So what part of the Word is forbidden to us?

It is not a question of what is in the Bible, but how God presents truth to a Bronze Age audience. What little modern man has found shows there is a more complicated picture we cannot fathom.

To play the con for the sake of discourse. We do share 97% of our DNA with other animals. Much of it is obsolete, redundant or not utilized, especially with it comes to our Y chromosome. Something happened that we are not fully aware of yet.

And if your answers are any indication here, that 'something' involves us and apes.

We have - high level reasoning skills, creative abilities, the ability to 'pre think', we have positional awareness, we have high level social skills which involve a high level of language input. Simply put, we were created " in the image of God". No other creature or creation on earth was given this designation. This seperates us from all others by a vast distance.

Looks to have began right about the time the web was beginning to get bigger with more access to information.  It isn't that men are more intelligent now. We simply have access to the answers more readily than we once did. We went from dusty libraries to immediate access to up to date infomation.

The difference is most notable from people about a century ago.   But I don't doubt that electronic media and access to knowledge has helped to make us more intelligent in some ways.   Maybe less in other ways.    One philosopher (Socrates?) decried writing, arguing that ready access to written knowledge made men less intelligent.

This is a statistic based on a series of tests without a huge consideration of individuals taking these tests. In addition, later students have become good test takers, especially with the introduction of AI. Instead of learning the reasons and logic behind the answers, they simply learn the anwsers to pass a test.

IQ tests are not really fair on some levels at acertaining all levels of intelligence. The tests are only looking at what they think intelligence looks like. It's a fair try and not lacking in any value whatsoever, however, the tests are linear inside the box types of tests.

Well, over the past 100 years, our intelligence has improved markedly.

That seems to be concentrated in certain ethnicities and cultures with the opposite occurring in others.

It would be a topic best suited for its own thread, and probably one that would end up shut down in short order due to the nature of the discussion that would surely ensue from it.

As Wittgenstein might say "“Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.”".

And so in the same manner our glorified bodies will be separate form our present form. It is reasonable to speculate God could establish a unique individual from a given poplutaion to create something greater though his offspring.

IQ tests are certainly not the end-all, be-all, as many psychologists would recognize something like 7 types "intelligences".

Large-scale education of all citizens certainly would have a role to play in improving overall intelligence and access to broad knowledge.

Humans in the past were certainly no dummies, but mainly did not have access to the technology and materials science that has been developed over the last 200 years or so.

As I said, you must understand Genesis 1:1 to understand anything.

What I see is a return to our Adamic state before he sinned. Whatever we were prior to that time, we will be returned to. The human bodies we now have are degraded as a result of sin.
