The first is what it really means to be a Christian. To be a Christian one must believe in the Trinity, those who do not are not Christian in any sense of how that word has been understood for the past 2000 years. That is not what the Christians believed when they were first called Christians at Antioch, or so I have been led to believe. Most documents suggest that the doctrine of the Trinity was introduced very much later to counter heretical concepts developing at the time. The bible stories suggest that the early Christians believed in a very basic, "What must I do to be saved?" without knowing any of the complications that arose later. It didn't seem that way to me. The other post that had already been made indicated that such a person was not born again. The one that you responded with, indicated to me that such a person (ie me, since you know my stand on this) was a liar. I don't have anything more to say to you on the matter. No I said you call Jesus and the Father liars because you reject their own testimonies of Jesus' Deity. I did not say you are a liar. I said you are not a believer. You are not a Christian. I'll let you read it Mutz, I don't like typing much. It's all about confessing or denying the deity of Jesus. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.Matthew 10:32-33 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.Isaiah 9:6 Is the definite article actually in the Hebrew??? THE mighty God, THE everlasting Father, THE Prince of Peace. Names or titles containing the word el, do not necessarily identify that individual as Almighty Father Yahweh. And...remember, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal...learn Ephesians 6:10-18 well and put it into daily practice as you lean on and depend on the Holy Ghost to give you the power to live as a witness to the Truth. I welcome opportunities to defend my faith...atheists beware because I will not hear Him blasphemed and I will tell anyone who will listen how to find the Truth. It's like I can't help myself. All of these: Jesus Deity Is Seen In The Old Testament Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. [based on the conservative protestant movement started in 1910, to oppose modernism.] Modernism was an attempt by liberals, to reconcile the teachings of Christianity with the findings of science, especially evolution. A fundamentalist believes: The inerrancy, infallibility and literal truth of the bible. The virgin birth and complete deity of Jesus Christ. The physical ressurection of Christ and all dead. The atoning sacrifice for the sins of the World, by Jesus' death on the cross. The second coming of Christ in bodilly form. The way I look at it, the real believers are the fundamentalists. If these are the fundamentals of the Christian faith, then this is what Christians are supposed to believe. Woo-Hoo! I'm a fundie!
