God's love which changes us to become like Jesus in our character.

Joh 6:57  As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.

Joh 6:58  This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever."

Joh 6:63  It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

As others have said, it is feeding on God's word that helps us to see Christ more clearly.  The Holy Spirit uses the words of Christ to infuse us with His life.  Through this route the living water of His Spirit then flows out to others.  We see God's dealings with Israel as well as Christ weeping over Jerusalem, that He would have gathered her to Himself like a mother hen gathers her chicks.  Such loving compassion for those who reject Him.

We behold Christ and are conformed to His likeness as we perceive God's heart.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
