Many people have asked why traditional Judaism uses matrilineal descent to determine Jewish status, especially because for tribal affiliation, priestly status, and royalty, patrilineal descent determines membership.

The Torah does not specifically state anywhere that matrilineal descent should be used; however, there are several passages in the Torah where the child of a Jewish woman and a non-Jewish man is considered a Jew, and several other passages where the child of a non-Jewish woman and a Jewish man is not considered a Jew.

In Deuteronomy 7:1-5, God prohibits intermarriage, saying “he [i.e., the non-Jewish male spouse] will cause your child to turn away from Me and they will worship the gods of others.” The Torah does not include a similar concern is for the child of a non-Jewish female spouse. From this, one can infer that a child of a non-Jewish male spouse is Jewish and can be turned away from Judaism, but the child of a non-Jewish female spouse is not Jewish and turning away is not an issue. Also, Leviticus 24:10 speaks about the son of an Israelite woman and an Egyptian man as “among the community of Israel” (i.e., a Jew).

On the other hand, in Ezra 10:2-3, the Jews returning to Israel vowed to put aside their non-Jewish wives and the children born to those wives. They could not have put aside those children if those children were Jews.

Those of the 12 tribes will realize that they have missed the summer harvest.

20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Part of Israel will have its eyes opened and will accept Jesus as the Messiah and 144,000 first fruits are the first fruits of the coming harvest......the second fold.

And since Christ ascended there is one group or fold that knows Jesus is the Messiah. The second fold is still currently blinded and will not have their blindness removed until the fullness of the Gentiles come in at the Pretribulation Rapture which occurs at the Trump of God.

The second fold will go through the great tribulation and be raptured at the fall harvest at the Last Trump which is blown on the fall harvest feast of the Feast of Trumpets.

LOL. That got me laughing. Jesus separated a people to Himself with their own language and covenants. His people, His Elect, the Chosen people of God.

They were to be the first harvest, as the fathers of Israel were seen as the first fruits of the first harvest of the fig tree. However, they severed Baalpeor and were found as grapes in the wildness. Therefore, the Gentiles become the first harvest.

They do not get that Gal. 3 is really Paul chastising the Galatians for reverting to The Law over Faith. What I surmise is some Jewish Converts to Christianity came along and put their spin on being a Christian and that meant keeping the Laws of Moses as well as believing in Jesus, thus Paul called the FOOILSH, and then wrote a full letter showing why the Law avails nothing and faith makes us whole........THIS IS WHERE THESE GUYS GET CONFUSED. Paul tells them the Law was only schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, after Christ has come we no longer need the Law.

They take this as Paul saying we are all ONE IN Jesus, but if that is truly what he meant then there can not be Males nor Females IF there can be no Jews or Gentiles (they run from this, FAST) but of course that is not what Paul meant, the whole Chapter was.....

So, what Paul is really saying to these "Foolish Galatians" who started out in the Spirit/FAITH but were now serving THE FLESH (Law) was HEY.......Stop trying to be Jewish in order to make it to heaven, you do not have to keep any Law's of Moses, all we ALL NEED, is FAITH, both Jew, Gentile, Males Females, Slaves & Freemen, no law will ever free us from bondage, ONLY FAITH in Jesus Christ can do that.

They think it means God made us all one family, and we are all Jews now. But they never, EVER answer the question, is their now only one sex also? SIGH.

Who are the true Israelites of God?

Who are the legitimate heirs of God’s promises? It cannot be just those who claim to be descendants of Jacob/ Judah, such as the citizens of the modern State of Israel, or the many people groups who assert they are the ‘lost tribes’, etc.

The true Israelites of God are those individuals who meet the Covenant conditions, who by belief in God and in their moral and ethical behaviour, prove they belong to Him. 1 Peter 2:9-10

It was always possible for foreigners to become an Israelite, therefore parentage and actual descent is irrelevant:

 Leviticus 19:33-34…foreigners are to be treated as native born among you…..

Isaiah 56:1-8….foreigners who give their allegiance to Me will be acceptable in My House of Prayer…..I shall add them to those who are already gathered.

