reviving this old thread because . . . . maybe i had a relevant thought  well, maybe not. but an alternative way to look at the issue: it wasn't so long ago that people were very firm in their belief that the planet earth was the center of the universe. (can you imagine the headlines if they did news the way we do today?) anyways, if the universe doesn't revolve around the earth, then just maybe it doesn't revolve around us puny humans either.

Why am I carrying on about this? Because when you apply the full scope of special and general relativity plus the hubble constant, the fact of the matter is, you ARE at the center of the observable universe in your own reference frame, even according to post-modern cosmology. No matter where you are, the observable universe has a radius no greater than 15 billion light years FROM THE OBSERVER.

I was sitting here by my pc reading your post and the grin on my face was getting so big I thought my face would crack. :21:

Thanks so much for giving this whole view another angle. One that speaks to logic.

Great going :);)

Thanks, and Blessings :noidea::)

that is amazing. and difficult. are you saying that you and i and oprah winfrey and president bush and the pope and bill gates are each the center point of the diameter (?) of the universe and each one of us is the same radius from the outer circumference and this would be true even if one of us was on the planet jupiter?

who cares who created god, if he was even created (which I don't believe he was), I mean its not like were ever gone know at least not while we live. Did any one stop and think that maybe just maybe he always was and that he was so lonely he created use so he would have companion, of course we went and screwed that all up didn't we.

Okay....It's WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY to early for this conversation....I'm still half-asleep....but even so, I'd like to run a thought that I had a few weeks ago past you guys, so forgive me if I'm less than articulate.

I know that it has been speculated that God created us because He was lonely, and this is a very sound theory.....but suppose that God created us for more complicated reasons than this?

I have another theory....but this theory only holds water if God created us AFTER the Fall of Lucifer.

We all know that Lucifer's pride caused him to wage war against God for the throne...and we all know the outcome of THAT war. Lucifer lost, and he lost big-time.

For you were bought at a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's

According to Scripture, our lives are to bring glory to God.....the question remains, though, what is the purpose of this glorification? God in Heaven is already glorified.......how is it that we must glorify Him, as well?

Well, aside from the fact that we are all children of God, we love Him, and we are to be an example to others is one major reason....but what if there is another?

1 Cor. 6:3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, the things that pertain to this life

Not only will we judge angels, but through our lives and service to God, we are also teaching them.

Perhaps God created us in order that He may be glorified, not only to us, but to Lucifer and the fallen angels? Think about it....why would Lucifer take such a vested interest in us? Not only because he hates the Lord, and wants to see the crowning glory of his creation destroyed....He wants to see God hurt....but what if defeating us is a way by which Lucifer thinks that he can disprove the Almighty Glory of God?

Why would God have taken upon Himself the agonizing death of the cross? While a major reason for this is His love for us, could there be another reason? What if God was out to demonstrate His glory to Lucifer by redeeming the creation which Lucifer set out to destroy....kind of like a continuation of the war...God has already won, now he's just out to disgrace Lucifer by destroying his work, which He did when He destroyed death on the cross.

Think about it. Why would God have allowed Lucifer to go on after the rebellion? Why wouldn't He have just disposed of Him, and sent him and his fallen angels straight into the Lake of Fire?

Why did He allow him to tempt man in the Graden of Eden? I'm sure that when Lucifer fell, he did not do so gracefully. I'm sure that he challenged God on many levels...perhaps we are just God's response to his challenge.

What if our existence on this planet serves to discredit Lucifer....we all know that we are here to glorify God. Couldn't this entail glorifying Him before the angels? If Jesus HADN'T died on the cross, not only would we be separated from God for eternity, but Lucifer would have, in a way, come out victorious.....not against God, but against His creation.

What if we are actually helping God to defeat Lucifer by discounting Lucifer's schemes? Think about it....the Bible DOES say that we are teaching angels. If what I say is true, then God AND Lucifer are still engaged in a battle of sorts. If God can redeem mankind, which He already has done, wouldn't this demonstrate God's great glory, and disprove that Lucifer has ANY victory over God.

So, then, what if we are here to prove something to angels....not only to the fallen angels, but to the Heavenly ones as well?

