I am not aware of an over abundance of babies nor young children  up for adoption. I am aware that individuals within my own home church body work together to educate  young families on the process of adoption which can take two or more years and easily top $50,000 dollars in costs, with many an agent of  various governments around the world to have to pay off.  As a group there is much fund raising and encouragement to stick it out. Many babies have been adopted. One family now having five. Yes five but the process can be heartbreaking and financially ruining too.

My own close family  adopted three young babies/kids, now fully grown adults. One of my own extended  family, a couple has a record of housing over time as foster parents a total of 78 kids! Plus  adopting 57 of them  either as children or later as near adults.

That makes for some fascinating looking family gatherings. Want to feel wanted and welcomed? Just be around that bunch, they are amazing hosts, all of them. Step into their home and you feel like you have known all of them for a  lifetime within minutes. course if you like quiet you will go nuts there, it is a place of zoom zoom  close quarters, and happy  gregarious people.

I posted because I was aware that we don't hold the same position.  All I can do is hope that you can one day believe what the Bible says about the unborn.

Because we don't hold the same beliefs about the Bible and the unborn does not mean that I can't and won't welcome you to the forums.

Welcome aboard

Just curious....are you a Christian?   If so, do you believe in God's Word the Bible as inspired and inerrant?

. Do I believe that the Bible is inspired inerrant. That's a very difficult thing to answer because they're different interpretations of what is meant by inerrant. For example I was raised fundamentalist and that version of inerrancy is not what I would consider to be true. I think that the best statement would be that a Christian can make is that the Bible in its original manuscripts which we no longer have are inerrant and absolutely inspired by the Holy Spirit

I apologize for my previous statement i lost my temper . What i want to say to you jayne is that i do not have a problem with our disagreement i have a problem with your presumptions. You don't know what i actually believe about the bible or about what the bible teaches about the unborn.. I haven't told you you have made assumptions that are unfounded. In other words you have been rude to me and I don't appreciate it. And another thing I don't appreciate is being lumped in with the category of people that would say my body my choice let's go kill the baby. You did that in your very first post because you put that at the very end of it. You can claim that it was a general statement but I don't think so you are associating that with me and that is not me. If i misunderstood i apologize for that but that is how you are coming across to me .. fyi my cousin is dead because of a choice like that i never got to meet them because my aunt cared more about having a possession of real estate than my that childs life as i understand but what i know is she didn't have to do it .....my concern is not about thise who have a choice its for those who dont ...if no other reason the life and health of a mother must be protected...and at the same time , its still a woman's choice ... If it were up to me there would be restrictions there would be no casual abortions. But there must be allowances for rape incest and the life and health of the mother. It is not a black and white issue it is a complex to issue. I think for someone to say and you haven't as far as I know, that there should be no exceptions is a very cruel thing to do and actually is sinful in and of itself. Because you are guaranteeing the death of certain women. I'm going to say this then I'm going to walk away I'm not going to read your reply. And I'm not going to come back to this thread anymore. I believe abortion should be legal with certain restrictions which are rape incest and the life and health of the mother. But I believe that all decisions regarding abortion should be between the woman God and her doctor they should not be made under any circumstances by congressman or state legislators. And I think that the only thing that we can do is reinforce abstinence education provide appropriate birth control to people who need it free of charge. And try to spread Christianity the way that Jesus taught it . I wish you the best I ask you to pray for me I will pray for you. Again I'm not coming back to read this reply I'm not reading the notification I'm not coming back to this thread.

This new poster has taken offense at something that I said.

He said that they are not going to read my reply so my reply will be for everyone who read his  comment to me expressing their pain at my post.

To peacemaker 324.....

Perhaps we have terribly misconstrued each other.  I took your comment that the government was not to interfere with our bodies as you being pro-abortion.

My sincerest apologies for misunderstanding  you.  I don't like hurting people's feelings.

I am sorry.

Well for once I think I understood, for I'm pretty much the same.  Though I do consider abortion as murder, according to the constitution the Federal government has no authority to say one way or another.  It's left up to the states, as it should be.

After Oklahoma Supreme court struck down two abortion bans, one law remains. Here's what it says.

Quote

The remaining law dates back to 1910 and punishes a person with two to five years in prison for administering or advising a person to end a pregnancy at any point unless it is "necessary to preserve her life."

In March, the Oklahoma Supreme Court said the state's constitution includes the right to end a pregnancy "at any point" if a physician believes that the continuation of a pregnancy would endanger the woman's life. The court also said a person does not have to be near death to terminate a pregnancy.

"Absolute certainty is not required," the court added in March. However, it said, "mere possibility or speculation is insufficient." It struck down a law that prevented an abortion to save a woman's life unless she was in a "medical emergency."

Rabia Muqaddam, an attorney with the Center for Reproductive Rights, said the court's decision to end two abortion bans on Wednesday — leaving the 1910 law as the only ban — should help doctors feel more comfortable in deciding to perform an abortion in order to save a pregnant person's life.

"The court's (decision) requires doctors to use their judgment, and we hope the decision will provide comfort to physicians," Muqaddam told The Oklahoman.

There continues to be a need for foster care parents and adoption placements, with about 117,000 children waiting to be adopted in the U.S., including 2,500 children in Pennsylvania.Feb 6, 2023
Of the 400,000 children in foster care, approximately 117,000 are waiting to be adopted.

Adopting through the foster care system can generally be accomplished for under $2600, and often entirely for free, as these adoptions are through the public child welfare system.

Adopting an infant domestically through either an adoption agency or an independent attorney ranges from $20,000-$45,000 depending on where you live and the agency or attorney you choose.

The Federal Government offers a tax credit for qualifying adoption expenses of up to $13,840 (as of tax year 2018) if your modified gross annual income is less than $207,580.

When the government gets involved things change. When our daughters were still young pre teenagers we became a Foster Family for many years. Our girls loved it, becoming little mommies. My wife and I were required training regularly, local  and 2-3 times a year several day trips out of town for advanced training. It was all secular based, mostly useless  classes with mindless instructors. The special needs classes were great, along with medical info like treating seizures etc.

My wife decided to only take babies from birth to two years unless they were adopted first. Foster care can be a lot of problems with older street wise girls to a family with younger kids, so we took babies only.

Most were bi-racial crack babies. Beautiful kids. But un-responsive to normal stimulation. But between my wife and the girls constant care and talking/singing/playing with them within a few months they were normal bright alert kids.

Ours was a Christian run Foster Care we were with. The government eventually took it over with new regulations. These new regulations were getting harder to accept, regularly interviewing our family asking totally irrelevant personal questions.

We eventually quit due to the pressure on the family.  The older prime goal was to keep the child with relatives. That changed, praise God, to the goal being it was for the best interest of the child taken to a proper home.

A shame we lost our calling to be a blessing to those helpless kids. But thanks to government bureaucracy many others from our foster group also quit, and many were very dedicated to their calling. Seemed like the house became empty without a couple of babies always crying. Our daughters really missed them and had become very attached.  It was a blessing for our family none the less.

My aunt Pam in PA was a foster care mom.   She would take the kids to church and the kids all loved her.

One little girl begged my aunt to adopt her.   Since my aunt is a senior citizen, she was hesitant but the social worker encouraged my aunt to adopt the girl.

Aunt Pam is still going and has had her adopted daughter for several years.

There was no charge for the adoption.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
