Why?

Because of all the crap they've sent us: toys, pet food, probably medicines, for starters.

Actually most companies are doing some portion of their mfg in China. It is a fact of life.

The sad part is, it is made in China, a facorty put there by as I call them a greedy American that can get cheap labor and put our people here out of work.

All we can do is continue to pray. If you will notice, those places that had lead and etc in them were from American owned factories, so it really will come back and bite them.

Grace to you,

You know honestly, It is the regulatory practices of our Nation that have forced the corporations into Multi Nationalism. They can stay in business by operating overseas. They can't stay in business here meeting all the pay scales and heavy regulatory demands placed on them. :emot-hug:

I shop Wal/Mart all the time and don't have any qualms at all about it.

There is actually an article I read recently about how their business practices are actually helping the economy by holding down production costs and then passing it along to their customer base. In their aggresive business model they demand the lowest prices and they also have a premium on shelf space. Thus they were able to demand of the cereal manufacturers a full box of cereal or a box that was smaller and full so as to save on shelf space. This cuts down on the raw materials that go into the box thus saving renewable resources and also cutting down on the production costs that are passed onto the middle man, Wal/Mart. In essence their business practices and market position have forced the manufacturers into better business pratices which are better for the whole system. The manufacturers can't survive without the middle men and Wal/Mart is the largest one there is in the world.

Believe me, Wal?Mart does not want or desire to sell defective products from China. It would wreck their business. So their opening up for Trade with manufacturers with China will only force the Chinese into safer practices.

There is an excellent Frontline due out in days about China and Jesus in China. They will speak to some of these situations and about how Religion and especially Christianity is forcing China to modernize it's politcal and social policies. That the Leaders there like the Morality that Christianity brings and hope that it forces former regional bosses into more credible business practices. This will force their Business practices to be more sound as well. They do not like all the bad press either. They are counting on America to float their boat. What I think is the most dangerous for America is that Christianity is growing there even flourishing. In a few generations they may be Blessed and we may end up like Europe. A vast land of marvelous white arched houses/sepulchures to Christianity. All devoid of parishoners on the Lords day. :24: It seems it doesn't matter where Righteousness is lifted up, it exalteth a Nation and changes even her Leaders. :24:

Peace,

Dave

Not sure about other parts of the country but here checking out at Walmart has become just to much of a hassle for me. They never have more than 2 or 3 lanes open on the grocery side so everyone comes running down to the other side to use the self checkout lanes which aren't meant to be used to scan 500 grocery items in a timely manner so it backs up everyone else trying to just grab 1 or 2 items and get out of dodge if you will.

And at least for me shopping for groceries at Kroger comes out to be a little cheaper when I use my Kroger Card. And pretty much anything else I need can be gotten at Target without the hassle mentioned above. The problem with Walmart is they have gotten to big for their own britches. lol

It's interesting...

About 80% of medicine is treatment of symptoms. If your elbow hurts take some ibuprofen, if your feet hurt soak them in warm water, if you throw your back out playing a sport ice it down, take ibuprofen, and rest until it feels better. The problem is, most of the time your body hurts because something is actually wrong with it: Your elbow's out of alignment, you need orthotics to correct the pathological gait that's causing pain in your knees, hips and low back; and you need to see a chiropractor to correct your bad back so the next time you play that sport you will be able to do so without rick of serious injury. Medicine in America is largely reactive and not proactive.

What's the comparison?

Businesses are moving their manufacturing to China because the labor is cheap. Labor unions and various governmental regulations in America have made it next to impossible for manufacturing to make a profit without increasing costs to consumers at astronomic levels. Rather than fixing the source of the problem, which is the labor unions (read: cartels), state and Federal regulations, we blame the manufacturers. Well, it's not all the fault of the manufacturers. They want to make money on their product - like everyone else that produces goods in this country. The system, by design, makes it increasingly harder for big businesses - manufacturing and assembly

Now, of course the irony of this problem is that the Democrats - who are mainly in favor of the unions (Actually pretty much all politicians are in the "back pocket" of the labor unions) and increased regulations on manufacturing - are the first to criticize manufacturers who move their production overseas.

I became paranoid about the pet food last year....I ended up feeding my elderly cat Gerber baby meats for the rest of her life (she died at 18 years and nine months old). I'm glad to hear you didn't lose your kitty. :emot-questioned:

This is true....I don't believe that all those toxic products were an 'accident'; especially coming from China. :th_praying:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
