First and foremost, great tribulation (Greek: megale thlipsis) literally means widespread intense persecution.

Not sure what you mean by "adventure."

If by "adventure" you mean: an undertaking involving danger and risk; exposure to danger or loss (Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary), then one must agree that going through widespread intense persecution will indeed be an event where there will be inherent danger and risk of loss.

If, by "adventure" you mean: gladly hoping or longing for something despite the risks and dangers involved, such as longing to complete the goal of ascending Mt. Everest or longing to go on African safari to engage wild beasts, then I must ask: can you name anyone, just one person, that is longing to go through intense persecution?

Many people don't recognize that saints, the Body of Christ, have been going through tribulation from the very beginning.  John writes in Revelation 1:9 that he is "your brother and companion in tribulation."

Today, there are nearly 100,000 saints yearly butchered, raped, burned alive, beheaded, tortured and killed, all because they claim, and refuse to renounce, Jesus as Savior and Lord.  Many so-called saints turn a blind-eye to the brutality committed against these brothers and sisters because they're in other parts of the world, not in or a part of our western communities.

Jesus our God makes clear that one day, there will be widespread and intense persecution (great tribulation).  It is going to be in our western communities; saints will be rounded up by those that hate the name Jesus Christ, and we'll be told, just like saints are told in those other countries: "Renounce Christ and you can live."

I pray we all have the strength of God in us to proclaim the name and gospel of Jesus Christ even as the axe is about to fall on our necks.  Do I long for that adventure?  Not one bit. But I do know God cannot lie, and God told us that day is coming.  I also stand on the promise of God, to "live is Christ and to die is gain", and "to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord."  May God bless and strengthen each and every one of us. Amen. Amen.

Yes, they made it quite an adventure to be fighting during

the 7 year tribulation. But that was Hollywood.

Exactly, my friend. There are also the words of the apostles from Acts 14:21-22:

And after they had preached the gospel to that city and had made a good number of disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “It is through many tribulations that we must enter the kingdom of God.” (NASB)

Many of us have endured tribulation.

My mother died from Alzheimer's.  She progressed to the point of not being able to swallow and had legally forbid us of giving her a feeding tube.

The weekend after i retired, she was in the final stages of starvation.  I sat with her for three days holding her hand and talking with her.   She wasn't hurting at all and was very much at peace with things.  After watching that I can envision just going out in the forest and leaning back against a tree and letting things go.

I lost the sensation of hunger during the last year I was sick in the mountains. My adopted mother had to bribe me to attempt to eat something; the "bribe" was making sure whatever she offered was super-spicy. That temporarily restored a desire to eat food. The best thing for me to eat were tamales filled with super-hot chiles. I didn't have to fight to keep that in the stomach but there were times when even spicy food didn't interest me at all. Thinking about eating gave me the dry heaves.

That's how I would wake up; I waited until the dry heaves passed before I started pushing myself to work on her land. I'm so grateful that the dogs were big brutes because I could grab hold of one of them in the event that I was about to pass out. They knew what was going on and would guide me to a safe spot where I could rest.

I lost 40% of my body weight during that two-year ordeal. If it weren't for the Lord, I would have passed on because I was too weak to stand or walk very far.

I'm interested in what you personally have done specifically and what have you prepared to do to survive the tribulation. I'm sure others would like to know also, Ghostdog. Thanks..

Interesting question.  Here's a question for pretribbers.

If the gathering of all saints (rapture) happens after great tribulation and just before God begins pouring out His wrath, how many pretribbers will have taken the mark of the beast because they've been convinced that they'd be raptured before great tribulation begins?

Not the original OP's question. Pre-trib means before the great tribulation. Post trib is after. Seems your question fits them.

Revelation? Well it says "All those who live on the earth will worship it, everyone whose name was not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.".

Jerry Jenkins wrote a series of books about the 7 year tribulation. I read them years ago. They were interesting. They were different than the Left Behind Series. I think book one was titled "Soon" and book two was titled "Silenced". It is about how these people who became Christians during the tribulation survived by making this underground dwelling with enough stuff in it to help them survive.

It's by no means certain that there will be a "tribulation" of the kind envisaged by preppers. If there is one, it won't necessarily play out as predicted. It could take many different forms. So no-one can really be prepared.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