1 Peter 1:12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the Gospelto you by the Holy Spirit sent from Heaven - things which angels desire to look into

Think about it....when one person is saved, all of the angels in Heaven rejoice. I'm sure it's not because the angels love us so much....It's just further proof of the superiority of the God they serve.

I hear a lot of truth in this. I too am sleepy now also so not able to dive into it as i would like. but right off the top of my head there are scrips that might bear this out: for one thing, the entire plot of the bible could be said to be a trial - (and we thought o.j.'s trial was long); it makes mentions of all the elements of a trial. specifically we will be witnesses and judges, but like you say, to what exactly? we are presented with evidence and asked to reason. i'm going to to take another look into the book of proverbs tomorrow + i think the psalms may have much to say. and another thought on angels, somewhere in the scrips i'm sure i remember reading that they consider us courageous, at the very least they are very very interested in everything we do.

Who created God? Here's a link that answers the question.

http://www.christiananswers.net/q-aig/aig-c039.html

God did not need to be created. You can logically prove that there never was nothing. Something (or someone) always existed.

Nothing cannot create anything. Since there is something in existence it is reasonable to conclude that nothing never existed.

There never was nothing. It never existed.

Nothing cannot exist. To say that nothing exists is a contradictory in terms and descriptions. --if it exists it must be something. Nothing therefore cannot exist. Nothing never existed. There always was something.

The creator of something, simply always was.

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

A designer was needed to design the something into extremely complex forms, like DNA molecules, for example. Random chance is not design. The designer always was.---God is His name.

Now you don't need to ask anymore where God came from; since I logically proved that nothing never existed.

If you try to say that the universe always existed and was in a state of random chance, then you cannot explain where extremely complex design came from. Only a designer does extremely complex design. God designed it; random chance did not.

In order for a single cell to live, all of the parts of the cell must be assembled before life starts. This involves 60,000 proteins that are assembled in roughly 100 different combinations. The probability that these complex groupings of proteins could have happened just by chance is extremely small. It is about 1 chance in 10 to the 4,478,296 power. The probability of a living cell being assembled just by chance is so small, that you may as well consider it to be impossible. This means that the probability that the living cell is created by an intelligent creator, that designed it, is extremely large. The probability that God created the living cell is 10 to the 4,478,296 power to 1.

Example: 10 to the 6th power is one million, 10 to the 7th power is 10 million, 10 to the 8th power is 100 million, 10 to the 9th power is a billion; each time the power goes up by one, the number goes up by ten times as much. 10 to the 4,478,296 power, is a tremendously large number.

[The probability of this was calculated by Fred Hoyle, famous astronomer and mathematician.]

"Biochemical systems are exceedingly complex, so much so that the chance

of their being formed through random shufflings of simple organic

molecules is exceedingly minute, to a point indeed where it is

insensibly different from zero"

- Hoyle and Wickramasinghe, p.3

"The trouble is that there are about two thousand enzymes, and the

chance of obtaining them all in a random trial is one one part in

(10^20)^2000 = 10^40000, an outrageously small probability that could

not be faced even if the whole universe consisted of organic soup. If

one is not prejudiced either by social beliefs or by a scientific

training into the conviction that life originated on the Earth [by

chance or natural processes], this simple calculation wipes the idea

entirely out of court"

Ibid., p.24

Your faith demands I submit to a deity I have never experienced with any of my senses, of which there is no scientific basis for belief, who demands the killing of people for trivial, arbitary reasons (see your Old Testament), and whose only reason for "creating" me is to fuel his own ego - to bring glory to himself, as is so often stated by Christians. Anyone else with this behaviour would be scorned as an egotistical megalomaniac, but why not God?

Isaiah 55:9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts."

This isn't simply a man we are talking about here, with your finite minds you couldn't possibly ever understand the reasoning behind why GOD does the things he does. While yes he created all things for his name and for his glory, He creates us all for His purpose and you will glorify Him, whether it be in hell showing his Justice, or Heaven in glory by his mercy. But it seems like you never knew him, nor do you know Him, but I hope he grants you mercy.

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
