My dreams have messages for me personally, but never for anyone else. And half the time it takes a few nights before I get it all cause I have to write it down or I will forget. I have wondered if it was God or if it was just my insides helping me work stuff out.

In ya'lls experience, or maybe from scripture if you know any which talk about this, how do you tell the difference?

in April of 1977, i had a dream, and a friend of mine had taught me how to remember dreams when i wake up, so that i could write them down...

Hi, interesting topic, dreams.....how were you taught to remember dreams? Sometimes I remember the odd dream from way back when, other times I can remember a dream for a short period the next morning or maybe a few days, but mostly they just fade away, get mis-remembered, jumbled and so on.... I do get that deja-vu feeling sometimes, usually over the silliest things, tho', nothing significant (eg eating an ice-cream and someone says something, and the whole thing is a like a replay exactly).

As for prophetic dreams and visions, I don't think I've had any of those, apart from once having a vision as a teenager which was when I received the Holy Spirit.

But how do you learn to remember them, (assuming they're meant to be remembered at all)?

Cheers

When they are from the Lord, they are so vivid. I didn't realize when my dreams first started that they had been given was for purpose of prayer. Then I vowed to God that if I had anyother like it I would pray. Then they started to happen more frequently and prayer was lifted up in each situation.

I dream about family coming to the Lord and they do. I dream about health crisis' and the Lord interviens in prayer. I dream alot about my parents-I've had some that were so insignificant to me but I decided to pray and find out later that it wasn't so insignificant to my mother. I've had a dream of a family friends car accident-by the time I had the dream-the person was in the hospital-but I had been interceeding for who ever it was I saw in the dream. By the time I found out who it was he was out of the coma. I was used of God in ministry in the situation. I have been warned about job issues. I have been warned about a missed car accident that would have happened when we had a tornado go through our town. I've had some cool spiritual dreams also.

I've had dreams that I have flown to other places- heard people cry over their situations and lay hands on them and pray. I wonder-is this real or a dream.

Candy770,

I usually do not dream about other people, instead, I feel compelled to pray for some. The times I have dreamed about them or prayed for them, and confronted them thereafter, it happened that they have been facing situations needing some kind of deliverance.

I'm not so sure about intercession; you must tell me about it because I'm still a baby in Christ and unable to attend church due to some awkward working conditions. I have indeed witnessed awesome responses to my prayers and there is always some kind of physical sensations when I pray. I'm now so used to them that I think I haven't made 'contact' with God if they aren't present. The funny thing is that I used to be so lazy to pray that the Spirit somehow convicted me and I had to change my attitude. My problem was that I did not know how to pray. The 'how-to' has been developping over time. I do not take a lot of time nor utter many words, but in experiences like laying my hands on somebody or praying by holding hands people have felt some kind of energy or electricity or whatever sensation they relate, just as I also feel it. In my case this is mixed with an overwhelming sense of joy, happiness and love that I can't contain in my chest, together with an exuberant drive to praise and praise and praise the Lord endlessly. Hallelujah! He IS WORTHY!!!

Irish,

It is such a good idea to keep a diary of these events. I think I'll follow your example.

Floatingaxe,

You do have a point and for some time I hosted doubts. My skepticism went away by finding Scriptural support for dreams, visions and prophecy as manifestations of God's Spirit through His people. The purposefulness of the experiences I have had goes beyond my conscious questionning. I have also compared my own accounts with what I witnessed or read about when investigating occultism; I arrived at the conclusion that we are spiritually apt to exhibit 'paranormal' phenomena. If Satan can produce them in some people to cause confusion why not God to confirm His message and fulfil His promises?

Have you all a blessed day.

The Lord often warns me in dream to use in intercessory prayer- Does God use you in the same way? Or does God speak to you through visions. Any cool experiences? This is fasinating to me.

He has not given me dreams, but He does occasionally wake me up in the middle of the night speaking in tongues and occasionally I end up in the floor flat on my face and I did not go there by choice.......

He also has made me aware that things are not what they should be and caused me to change my plans that most likely saved my life.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
