Wait a minute guys.

If you have a problem controlling your temper, does that mean you can't ask forgiveness for having blown your top and saying things you shouldn't have until you've managed to control your temper?

I use that as an example - but I bet every one of us have repeated sins in our lives like this, you know?

I agree Neb, He told us to forgive someone 70 times 7 in one day and I think He would be the same. I always ask for help to overcome the problem, and sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't.

Hi Kittylover,

The thing is temptation is never from God, it is from the devil. It is trials that God allows in our lives that our full character is being formed. It is good to pray to not be led into temptation. To rebuke it from your life. It is important to know the Holy Spirit intimately, Who is living in you; that you may have the freedom from sin and it is then a matter or will. As we grow closer to the Lord, we do not want to offend Him in any way, shape or form. Letting Him order our days and our hearts in His Will.

Such sin can be overcome and it is only if we think we cannot , that we will not. We can do all things in Christ.

Keep growing close to Him and resist all evil. We have many ways to grow closer to God and to find this your focus underlying all else in your day is a source of great joy and closeness to the Lord.

I do believe the Holy Spirit gives this strength to us.

If yoiu find yourself sick of confessing the same sin, purge the sin from your self. ASk God to help you to see sin as HE sees it. To see yourself as HE sees you. This helps in many ways. You will see more who God wants you to be and not only sick of sin itself- but beauty in who you are becoming in the Lord.

His love for you is great !

Take care,

Most of the time, we need to ask God to even give us the ability to repent.

We ask God for forgiveness because He's our Father, he's also our Judge, and our Lawyer, He knows even after confessing He is God that died and rose again in the third day and that he is soon gonna come again for us. we will still sin, because that's human nature.

The thing is, i dare you to say you enjoy the sins you make when you are a Son of God.

Believe him, I have sinned even when being a Son of God, but after all, you come out and realise, you didn't enjoy the sin you make, hence if a Son of God have sexual intercourse with someone that isn't he's wife, he will have remorse, he will have the worry that God is angry with him, the worry that he might get aids, the worry that he's wife won't forgive him, without God in our Heart, we do not know the truth between Good and Bad, so without God we enjoy sin, but, the truth is, we will end up being miserable without God.

BTW the Sexual Intercoruse stuff is a example, I am only 15

Yo, dude...would you please stop posting that all over the board? If you're a male, please seek the advice of another male in private okay? Thanks. We don't need specifics on the open board.

They are WAAYYYY off base nebula.

Can anyone honestly say when they can commit a sin - say lie, they know they will never lie for the rest of their life?

No, Deadman, I don't think we are "way off". Your answer does not address the question, which is not about being sure you will never commit the sin again. The question shows a clear indication of knowlege and consent that the sin will just be committed over and over again with no attempt at repentance. That is not the victory we are called to in the Scriptures.

Thankyou for all your posts but I think that neb knows me all-to-well

I am so tired of dealing with things and so fustrated with them that I just keep wanting to give up. When I look up and reason as to why I should keep going... it seems to make no sense because I know that when I pray for forgiveness of a particular sin or sins, that the temptation(as neb so fabulously said) will come and I will give into it, whatever that temptation may be out of the many. Then, following, I know that sometime following, whether it be sooner or later, I will once again come to the point of asking for forgiveness of that sin.. knowing it will come again and I will give in. My strength for these are gone. I have asked the Lord for strenght, he offered it and I took.. then I gave in anyways. I am fustrated and tired of dealing with the sins of this world. Honestly, I feel lost as to where to turn anymore. I keep telling myself, "Pray! He will listen and forgive and give you strength for later" but yet, I keep hearing myself say, "What is the point of asking for forgiveness if you are just going to back and do it again."

Kittylover, It sounds like you are living in "defeat" mode. There is victory in Christ Jesus and the Bible promises us that victory and the joy and contentment that comes from it. There comes a time when you have to stand up, say "It's wrong, God wants me to stop, I don't WANT to stop, but I am going to take action and stop, PERIOD" and have faith in the blessing that is going to come.

I say this from personal experience, not to rag on you. I spent too long whining and rationalizing a sin every which way from Sunday and was totally miserable. Which is good - we SHOULD be miserable when we choose to live like that. I finally stopped with the defeatist attitude, realized that I just plain could NOT have what I wanted and chose to obey. I'm not saying it has been a cake walk, but the blessings have been coming. What a wonderful thing to stop fighting God and walk in His will. If we wait until we "want to", we will live in defeat and misery forever.

I hung the lyrics of this song up and look at them frequently. I also play the song and video frequently. I hope they will help you too. This was a very popular song on the country charts in 2003:

Long Black Train

by Josh Turner

There's a long black train comin' down the line,

Feeding off the souls that are lost and cryin'.

Rails of sin, only evil remains.

Watch out, brother, for that long black train.

Look to the heaven's, you can look to the sky.

You can find redemption staring back into your eyes.

There is protection and there's peace the same:

Burnin' your ticket for that long black train.

'Cause there's victory in the Lord, I say.

Victory in the Lord.

Cling to the Father and his Holy name,

And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

There's an engineer on that long black train,

Makin' you wonder if the ride is worth the pain.

He's just a-waitin' on your heart to say:

"Let me ride on that long black train."

But you know there's victory in the Lord, I say.

Victory in the Lord.

Cling to the Father and his Holy name,

And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

Well, I can hear the whistle from a mile away.

It sounds so good but I must stay away.

That train is a beauty makin' everybody stare,

But its only destination is the middle of nowhere.

But you know there's victory in the Lord, I say.

Victory in the Lord.

Cling to the Father and his Holy name,

And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

I said cling to the Father and his Holy name,

And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

Yeah, watch out brother for that long black train.

That devil's drivin' that long black train.

*******************

I dumped my 'long black train' and refuse to ride anymore. :help:

It's missing something without the music, though. You can get the song and video on your computer at music.yahoo.com.

I just posted this somewhere else, but I think it applies here too:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
