I came across this question few weeks back, and i thought to share it here for more insight and biblical references

Question: Do you believe all your non-Christian friends are gonna go to Hell? How do you reconcile this with “people should be allowed to believe what they like”?

Typically this sort or question obscures the definition of hell, but as a Bible-believer I agree with the Scriptures that appoint all those unsaved to eternal damnation, also known as the second death, and choose not to be influenced by the normalising rhetoric of humanism which attempts to erode the foundations of the Christian Faith.

Quote:

The concept of the “second death” appears in the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. It is mentioned specifically in Revelation 2:11, 20:6, 20:14, and 21:8. Here are the key points:

  1. Revelation 2:11: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”
  2. Revelation 20:6: “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”
  3. Revelation 20:14: “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
  4. Revelation 21:8: “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

The “second death” is described as the final judgment and eternal separation from God, symbolized by being cast into the lake of fire123. It represents the ultimate fate of those who are not redeemed and do not partake in the first resurrection13.[Copilot]

No need to reconcile darkness with Light. God said you must be saved, born again, of His spirit.
I also once was lost, doomed to hell. But now I'm saved. God said believe in me and you shall be forgiven, saved.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

Simple child like faith in God saves. Many do not want to change their lifestyle and nor want to hear the truth.

"Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, `You must be born again

"Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.  This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”  Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.  Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”    John 3:1-21

Yes, anyone not born again will not be with God after death. That is why we share the good news gospel.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened"

          Matthew 7:7-8

Hope I helped you Forerunner...

Christians are to spread the gospel. We cant force them to believe, but we can pray for them to believe. Ultimately I trust that God knows the heart and that He is just.

The concept that folks should be allowed to believe what they like strikes me as a worldly view rather than a Godly view.

There's no need to reconcile it at all. People are in fact allowed to believe what they like, but there are consequences. Even in the secular world consequences for acting on erroneous beliefs are a thing and the statement "people should be allowed to believe what they like" isn't without limitation.

Someone wants to make stew from poisonous mushrooms because he believes they're nutritious, delicious, and totally harmless.

Another person wants to get into the panda enclosure because he believes pandas crave human attention and would never hurt a human.

No one in their right mind is going to think people harboring beliefs along those lines are sane and that they should be allowed to believe what they like. They're out of touch with reality, and no matter how much they might believe something they can't change reality. The world draws lines on how far that goes. God has also drawn lines.

I'm going to assume that the question refers to religious belief (not the "poisonous mushrooms are nutritious" kind of belief).

From a secular/government point of view, people should be allowed to believe what they like - otherwise you get religious persecution.

My belief is that non-Christians are facing the judgement of God and eternal destruction. Therefore I will try to persuade them to follow Jesus. But I can't force them to believe, and I won't persuade them by ramming Christianity down their throats. So if they reject Christianity, I have to allow them to do so - and I have to stay on good terms with them, in case they change their minds in the future.

It is given, by understanding of God's Word, to mankind truth or lie... it is that simple... if choosing lie you cannot be of truth vice versa ... Truth is of God and lie is of satan... choose you this day whom you will serve!

This two-part question is always a tough one and can get you in trouble with Christian fundamentalists real quick, as Billy Graham even discovered.  However, it's only tough when answered from the complexities of religious dogma, or man’s design of the requirements for entering Heaven. Somehow, I don’t believe God intended for it to be that complicated.  As to the first part of the question, even if you are not a Christian, lived in the pre-Christian era, or someone never exposed to the gospel, but seek and love God (as He makes himself known to you), repent of your sins and change direction, aren’t you still asking Him to save you no matter your religion or lack thereof?  Christian fundamentalists will quickly answer, oh but you must accept Jesus as your savior to be saved.  Yet, they will turn right around and say Jesus and God are the same…   As to the second part of the question, ‘believe what they like’ is too much of a stretch for me.

Truth and consequences, reality, and deception: If I am representative of humanity, I have pondered who am I, why am I here, what is my purpose, and where am I going. In the history of time, I have only a vapor of time to form my faith and beliefs.

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (James 4:14)

Set apart from all other physical creation, we are given free will, and free choice. Set apart from the animal kingdom and all other life, we possess critical thinking, reasoning, calculation, creativity, and a spirit that can guide us and know right from wrong, truth from error.

The preceding to say, we have all the tools to discern truth and communicate it:

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah. (Psalm 50:6)

The Lord sends no one to Hell. We send ourselves by rejecting the free gift of eternal Salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us. We can save no one; only the Lord can. Our job is to go and tell, share our testimonies, plant the seed of Christ, and reason with them, similar to what Paul did on Mars Hill. We are all called; the ultimate eternal choice is our own.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Every human being are the whosoever’s, by choice.

Question: Do you believe all your non-Christian friends are gonna go to Hell? How do you reconcile this with “people should be allowed to believe what they like”?

No I do not. Well if you were blind you would have no sin. You say you see your sin remains Christ said.  What hell and heaven are we talking about? India alone has thousands of gods. Mormon have  another book, Muslims have Allah and Christ yet not the risen Christ. Catholics have Christ and Mary but I like what one man said "why can't Catholics be right about Jesus just wrong about Mary". So I think you get the point.  In one thread they are talking about abortion which we know is a sin yet what is the world telling them? Its not a life yet, no life in it at all. Kinda hard to judge someone when they don't know what they did wrong.

I truly believe its so easy to be found (Saved) then lost. Like trying to teach someone about faith when they don't know the word of God.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So to have so many voices in this world about just GOD which one is He requiring them to believe?

Lol this popped up in my head "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

So He knows.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