 Jesus said: Other sheep I must gather….John 19:16 and the Apostles made it clear that it is only by righteousness and faith that anyone is accepted into the House of Israel.    Romans 9:6-9, Galatians 3:26-29, Ephesians 2:11-18

So, to determine who qualifies as an Israelite person of God, we know:

1/ They cannot be determined by natural descent from Abraham, or more specifically, from Jacob. Nobody today, has proof of ancestry back to Abraham . However; genetic facts prove that everyone alive today, has some of Abrahams genes.

2/ They cannot become an Israelite by conversion to Judaism.

3/ Any person can become an Israelite of God by faith in Him, obedience to His Laws and the acceptance of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. John 3:16-17

 

Jesus is the ‘root and tree trunk’ of Israel. Paul said that the promises made to Abraham were to one Person and they are all ‘yes’ in Christ. Galatians 3:16, 2 Cor. 1:20

So now all we Christians, in Christ as His friends and working with Him, are now the branches of the ‘olive tree’ of the true Israel.

Jews have been cut off, but can be grafted back, as individual Christian believers. Bible prophecy proves that only a remnant will do that. Ezekiel 6:1-14, Zechariah 13:7-9, Romans 9:27

WE Christians are all true born again people from every tribe, race, nation and language. Romans 2:28-29, Revelation 5:9-10, Isaiah 56:1-8

 

This truth that: all righteous Christians are the Israel of God, Galatians 6:16, destroys the false ‘rapture to heaven’ theory.  Jewish Israel have been broken off from the Olive Tree and can only be grafted back, by having Christian faith.

The prophesies about Judah, the Jewish people, are clear: only a remnant will survive. Isaiah 6:13, Luke 19:27. Romans 9:27 They have set up their own religion and refuse to acknowledge Jesus. Romans 10:1-4

It will be all the true, righteous Christian people that will inherit the holy Land and they are the people who will display God’s glory and be His witnesses to the nations, in the last few years before Jesus Returns.  Ezekiel 39:21-29, Isaiah 66:18b-21, Isaiah 49:8-13, Ephesians 1:11, Romans 9:24-26

As promised, I'll now complete my answer to this post:

First, there is no such entity as "The Church!" Too many people have this concept that, somehow, God has built for His Son another entity comparable to the children of Israel. They are "The CHURCHES," plural, in the New Testament, Αἱ ἐκκλησίαι, or "Hai ekkleesiai," in Greek!

Now, Israel IS INDEED the "original Bride." However, those who were "in time past Gentiles in the flesh" are now "fellowcitizens WITH the saints (the holy ones of Israel)!"

We don't supercede the children of Israel, nor do we replace them! But, we also are not separate from them! Paul said to the Gentiles at Ephesus,

Ephesians 2:11-22 (KJV)

11 Wherefore remember, that ye [being] in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Cbrist (outside of the Messiah), being aliens from the commonwealth (citizenship) of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without (outside of) God in the world: 13 BUT NOW in Christ Jesus (the Messiah Yeeshuwa`) ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh (close) by the blood of Christ (of the Messiah).

This is why I turned to the Messianic congregations! They understand this, and we are Jews and Gentiles in the Messiah worshipping together in one ekkleesia, one "called-out" gathering!

Have you considered where in Scriptures the term "the bride of Christ" is used? There are only THREE locations: Ephesians 5:23; Revelation 19:7; and Revelation 21:9:

Now, before I quote these passages, it's important to remember that the Greek language has some "fatal flaws"; namely, it has no true "H" letter nor does it have a "Y" letter, and just for good measure, it also doesn't have a true "V" or a "W," either!

When a word in Hebrew began with a "Y" - a yod, the letter "I" - iota - was substituted instead, for in certain conditions, it SOUNDED similar to a "Y."

The "H" was a SOUND that one made when a word beginning with a vowel was given if the rough breathing mark (a backward apostrophe) was attached to the beginning vowel, such as in the case of "Υἱός μου εἶ σύ" (Acts 13:33) or "Huios mou ei su," translated word-for-word as "Son of-me art thou." --> "Thou art my Son."

The "V" or "W" sound was sometimes articulated with an upsilon, as in "David" ("Δαυεὶδ / Δαυὶδ" in NA27), and sometimes with a beta ("Δαβίδ" in TR).

So, the Greek language was INCAPABLE of transliterating the Tetragrammaton, "YHWH!"

