The Four Beast of Daniel 7

Daniel chapter 7 was written about 35 years after Daniel's vision of the great statue in chapter 2, in the first year of Belshazzar who was the last king of Babylon.  It depicts four end-time beast and isn't a historical repeat of chapter 2.  Why would God find it necessary to repeat the same message in two different visions by the same author? Interpreters say that the Lion of Daniel 7 is ancient Babylon.

How can the lion be Babylon when the Empire had risen some 50 years before and was on its way out when Daniel 7 was written?  Why would Daniel prophesy about a kingdom 'RISING' that was already in existence for about 50 years and soon to end?   Some atheists have actually caught onto this blunder and used it to debunk the bible by calling Daniel a false prophet which he would certainly be, since he prophesied about a kingdom 'RISING' that was already in existence.

A PROPHET CANNOT PROPHESY ABOUT SOMETHING ALREADY IN EXISTENCE WITHOUT TRULY BEING A FALSE PROPHET!

Most interpreters think that the vision of wings being plucked off and the heart of a man given to it refers to Nebuchadnezzar going mad and being restored 7 years later. That's unlikely since that happened about 20 years before Daniel had the vision! AGAIN!  Daniel cannot prophesy about something that already occurred!  The lion could certainly be today's Iraq.  The wings being plucked off could represent the U.S. military leaving Iraq.  Some people think maybe it's England.  But it can't be ancient Babylon.  I'm not sure what it represents.

All four beast of Daniel 7 are end time empires.

Daniel 7 shows the spiritual cause and Daniel 2 shows the natural effect.  The earthly kingdoms of Daniel 2 are the natural manifestations of the evil princes depicted as beasts in Daniel 7.  This natural / supernatural correlation is made clear in Daniel 10.  The beasts of Daniel 7 have spawned kingdoms in the past, and they will also have a role in the end times.

One thing for sure, they are all end-time kingdoms.

They are all active in supporting the fourth beast in setting the stage for the man of sin.

That's right.  This prophecy was given during the reign of Babylon, and King Neb was already gone.  It was his son or grandson ruling at this time of this prophecy.

Not all four are end time empires because there is a progression going on showing what comes after the kingdom of Babylon ends...   In the first three kingdoms, the KINGS who would arise are mentioned.

The Lion is Darius - King of the Mede's.  He was given a man's heart when he saw that Daniel was saved by his God.  He praised the Lord God and gave him glory, and changed the laws because of this;

It is revealed in Daniel chapter 6 who this Lion is;

Daniel 6:24   And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.

Daniel 6:25   Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

Daniel 6:26   I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

Daniel 6:27   He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Daniel 6:28   So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

King Darius saw the power of the Living God and declared it making a decree.  This is a total change of heart coming from a Pagan king!  A man's heart given to him.  He is the Lion.

The 2nd beast

Daniel 7:5   And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

The next King to to be mentioned would be the King of Perisa, .....not the first King who teamed with the Mede's, but the fourth Persian King ruling with them.  The last king during the Medo/Persian reign.

The answer is revealed in Daniel Chapter 11;

Daniel 11:2   And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

And there it is, revealing who the bear is in Dan chapter 7.  It's this fourth king of Persia who would die after stirring up Alexander of the Grecians.  The three ribs are the three kings before him.

I hope this helps to shed some light.

King Neby's dream of a statue are/were 4 Kingdoms... 1. Babylon; 2. Medo and Persia; 3. Greece; and then 4.  Rome.  The beasts mentioned in Daniel 7 are the Attributes of these 4 Kingdoms.  There are only 4 Kingdoms in King Neby's Dream.

Music to my ears Stormy Monday,

Now, I was taught (& believe) the 4 super powers of our day well before they had all arisen. (So, it is not newspaper prophecy as some would try to say.)

They are four great beasts, meaning great kingdoms/empires/federations of our day. And they are called by the world the Big Four - Britain/USA, Russia, EU, & the UN. obviously the UN is not a great power so the 4th beastly power has yet to arise.

Each great power arose after a great war.

1. Napoleon wars - British Empire arose. The emblem of the Lion refers to a Monarchy and that is the only great power there that has that. The wings broken off refers to America breaking away, but still working in together.

`It was made to stand on two feet like a man; and the spirit of a man was given it.` (Dan. 7: 4)

Here is transformation. Until now the outlook and operation had been that of a powerful, imperialistically, conquering, dominating, and colonizing. Suddenly there is a remarkable change to the higher qualities of the spirit of man. In Political language, co-existing in freedom, peace and equality with its former dominion. An Empire becomes a Commonwealth of Nations.

2. WW 1 - The Soviet Union. This great beastly Soviet Bear is well known in many posters (eg 1979 Olympic Games) as a friendly bear, but in reality it made for itself one dominion, devouring country after country behind the iron curtain. Then in 1991 the monolithic Soviet bear disintegrated and the President of Russia took control. (the prophet Ezekiel shows this. Ez. 38: 12)

3. WW 2 - The European Union. Europe was decimated after WW 2 but the Allies gave it power. Thus, 4 leaders (four heads) denoting a multiplicity of authority or government united for a common purpose. Six countries of Europe agreed to a commercial unity of purpose in a common market. However, at the time of inauguration, three of these countries, Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg combined their representation and voting into one entity called `Benelux.` Thus the European Common Market commenced with exactly four authorities or `Heads,` France, Germany, Italy and Benelux. This was precisely as predicted. (Dan. 7: 6)

4. WW 3 - Islam. This terrifying beast does not have an emblem. It is completely diverse to all its predecessors. A ferocious formidable beast. it is absolutely awesome in its unmitigated ruthlessness, savage brutality, and universal power. What cannot assimilate it will absolutely crush.

Note: We are seeing a foretaste of its ruthlessness today in the Middle East and Africa.

While the four kingdoms in both Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 are the same, there is information in Daniel 7 that is not in Daniel 2.

Such as, Daniel 7:13-14, Daniel 7:20-27.

I think there's no doubt the dreadful and terrible beast is ISLAM.  We also should keep in mind that the word mixed which describes the iron and clay is the word ARAB.

Islam will be reduced to nothing in the Ezekiel 39 Gog/Magog event.

To study eschatology, there are three steps.

First:   Ezekiel 39 provides the framework for the 7 years 70th week of Daniel 9:27.

All of the end times events associated with a timefame such as the 2300 days, the time/times/half time, the 1290 days, the 1335 days, the 1260 days, the 3 1/2 days, the 42 months - fit within that 7 year frame work.

Gog/Magog - then the seven years in verses 9-10 - then Armageddon in verses 17-20 - then Jesus Himself speaking in the text in verses 21-29, having returned to this earth.

------------------------------------

Second:  The five stages the arch villain goes through on the way to his demise.  Study about him and those five stages.

the little horn - leader over a group of ten EU leaders

the prince who shall come, following the Gog/Magog event.

the Antichrist - temporary King of Israel, thought-to-be messiah by the Jews.

the revealed man of sin - ending his time as being the Antichrist

the beast- king, dictator of the EU.

-------------------------------------

Third:  Developing an overall big picture of how all those things fit together into the 7 years frame work - ending the day that Jesus returns, as Jesus Himself is speaking in the text of Ezekiel 39:21-29 having returned to this earth.

Matthew 24:15-31, and of course Revelation 6-20 are major components to the study of eschatology.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
