Yod said, Really though....what difference does it make?

It does not make any difference to me. In my original post I made it clear it was just a question. I was just curious and was not trying to stir up a debate. And I did post it in the general discussion forum. I think general discussion is just that.......

1 Cor 11:14-16

14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

(KJV)

So if Paul and The Church have no customs pretaining to hair length why should we?

I have a picture of Christ that shows He had hair just a bit longer than shoulder length.

Here is something interesting, I wonder how long Jesus's hair was when He appeared to John in Revelation chapter 1? verse 14 says, "His head and his hairs were white like wool,as white as snow...." He might have had a white afro at that time, but of course,I don't know if it was long or not.

I professor I had in college said that most likely Jesus had short hair because long hair was typical for wealthy men, and Jesus was a carpenter, not a wealthy man. Wealthy men probably had more means to keep long hair cleaner.

Uho, no WOF teachings need to start!!! :x:

Excuse my ignorance here...what in the world is WOF?

how long is long..... good point.....

what is long to me, might be short to you, or vice verse..... compared to my wifes hair length, mine is short...... compared to our pastors, my hair is long.... compared to one of my sons, mine is short, and to the other sons it is long... compared to my daughters hair when i first met her, my hair was long, and now it is short and i have not cut my hair since i met her....

it is a relitive question..... I would have to agree that a man is to look like a man, and a woman is to look like a woman..... if a woman has so short a hair style, that she looks like a man, she may need to concider growing it out enough that she can at least have the appearance of being a woman.... if a mans hair is such that he is looking like a woman, then it is time to cut it and gain the appearance of a man...

there is no mistake that I am a male, yes, i have longer hair then what some would concider "proper" for a male to have, but there is no mistake that i am male, there is a lady i know, that when I first seen her, I thought she was a man, she dont wear a dress, she wears pants, she has almost a burr type hair cut, unfortunatly, there are others that may see her as not being female gender.....

men need to look like men, women need to look like women..... no if's, and's or but's about it.......

:t2: sorry not trying to hi-jack the thread...but...this reminds of a joke....

A teenager went up to his dad and asked if he could use the car that night...the father said no you can't I'm busy tonight...the son said you always say that when am I gonna be able to use the car....the father thought for a second and said I tell you what I'll let you use the car if 1. you start working hard on your grades. 2. you go to church with me and your mom every sunday. 3. and get that hair of yours cut! Well really wanting the use the car the son agreed..........6 weeks later the son came up to his dad and said well I aced my last few tests and I have been going to church with you every sunday...now can I use the car...the father said you haven't got you hair cut son. Well the son thinking he had his dad on this one said...but dad Jesus had long hair. To which the father replied while pocketing the keys to the car...Yeah you may right...but Jesus walked everywhere he went to.

Ok back to the subject...I just thought this was a good one.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
