Unfortunately no to both.

He was a militant atheist and mocked God and believers. Our parents were also atheists but, fortunately, came to believe but only after my brother died.

I do not know anything about your grandparents and your relatives and the people in your neighborhood to avaluete what you post. And I do not want to keep asking you questions. But you should consider them. He must have been exposed to Christian faith. Surely they celebrate Christmas in your neighborhood. What is hidden in someone's heart counts and we can not tell for sure for someone else.

Your brother has died some time ago and he had his day before Jesus Christ and our time will come the time when we die.

This is why some people say: when I die my suffering will end. And I will be in the Heavenly peace without the suffering of my sickness like it happened to my sister.

My older brother passed away years ago and he didn't believe in God and he led a very bad life. He was loving to our parents and to me, at least in his own way, but he was essentially a lost soul and was always in trouble with the police and did some despicable things. He died from an overdose. I know he's in Hell being tortured forever for his choices. I can't really bear to think about it because it's so sad for me. Will Jesus remove my memory of him when I'm in Heaven so that I won't have to think about him anymore?

Trust in the Lord about this. Revelation tells us this:

Revelation 21
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. And the sea no longer is.
2 And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying out, nor will there be any more pain; for the first things passed away.

Since tears are wiped away, and no mourning, I think we will somehow not feel sad for the lost, whether it is because we forget our memories of them or some other reason, but I do not think we will feel sad over their loss.

Only God and your brother "know" your brother's fate.

I have heard too man testimonies of people who gave their lives to Christ in their dying moments - some of whom He decided to save from death (even raised from death) so they could go on to glorify His name through their salvation. I wonder how many others God received into salvation before instead taking them to go home. I've also heard testimonies of people who sincerely gave their lives to Jesus in secret, but then seemingly live an unrepentant life, before ultimately learning to live-out the truth of their salvation. I wonder how many people die during the process of repentance and sanctification. Only God knows.

I'm not trying to be Pollyanna about the topic. Many do go to "hell" because of their determined rejection of Christ. I simply don't think you should be so adamant regarding the eternal condemnation of any individual.

My understanding is that family is a construct God created to protect us during this life. However, once we enter into God's eternity, our minds no longer comprehend relationships in terms of earthly families - we are all children of God.

In practice, I perceive that when my Christian Mother went home, her burden for my welfare also passed. While here, she had a family responsibility towards my care. She worried for me, cared for me, prayed for me, and had a personal love interest in my welfare. However, my mother now rests peacefully, as a daughter of God in the arms of her heavenly Father forever. As long as I live, she will be my Mother, however, from her new everlasting perspective, I am an individual spirit before God - accountable for myself.

When Jesus was asked, "whose wife" will she be in heaven (who had seven husbands on earth), Jesus basically said that relationships in heaven don't work like relationships on earth (Matthew 22:30).

You have absolutely nailed it. God is graceful and will take things into account that only he knows. My Mum is agnostic and she is almost completely deaf and his very poor literacy levels so could never really read and understand the bible. It troubled me for a long time thinking she was going to burn but my Pastor assured me that only God will be the judge and nobody else. It like someone being born with severe down syndrome? Will they burn, I should hope not as they have no way of accepting Christ as their Lord and Saviour. It'd a complex topic this one and an interesting juxtaposition in that one hand they have not followed the word and walked with JC, but on the other hand the were not born with the necessary tools to do so. Its like those people who existed before Jesus walked the earth. Are they all damned to hell? I should hope not. I know I am obfuscating a little bit here but essentially I think we are judged by whats in a person's heart and and not always the actions of the flesh although I think that will play a factor. Interesting topic

Thanks. I guess I just wish that God loved my brother as much as I do because maybe then God would figure out a way to get him to "see the light" so that he would repent and follow Jesus.

Of course, Jesus too must be sad about Judas being tortured forever just like I'm sad about my brother being tortured forever. Maybe Jesus will make it all make sense once I'm in Heaven with him.

Thanks again for your words of solace.

Yes, He will.  You can be assured of that.

Christ said.. if you were blind you would have no sin.. you say you see your sin remains. Most in this world are blind. Remember were talking about GOD who loved this world so much He became man and took all that sin was buried rose the 3rd day. We could go crazy here well you just start to talk about salvation/saved that thread goes for pages... just so much confusion. So are we talking about the Catholic Jesus, Mormon, Seventh Day Advent, Jehovah witness.. man I could keep going. Yet with in each one they know they have the  real Gospel the real Jesus like Muslims yet their Christ never rose from the dead. So which one is God going to us to?

A Muslim man in a Pakistan prison Christ shows up.. he runs to the corner crying saying over and over forgive me forgive me. Yeah.. that's what happens when He shows up.. He didn't know  who this person was but only that he was so unworthy and wicked. This person came over put His hand on this shoulder said "I forgive you". Then Muslim man asked "who are you?" He said "I am the way the truth and the life" the Muslim man said "that means nothing to me" He said "I am Jesus". He asked him "how easy was it for me to forgive you? The Muslim man said "where I come from as easy as drinking water". Christ shows him all the wicked people in the world said "as easy as it was for me to forgive you I will forgive them but who will tell them".

I love that story.. I saw him when he frist shared it.. he was a very evil man from Iran but every time he gets to the part where Christ shows up he weeps like a baby..even 15y later. Its a story not gospel

You need to know God knows how the fall happened and how Adam and Eve were tempted. He knows all the voices out there and how Satan with man have it so twisted today. Ever wonder after Jesus rose and walked this earth for 40 more days never went out preaching. What about all those people after He rose.. no one telling them about JESUS SAVES.. turn or (forgive me Father) burn. Granted that part didn't happen for a few more hundred years later.

We don't know Him like Satan and all of his angels do. They know Him in all this power and glory and freely left and do not ever want to come back. The demons see Christ didn't cry out forgive forgive us.. no "have you come to torment us before our time". Man born into sin only knows sin first.. then this flesh loves to sin no matter if your born from above or not.

I believe it is so hard to be lost and so easy to be found. It's ok :) Allot of Christians are in for a shock at who is in heaven. As for will we remember or know? Hmm well someone here talked about the great white throne judgement.. we all will see that and it will not be taken from our memory. Last.. always know look where you are at when you ask such questions... no offense.. but in this area you will get so many different answers. He was your brother.. granted only God knows the heart but ask Him.... it's ok :)

When I get to Heaven, do you believe that Jesus might be willing to make a trade with me? I will offer that Jesus simply annihilate my brother out of existence in order to end his forever torture. In return, I will give up eternity in paradise in order that I too will be annihilated out of existence in order to save my brother from horrific and forever torture. Do you believe that Jesus might allow it?

Well this is what I understand about the Catholic. They have the belief that when a person die, he then goes to a place called purgatory, where his sins can then be paid for there , after which he then goes on to heaven.  If you are so obsessed with your brother judgement, then you should check that out.

Look, you have to be thankful for your salvation and your duty now is to be part of the great commission in best you know how. You can't worry about the things you CANNOT change. You have to get past that and not stay in that predicament, it's useless as you well know.

I don't know the answer to your heartache. All I know is that the Scripture states, "He will wipe away the tears from our eyes."

That said, big virtual hug!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
