We have still got our Daylight Savings in Perth but is due to finish around March 25. We are now in Autumn and the mornings are so dark.

I am looking forward to the change so when Donna and I are chatting I am not falling asleep on the keyboard :emot-hug: At the moment we chat 11.30pm my time and 7.30am Donnas time.

Even better when we can chat face to face ;)

Only 70 more sleeps ;)

One of the things I love about living in Arizona. We don't play the changing clock game. We never have to spring forward or fall back. Just leave them clocks and watches alone! While many of you are losing that hour sleep, I'll be just doing my normal ol thing.

Of course, it gets mighty confusing when you have to tell someone that was used to talking to you at a certain time, that they have to adjust. Like now my Cali friends and I will be back on same time, but my sister in Abq, NM will be bummed, as she moves forward and will be in bed before I get online at nights. Chances of me seeing the chatters in the eastern states grow more slim, as they'll now be 3hrs ahead of me.

Then there's my friend Shazza in Australia where Perth wasnt changing times, and now they are. SOOO we're really gonna get confused at our chat time. ;)

Hmph, now that I've confused even myself trying to word all this, i'll just bid you all adieu.

I wish they would do away with the whole time changing thing....just leave it alone...LOL....however, in the fall...I do love that extra hour of sleep

This year they've changed our Dalylight Savings Time schedule from the normal. Usually it happens the first Sunday in April, but they changed it in order to conserve energy (so we'll be going to bed and turning moff our gadgets and whatnot closer to when it actually gets dark). We don't switch back to Standard Time until Nov. 4th now, apparantly...so I'm kinda wondering why they still call it "Standard" Time, when really it's only in effect for about 1/4 of the year :)

Like Donna, I just change time zones. Its rather nice in a way, since I get to see some east coast people given my schedule, but it sometimes makes it hard to be 3 hours different.

We Arizonans do not want that extra hour of daylight at night. Its too hot. The earlier it cools off at night, the better for us, since the electric companies tell us to conserve power use by not running our appliances until after 8 pm when the air conditioner need isnt so energy consuming.

Day light savings time this weekend! March 11 at 2AM change your clocks forward one hour. This means you loose an hour of sleep this Sunday. So either go to the late service or do like normal and sleep during the sermon :emot-partyblower:

Hello Ray,

can't you guys just do this every leap year.......that is; sleep during the sermon

i've always wondered.... how is changing the time saving any daylight? you still have the exact same number of hours of light vs. dark....

it was actually set up as a joke..... go back and read about the way it came into play, not the official press release, but the discussions about it.......

the president at the time made a comment that the whole country looked up to the president so much that if the president said....... they would believe it.....

well, even in modern days, we have seen that with the last three presidents.... they say one thing, the country believes every word of it, until after the fact, and then they can not get the words straight....

as far as the computers and such, most servers have already got things running... if you are concerned about your computer being on the right time, go in and adjust the time zone you are in and your computer will take over from there..... such as if you are in central, and your computer does not change, then adjust it to eastern... if you are in eastern, then adjust to atlantic, if you are mountain adjust to central and if pacific then adjust to mountain.... simple nuff with out having to purchase new software, and then if it changes in april, then adjust back to the correct time zone.....

having the server make the adjustment at their end, might even trigger it so your computer does ok.... i dont know, but it will not effect the performance of it i do not believe....

that is not a good reason either, for when it is dark here in the morning, every light in the house is on, while people are running around trying to get ready for school, work and such.... in the evenings, we have one, maybe two lights on, and everyone is in the same room...... most of the time..... less lights, less running, less cooking (breakfast is fend for self, and there is cooking going on as well as at night, and also the coffee pot starts up, and the water heater cooking the water for morning showers and dishes and such.... almost pure chaos....

Sorry ray i am setting my clock back before i go to bed. I refuse to stay up till 2:00 to do so.

However i am a proponent for Alasks to not change their clocks as we have 24 hour daylight in the summer and 20 hours of darkness in the winter. This loose an hour of sleep so that people elsewhere can have an extra hour of daylight is ridiculous. If they need an extra hour of daylight they need to get up earlier, not make most of the nation get up earlier with them. :whistling:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