They also had no true capital letters as we have today. While they did have "miniscule" and "capital" letters, they used them interchangeably, without the same import that we have given to our capital letters today. Some manuscripts were written in ALL capital letters! Some were written in ALL miniscule letters! There was no convention to the usage of capital letters.

So, instead of transliteration, they translated the Tetragrammaton into "κύριος," such as in ...

Matthew 4:10 KJV - 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, "Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, 'Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.'"

In both accounts, Yeeshuwa` was quoting from Deuteronomy 6:13, where Moses said,

My point is this: The Greek translators who translated the Hebrew/Aramaic to Greek for the New Testament not only translated "'Adown," 'Adoniy," and "'Adonaay" into "Kurios" but they also translated "YHWH" into "Kurios." That doesn't make them the same Person; it simply shows the same RESPECT! Even Sarah is said to have shown that respect to Abraham, her husband! For she called her husband "וַאדֹנִי," or "va'doniy,"meaning "and-my-lord" in Genesis 18:12, as noted in 1 Peter 3:6 as "κύριον," the accusative case of "κύριος."

So, bearing this in mind, here are the contexts of each verse:

Ephesians 5:22-33 (KJV)

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church (the "called-out" gathering): and he is "the saviour (Rescuer) of the body." 24 Therefore as the church (the "called-out" gathering) is subject unto Christ (the Messiah), so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ (the Messiah) also loved the church (the "called-out" gathering), and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church (a glowing, "called-out" gathering), not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. The major problem with the interpretation of this passage is that Gentile Christians FORGET how "ekkleesia" is used in Acts 7:38 where Stephen was talking about Moses:

"Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous [are] his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand."

"Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever."

4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying,

Here's verses 7 and 8 in the Greek:

Why do we assume here that this is more than one person? Verses 7 and 8 are clearly in the feminine SINGULAR!

The father of the groom determines when the room is ready. The groom does not determine the time of the wedding. “But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” (Matthew 24:36)

Sorry, but He "COMES AGAIN" BEFORE He "receives us to Himself." And, again, He DIDN'T SAY He was taking us back to His Father's House! There's that assumption again! His Father's House, His Father's "tent" (Greek: σκηνὴ = "skeenee" = "Bedouin tent," same as Abraham had in Hebrews 11:9, translated as "tabernacle" in Revelation 21:3) doesn't get here until AFTER He has reigned for a thousand years while haSatan is locked away and AFTER the Great White Throne Judgment has occurred, and the New Earth and New Sky are re-made!

Let me insert an additional hope at this point. When the Lord Jesus comes for His Bride, the Church, we will not be totally surprised. Although the Jewish bride did not know the day or the hour, she was expectant. The Apostle Paul in speaking of “that Day” said, “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day.” (I Thessalonians 5:4-5) Today, many in the Church are expectant and will not be totally surprised.

Again, the assumption is implied. He's not taking us ANYWHERE, except to where HE is going, to His homeland of Israel, where His Father has written His Name upon the mountains of Israel!

ALWAYS check a context for relevance! To whom was Isaiah 26:20 written? WHEN was it written? What were the background circumstances for the text being written? One cannot just assume that one can take a verse out of context and apply it to whatever suites him! That's just as bad as allegorical interpretation.

In my opinion, the Feast of Pentecost is still being fulfilled and will be completed when the Lord Jesus comes for His bride.

I believe that in the remaining steps of the Jewish Wedding process, the steps will be fulfilled for Israel in a separate manner.

The next appointed time is the Feast of Trumpets. The Feast of Trumpets is a mysterious time. Of all the feasts, or appointed times, little is said of it and no scriptural reason for the feast is given. (see Leviticus 23:23-25) A trumpet (the Shofar) is blown. Trumpets make announcements. I suspect that the Feast of Trumpets will be when the Lord in some manner announces the time has come for the fulfillment of His plan for Israel.

"The Feast of Trumpets" is Ro'sh haShanah - the "Head of the Year," or the Jewish New Year. One can ask what it commemorates, and one will get:

"Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year, commemorates the creation of the world by God and the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve. It's also a time of reflection, repentance, and looking forward to the coming year.The holiday marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period leading up to Yom Kippur."

And, Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement when God pushed the judgment on sins committed back a year. Not only did it commemorate God's willingness to atone for sins, but it also promised the elimination of sins altogether making fellowship with God possible.

At this point in the process, the Bride is always in readiness. She does not know when the Groom will return for her. For example, see Matthew 25 – The Parable of the Ten Virgins.

10 – The Groom returns with a shout, “Behold, the bridegroom comes!”
Jewish Wedding – This was frequently done at midnight for surprise. Matthew 25:6 (the Parable of the Ten Virgins) – “And at midnight a cry (shout) was [heard]: ‘Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him!’”

Scripture tells us that a prophetic day can equal a year.

“After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, [even] forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities.” - Numbers 14:34

The seven days the Jewish bride and groom spend in the wedding chamber appear to equate to seven prophetic years, which parallels the last seven years of Daniel’s prophecy, and is the basis for the concept of seven years of Tribulation.

“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.” - Daniel 9:27

This is a common error. The last "week" of the "Seventy Weeks of Years" is NOT the same as the "Tribulation." It's not the "Antichrist" that will fulfill the three statements in Daniel 9:27; It's the REAL "MESSIAH" of verse 26 who has fulfilled them!

The first 3.5 years of the last "week" were fulfilled in the "ministry" of the Messiah in His First Advent. By His very presence, He fortified the Davidic Covenant, just as Gabriel announced to Mary. He pronounced the Jews "desolate" in Matthew 23:38, and His death caused the Sacrifice and Oblation to cease. Not in stopping them, but through His own Sacrifice, He satisfied God His Father, thus ending the NEED for Sacrifice and appeasing gifts! God TORE the veil in half, and the high priest no longer had the sign that the sacrifices of animals were accepted.

Daniel’s last seven days (Daniel 9:27) appear to parallel the seven years of the Tribulation, while the Bride of Christ is in Heaven consummating union to Jesus Messiah and celebrating with the marriage supper. The next appointed time is the Day of Atonement. This indicates that at the end of the Tribulation, the Lord Jesus will return to redeem and make Atonement for Israel.

In the Revelation, the Return of Jesus as King of kings and Lord of lords immediately follows the Marriage supper of the Lamb. ( I think the Marriage Supper is Armageddon, the Feast celebrates our victory over Satan and his minions as well as our Marriage. )

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. ” – Revelation 19:11-14

Note that the “armies [which were] in heaven” were clothed in fine linen, white and clean, just like the Bride was given in the preceding verse Revelation 19:8. This identifies the “armies” as the Bride of Christ, Saints and Children of God, who will return in victory with the Lord Jesus.

It appears that this day will be the fulfillment of the Day of Atonement.

The next, and last, appointed time is the Feast of Tabernacles which was an eight-day event. It occurred at the time of the fall harvest, and was to be a time of joy and celebration.

The word tabernacle can be a noun or a verb. With the Tabernacle in the wilderness the word is used as a noun, but it is also a verb describing where the Lord dwelled, or tabernacled, with Israel. In the Kingdom Age the Lord Jesus will dwell, or tabernacle, with mankind.

As I said before, the "tabernacle" was a "Bedouin tent," the Bedouins' "home." This is the New Jerusalem as seen in Revelation 21:1-3. Also, the "feast of tabernacles," I believe, is the anniversary of the birth and circumcision of Yeeshuwa`. It's His BIRTHDAY and the CELEBRATION of His naming! This is why it will be a PERSONAL AFFRONT for people not to come to Jerusalem to celebrate "Sukkot" when He reigns as King!

Zechariah 14:16-19 (KJV)

16 And it shall come to pass, [that] every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17 And it shall be, [that] whoso will not come up of [all] the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. 18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that [have] no [rain]; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

The Feast of Tabernacles is about the Lord living with mankind and will be fulfilled when the Lord tabernacles with Israel and mankind during the Millennial Kingdom. At that time there will be a New Beginning for the Kingdom of God and His two brides.

The prophetic parallels between the Jewish Wedding and the Church’s Biblical Wedding are simply amazing! What a wonderful picture and wonderful hope this pattern gives to those who are saved and are the Children of God. And only the God of Creation could place this pattern within and throughout the sixty-six books of His Word. Our Heavenly Father is the ultimate Wedding Planner! May His name be praised forever!
