The only TV evangelists I trust are John Hagee, Perry Stone and Billy Graham.

I would so love to see Perry Stone in person!

As for Billy and John...all I know is that whenever I watch them preach, my soul is stirred and I just want to jump up and shout "AMEN!" to the heavens!

****Note: I do not want this to turn into an attack on specific ministries but a simple discussion on the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of TV evangelism

Whats you thoughts???

I have not read past the first post before I felt like replying, so please bear with me ...

I have feeling on both sides of the street on this one. When I was in the world, it was those on TV during the late hours, as I was high and looking for a way out, that were there with the Word of God that convicted me. But, I do see the millions of dollars that's wasted on huge buildings and the like and wonder how many people would this feed, or how many homeless could have a warm bed, or how many bills for the poor could be paid. Is there really an answer?

Homeless that could have a warm bed? How about 3000 homes in Africa? Built through contributions and the Will of God and the willingness to obey by Joyce Meyers. And that's only one country, as well as here and 5 other countries that I participate in. You know, after you check out the Evangelist of your preferance and you are satisfied in your mind/heart that it is real, just give, give, give because God will reward you for your giving, and not for your distrusting. Just give and don't look back! God knows your heart and your intentions and those who abuse your monies will pay in the end..

I disagree with Television Evangelism due to the fact of the enormous cost to air those kinds of shows. I think that money could have be more effectively spent supporting thousands of missionaries around the world taking the gospel to unreached areas. Second most of those shows are not about evangelism but rather about Christian living, Church doctrine and such. Most if not all are not centered on reaching lost...so if you want to learn about Christian living get your bible out and join a fellowship. Christian TV does not equal fellowship. Why waste millions of dollars, just so you hear your favorite scripture and minister.

TV ministers will be held accountable by God of how they use and spend the money sent in good faith of the gospel. Including non TV ministers who build expensive glorified Church's in the name of God, while millions missionaries remain unsent and unsupported around the world. Most of the church money should be spent on evangelism and spreading of the gospel not rectifying buildings and building fitness rooms. God would much rather have people worshiping out of barns and homes rather then million dollar buildings.

Do you really think God is going to pat them on the back and say nice structured build, I like the gold trimming and tassels, I watched your TV show, I like your tailored suit, while millions of unsent missionaries can't go to the fields nor truly be supported because you have to pay the electric bill or air time. He is going to say depart from me you wicked evil servant, because you were given much but in return you went wasted it on worldly things and not on harvesting souls.

I have no problem for ministers asking and raising money as long as the money is going to reach the lost. I don't see this in TV ministers. Paul requested money often from Churches but I know he used it to support evangelism and building the kingdom of God not his Church building.

The churches should be a training base making disciples to send to the unreached around the corner and around the world and supporting them. This is how you reach the world.

.

Great after-thought, great intentions. Only problem is some of the evangelists that roam the world, not just on TV know that until man get's his heart and mind on God, most of them will not even begin to consider to donate and contribute to the needy around the world. So many are directed from God to work on man's heart and head first before convincing them to "help others."

Do you think that the many organizations that collect contributions without vast "televangelism" do not need funds to support their cause and efforts as well? They have to employ full time workers as well. Not many are prepared and equipped to traverse the town in sandals as Jesus did, and give up what they have ....a roof over their head, and money to survive; sad but true.

Not all T.V. evangelists are rated equal! Yes some are down right crooks but oh their are many that help and have their heart right. Same as churches! Some are down right crooks to. 50/50  Except most all churches are lukk warm!

That's because MOST all people are as well, my friend?

And it is good to see that "Some" televangelists are on the wrong track, or not following God's word properly" but your comment"I disagree with Television Evangelism due to the fact of the enormous cost to air those kinds of shows. does not state what you have just conveyed to me, in that now you realize that some might be worthy of God's grace and may some may feel that they are being directed by HIM. At least that's not the impression I got originally. But now I can agree in part with you. Remeber, God uses even the lowly and the sinners to get HIS message to you. It's what YOU do with the message from that point!

No matter what the sets look like, they're going to be criticized. If you had a large ministry, you would be criticized, too. There's no way missionaries can reach the numbers of people that tv does.

The guy that's on TBN that reads from The Word that was an actor - can't remember his name. Anyway, his testimony is that he tuned to TBN to make fun of the show - only that time he was saved - happened years ago.

How much is one soul worth?

I don't think anybody is saying that people can't be saved by any message of the gospel, God's word never returns void, no matter how the message is sent out. The question is how those with the million dollar ministries are are actually living what they preach to others...........

God does not need TV to reach the world:

Act 17:6 And when they found them not, they dragged Jason and certain brethren before the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

In China as we speak millions are coming to Jesus in the underground church, yet they are not allowed to publicly speak about their fatih. Its the same for many parts of Asia but TV is not the media for reaching them. Yet, the word of God is spreading like wild fire.

The key is Network Evangalism.

Maybe not but it is a good tool and guess who owns it yep God he owns everything so I figure if he does he will use it! :emot-pray:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
