There are so many times I don't know what to say to God except, good morning, thank you, help yourself to coffee, and nite lord, I just don't have anything to say. Are there diffrent ways to pray like worship music or reading bible. Sometimes I blow kissys at God, I can pray as I type, but to actually pray I just don't know what to say. What are ways to communicate with God when you get tounge tie like me lol.

Talk to God as you read thru the Scriptures, incorporate Him in your thoughts. Awareness of His continual presence leads to a deeper prayer life. At first practicing this is akward, but we are suppose to be peculiar. Nothing wrong with just giving thanks and rehearsing your day with Him, letting Him know you aware of His presence and His hand in all areas of your life. A set time of day to be quiet after reading the Word. Shut off the computer, TV, radio, anything competive for your thoughts and attention. Learn to talk to Him while you drive with the radio off when you are riding by yourself. Find a prayer partner you are comfortable with and set a time with some frequency to get together and pray for each other. Pray to yourself during corporate prayers as you feel inspired to do so. Make it a focus by asking God to bring you to prayer.

It sounds as if you have a good relationship with our Lord. There are different ways of talking to Him. I like to sing hymns and worship songs - no always out loud, but they are in my heart. As I go through the day, someone will pop into my mind and I will say a quick prayer for God to be with this person. If I hear a siren - especially if it is an ambulance - I ask God to be with the person who needs help, and to be with the EMT's and police officers. When my daughter is driving I ask God to be with her and when she gets home I thank Him. It's really just chatting with Him. But then there is the time to dedicate to prayer - thanking Him, asking for guidance, etc.

I think talking to Him continually is wonderful.

Closet prayer is an intimate and exciting prayer time with the Lord. I use the scripture 'be still and know that I am God', when I go into my closet. With my bible in front of me I quieten my mind, relax my body, shut my eyes and keep my mind set on him. By doing this I am using the scripture that says 'set your mind on those things above and not below'. Sometimes a scripture will come to me and I'll look it up, or I'll just open up my bible and go through it until I find something that jumps off the page at me. Other times a song may go through my mind and I'll sing it to the Lord.

Things usually begin to run through my mind when I am doing this. Whatever it is, that is what I pray and talk to God about.

I always leave my closet feeling uplifted, blessed and happy in spirit.

Whenever I am not sure what to pray for/about, I move aside and allow the Holy Spirit to pray for me.

Try starting a prayer journal and write to God, we know you use your computer, use it and watch your prayers develop and track God's hand in the way He moves you

The above posts are good - some about your prayer closet where you can focus on Him and His attributes while worshiping Him and there is "pray without ceasing" which can include praying for salvation of others and labourers into his harvest (Mat 9:38); people, their families and friends from listening to the news; if you have children, spouse, praying with them; Christian forums have prayer requests section including the medical personnel, family and friends; many Psalms are prayers; pray for the peace of Jerusalem; our leaders - international, national, state, county, and local including upcoming elections; military and law enforcement personnel; security including international and national; body of Christ including individual churches and their leadership (from I Cor 1); those who are persecuted for His name's sake; unity of families; children including the educational system; those who are addicted, homeless, and lonely; ask Him to bless our enemies and for forgiveness; and thanksgiving, praise, and worship.

I heard one man explain how he spends an hour a day in prayer:

Open the Scriptures and read them out loud as a prayer. For instance, read out loud Revelation 1, but make it personal as you read it, thanking the Lord for His revelation.

Example:

Rev. 1

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Thank-You, Lord, for your revelation and sending Your word to me.

John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, Holy are You, Lord! and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Thank-You, Lord!"

etc.

Yes I believe so. I don't think that you actually have to 'speak' to be praying.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
