I believe that hell is separate from the lake of fire and in the end everything against God will end up in the lake of fire...including hell itself.

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I looked right at that too. :)

There is a difference.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I wasn't aiming my post at you, I was just sharing my beliefs based on what I've gathered out of scripture.

One thing that caught my attention in the past year on this subject, is found in verse 13.

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

It seems in scripture that there are different 'holding places' which the souls of those lost are held until the final judgment. Different levels of punishment while awaiting final judgment based on the life lived?

The lake of fire is the second death (eternal separation from God) which of course is the final judgment for all who are against God.

These things for the lost cause much sorrow in my heart, but even in judgments, I praise Him that His judgment is righteous and just.

We know that heaven in beyond our imagination, but hell what does that look like for those that might be going there. Every one knows how heaven sounds like , but not hell. people think it's not so bad.

to have an idea of what hell is like, go see if you can go to a house fire or a building fire that is fully engulfed in flames... then go inside.....

it is not like the movies or TV, where there is plenty of light, in the middle of a fire, it is TOTALLY BLACK... NO LIGHT, SO MUCH NOISE IT IS HARD TO EVEN THINK......

the light can not penitrate the fire to reach the middle of it... out side the fire, there is lots of light, and you can see very good, and you can get away from the heat.... but in the fire, even within an area there is no flames, but surrounded by flames, the heat is such you have a hard time breathing, even with the scott air pack.....

the way we trained for fire fighting in Lexington Park Maryland, was we would be fully dressed out, and our face mask would have black construction paper covering the clear shield..... and we would then be placed in a building with obstructions and a hose in our hand, we had only a certain amount of time to find our way out..... even in that environment, we had a very difficult time communicating, and we would be in a line of three people ( a team of three ) attempting to get out before we ran out of air.... the best communication was touch, the leader would be following the hose with both hands, the next person would be following the leader with one hand on the leaders back and one on the hose and the third would be following the second person with one hand on him and one on the hose...... trying to talk to each other, even when there was no real fire, and even thou there was no noise from the fire, was almost impossible, very difficult at best..... also even thou there was no fire, we were soaked, completely soaked from this exercise and it was no where near the temps that would be achieved in an actual fire.....

in an actual fire, the air is putrid, some times you can even smell it with your mask on, there have been times i switched the air valve from demand to continuous in order to keep the mask with positive pressure at all times so that none of the junk, the toxic fumes would be able to penetrate the mask to my face....

then when the air tanks hit their "reserve" a bell goes off and you have an even harder time to hear what is being said (or i should say yelled)......

hell? well, i have given you an idea, of what the outer fringes of hell might be like, not even close to the full blown thing....

people think they will be able to see their buddies, they are dead wrong.... you can not see in the middle of a fire.... and if it is an entire lake of fire, forget it...

hell is not a place i would even want to entertain the idea of even wanting to see it from afar...... i want to completely avoid it with any thing and everything i can muster up......

What will it feel like? Don't know, but see how long you can hold just your finger over a flame from a candle before the pain becomes unbearable. With the lake of fire...its for eternity. :noidea:

Ok...That very thought is scary...Think about it...That TERRIBLE pain....FOREVER...never ending...woah. Don't want that. Glad I'm saved!!! :] Thank you Jesus! :]

Yeah somehow I think it's gonna be quite different from the way it's portrayed in cartoons where there is a little fire here and a little fire there and then everyone just walking around normal oh and I'm pretty sure the devil doesn't carry around a fork but you never know. :noidea:

Seriously though the bible doesn't really go into detail as to what Hell looks like only that it's a place of sorrow beyond our understanding and since nobody that I know of has ever been there and come back to tell the story I'm guessing it's one of those deals where you have to put faith in the Lord's word that it's not a place you want to be.

Standing before Jesus Christ beforehand, and seeing Him in His glory seated on the throne...knowing it was by ones on choice. That is what will be painful, even to the very core of the soul. :whistling:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
