Angels, you asked when a child is accountable. The answer is at conception, as soon as there is life. Scripture makes no distinction - every single human is born carrying the sin that requires death as punishment. Whether or not the person has committed sin is irrelevent - they have the human nature of sin and that is enough to nail Jesus to the cross and enough to need repentance and a Savior.

There is no such doctrine of "age of accountability" in the Scriptures, that is a man made doctrine and myth. It was created so people could feel good, and it's politically correct - what parents who have lost a child want to hear the truth? They want to hear what makes them feel good - that of course their child is in Heaven. After all, what kind of monster God would send a child to such a hideous place as hell!?!?!? Truth is, God is accountable to no one and does not 'send' anyone to hell anyway. However, if His divine plan includes infant souls in hell, than He need not answer to us for it. It could be that His plan has all infants and children who die being of His chosen, and therefore, in Glory with Him. Or not. The scripture does not say, so we should also be silent. Many use David's "I will see my baby again" as doctrine, but one thought of Davids is far from valid doctrine.

I myself lost a baby and do not know if the child was of God's elect or not. I leave it up to God and trust my total faith in Him. God can not do wrong. That's all that I need to know.

Actually, I don't think there is a age either, its a matter of the heart and only God knows that.

God knows when a person willfully reject His Son and want to do their own thing.

He will keep a person accountible in His time frame He knows the intent of a persons heart.

Just my opininon. :t2:

Angels

Angels you have answered your own question :) GBU girl. God knows when people become accountable He knows the hearts and minds of all

All Praise The Ancient Of Days.

As for bablies burning in hell

Deuteronomy 1:39

"Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.

This is when the tribes of Israel where in the desert and refused to go into the Promised Land because of fear of it's inhabitants. God decided to punish the people by forcing them to wonder in the desert for 40 years so that all of the generation that had refused to enter the Promised Land would die and never enter it. But as he says above about the little ones

"WHO TODAY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL"

This is the crucial statement from God about the little ones (BABIES) they are innocent. Think of adam and eve before they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. where they not perfect. and here we hear God Himself says about the little ones "WHO TODAY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL".

The Messiah Jesus made an interesting statement concerning little ones too.

Matthew 18:10

"Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

Paul wrote

Romans 7

9I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. 10And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. 11For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.

Paul is clearly saying that he once was alive without the law this was when he was a little one. Once Paul came to the understanding of Good and Evil his carnal nature came to the fore.

2 Samuel 12

21Then his servants said to him, "What is this that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive, but when the child died, you arose and ate food." 22And he said, "While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, "Who can tell whether the LORD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?' 23But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me."

Although hombild is right that all men have sin. There is a difference from original sin that we have inherited from Adam and Eve and actual sin. Actual sin is sin that men have commited. The question is, at what age are humans capable of sin. I believe it will be different for everyone. I have seen that many here believe that 12 is about that age. I disagree. Children know what is right and wrong long before age 12. Knowledge of right and wrong and the direct action to disobey something that you know is wrong is all that is needed for sin. Some children at the age of 6 or 7 know what right and wrong is. Just ask any parent with kids. I know that I sure did. We have children at the age of 9 and 10 in the world that are sexually active. Don't tell me that children can have the knowledge of sex and not have the knowledge of right and wrong. Now I am not saying that I think that there are millions of 6 and 7 year old children that are going to hell, because I don't. I believe that there are differences in gravity of sin. Venial sin and mortal sin. One commits venial sin when in a less serious matter, he does not observe the standard prescribed by the moral law, or when he disobeys the moral law in a grave matter, but without full knowlege or without complete consent. For sin to be mortal, three conditons must be met: Mortal sin is sin whose object is of grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and full consent.

Mortal sin destroys charity in the heart of man by a grave violation of God's law; it turns man away from God.

Venial sin allows charity to subsist, even though it offends and wounds it.

Most childrens sins are venial which means that they do not damn children to hell, they just wound the relationship there soul has with Christ.

Sins have different degrees and different consequences, for references on differences of sin use the bible. If sin against the Holy Spirit is the worst sin, as it says in the bible, then there must be a least sin and all the ones in between. Reason tells us this.

Okay here is another thought for us. If a child lets say hypothetically is responsible at age 12, what about the children raised by Atheist parents, or by parents who belive in a god but just don't practice any of the biblical morals etc? How can they be accountable if they aren't allowed to be around the Word? Jaime

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
