It's the world we live in UNFORTUNATELY. Child soldiers are NOTHING NEW it has been around for eons....Adults treating children badly is another human trait eg: chimney sweeps in good old England were as young as 8 and alot of the kids often met their deaths in a filthy chimney.

Child slavery, and so on.............

The thought of my sons being USED for the sake of war in an adults world makes me frightened to death.

My oldest son is a volunteer with the Invisible Children Organization. He is always sending me DVDs of children they have helped. Their stories are horrific. They began their mission in Uganda but now are spreading out to help children all over the world.

We all have a God-given responsibility to reach out and help in any way that we can. You can find Invisible Children easily by doing a web search. That is only the tip of the iceberg but we have to start somewhere.

Sometimes they enter military service wilfully, too...some families (mothers included) consider it something to be proud of...'cause, you know, there's a special reward for those who die fighting when they meet Allah :21:

Uganda is about a third Muslim. Is it only Muslims who are being forced into the military? Why does Uganda need to force ANYONE into military service; are they at war? Why are so many Africans converting to the cult of Islam? Why are Muslims so barbaric? Questions, questions. Does anyone know? :whistling:

I don't think it's only Muslims that are being forced into service...but it's probably only Muslims who are sending their children in willingly (I could be wrong, of course, but that seems to be the case from what I can tell).

Muslim teachers can be very convincing. They seem to have answers for a lot of things, especially when they can get away with circular logic. Not to mention there are parts of Muslim belief that come close to the Truth, but that aren't (lies are always easier to believe when they're just the truth being twisted).

I think the sending kids to war thing is a part of the wartime teachings of the Koran...from what I can tell, the Koran seems to have distinct teachings: those for times of war and those for times of peace. I think a lot f the differences between the "types" of Muslims out there seem to stem from this. As far as the "why" of the barbarism...well, I suppose it's a thing that happens in corrupted teachings. Satan is...well...wicked that way.

actually, there are hardly any kids who go into this willingly. the story is so complicated and so screwed up. here is a summary of whats going on that i found on here:

African history for well over a century has been largely written in terms of war, domination, brutality and plunder, by both external and internal forces. Many of these problems were put in place or exacerbated by colonialism in the late 1800s.

Uganda, made a protectorate of the British Empire in 1894, was no exception. Britain

according to the documentary, there arent any known cases of children who have joined the LRA willingly. but there is a very high risk of it happening soon because of this:

when child soldiers are rescued, they are thrown in the displacement camps were they live with people whose family they have terrorized. also in the camps, are children of Kony, the LRA leader, whom he had with girls he kidnapped. naturally, everyone in the camps is gonna hate those kids since they are either the ones who cut off their nose/mouth/ears/limbs/all of them or is the one who killed their husband, wife, child, sister .....

these kids are total outcasts because of what they have been forced to do or who they are borne from such that they wanna go back to the LRA....

its a sad sad situation.

i really dont know what to do with myself....this is all so confusing in my head.

the LRA, just yesterday, was talking about going to war if peace talks arent held were they want them to be held.

also in the news today .....

VIENNA, Austria - Austrian authorities said Wednesday they have uncovered a major international child pornography ring involving more than 2,360 suspects from 77 countries, including hundreds in the United States, who paid to view videos of young children being sexually abused.

The children were under the age of 14 and screams could be heard, said Harald Gremel, an Austrian police expert on Internet crime who headed the investigation.

if you want to read it, the rest of hte article is here

what is happening????? :)

Romans 1:21-25

21 They knew God. But they didn't honor him as God. They didn't thank him. Their thinking became worthless. Their foolish hearts became dark. 22 They claimed to be wise. But they made fools of themselves. 23 They would rather have statues of gods than the glorious God who lives forever. Their statues of gods are made to look like people, birds, animals and reptiles.

24 So God let them go. He allowed them to do what their sinful hearts wanted to. He let them commit sexual sins. They polluted one another's bodies by what they did.

25 They chose a lie instead of God's truth. They worshiped and served created things. They didn't worship the Creator. But he must be praised forever. Amen.

thats what i think is happening in the world. Also, i think the amount of people who simply pity these children yet sleep soundly at night is a world wide problem. Yes, it is an unspeakable horror that these children go trhough these things, but i think there is a bigger problem in that the rest of the world is so willing to say how sad it looks on TV and then go through thier day. we need to pray without ceasing for these children and do what we can to help. If everyone who said how sad it was actually did something small to help we could put a huge roadblock in child pornography and child soldiers. just a thought though

Just going totally off track, King David killed Goliath at the age of 12(?).....We know that this was ordained by God Himself.

Just a by thought, the mentallity of some boys at that age, and I refer to them as still children, I have 4 boys from ages 7 to 13 and all have expressed being a soldier at one point or another.

Not justifying child soldiers in anyway..but there is an element of boys who find the idea of warlike behaviour thrilling BUT that is purely from an imagined perspective...video games glamourize and are void of the absolute horror and mental torment of witnessing killing and outright murder.

yea....that is off track as these kids are forced into this. i doubt even one kid in Uganda would choose this life. they are kidnapped at night and some are forced to kill their parents first before they are taken away to start training.....

you are so right. there is LOTS we can do to help without even spending a dime. people just have to want to help, thats all. whats sad about it is that if you were to go to Uganda right now, these people would rejoice that their story is getting out into the world and everyone is gonna be outraged and immediately start helping.

they have no idea how complacent we have become and how lazy our love is.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
