The Ouiji board is marketed and sold as a toy and for many people that is how they see it. But...

As a former follower of the occult, I can tell you that the Ouiji board is not a toy, it is a fortune telling device. The fact that scripture says to refrain from prognostication and summoning spirits should be enough to make this off limits, but some people dont understand...so....

See with the astrological forecast in the paper, there is no direct contact with anything, someone else does it. Lots and runes are basically chances, you read whatever you wish in them. Even seeking the advise of someone like Sylvia Brown would be better than using a Ouija board; because any contact with spirits is second hand, someone else does it, someone else uses them, you only receive their tainted information. Yes, you sin, but you are not likely in any direct danger above and beyond the penalties of disobedience and a pattern you might be setting for yourself. Even a seance is safer than the Ouija board.

And any practitioner of the occult who knows what they speak of will tell you so.

In a seance you directly participate, however, the demon you speak with wants you to believe that he is your aunt Bertha or grandpa Silas or your long lost best friend. Therefore, he will act accordingly. You would be able to predict his behaviour to a point, he's only gonna be cantankerous if your relatives or whoever you are trying to communicate with was cantankerous.

With the Ouija board, you ask a question of the spirits. Any spirit out there willing to come is summoned to answer your question. You have invited a demon without binding or controlling it and with no way (other than exorcism) to send that spirit back if he is unwilling to leave. The demon has no need or desire to appear to be anything to you, he's just there because you asked him to be. You tell me whether you think that is safe?

I used to mess around with occult and severly regreted it. You will feel for the first time your soul suffer and be attacked. DON'T DO IT... no matter how bad the temptation to know the future or what a girl thinks of you whatever. It is not worth it!

Here is something not a lot of Christians quote from the Bible. GOD says himself to ask Him about the future! I am just searching for the verse for you but I've come across it several times. I believe its in Isaiah if I'm not mistaken. I'll write it here once I find it.. He said something like this ' can the dead know about the future? Why not ask God about what will happen?'

First off, who makes the thing? I have never seen a maker on the box.

Second: Does one have to belive a ouiji board has power to be affected by it?

I personally stay away from those things the seem very evil to me.

stay away from ouiji boards the reason i am saying this i mucked around with ouiji boards when i was a young person this is what attracted me to the occult my best friend who use to be a satanic priest is no longer a satanic priest he is a born again christian we both went threw teen challange and keep in regular contac with each other

you are dealing with evil spirits and once you do this you have given them free control in your home while you are a christian god draw a blood line around your soul around your mind and around your emotions and he puts a hedge around your home and around your family

you dont want to be channeling spirits as the spirits you tend to channel have their own mind and are very powerful

ouiji boards are dangerous it is an instrument to put you in contac with the spirit world which the bible forbids

the normal word is weeje boards

you dont want to be tangling with a spirit that has not crossed over their are spirits walking this earth that have not crossed over and to the untrained and unsuspecting person who ventures for the first time to were they begin to muck around with an weeje board or ouiji board a spirit who has not crossed over can cause harm to those wanting to communicate with the dead

spirits who have not crossed over are often troubled the spirits that have not crossed over are responsible for the horror storys you would have heard in relation to huauntings also what ever harm a person can do while a live they can do the very same harm when they are dead

also the ouiji board is used by satan to get people to look some were else besides to jesus christ for the answers

whether suppernatural forces are at work or not the person ussing the ouiji board thinks the supernatural forces are at work or not if the person ussing the ouiji or weejee board thinksthe supernatural is at work he will then employ it rather than looking to god for the ultimate answers

i did not know this when i mucked around with weejee boards for the first time i was in a youth refuge with sevral of the residents we went up in the man hole to get away from the youth worker as we had shift workers looking after us

we had a bottle and the bottle we used spun violently to the point were it lifted of the ouiji board and passed me and one of the female residents she grabbed my hands real tight as the bottle smashed and the glass hit me on the back of my head it freaked us out as we were calling out for a certain young person who comitted suicide one of the male residents new him i thought at one stage some one was playing a prank yet we all felt this coldness in the man hole in the roof i can honestly say we high tailed it i did not even balance on the chair we had set up i just got out of the man hole very fast and went to the back yard we said nothing to the youth worker who was doing the night shift

You don't want any demonic thing in your home - idols, pictures, witchcraft items (ours or other cultures) death masks, freemasonry paraphanlia, you name it.

If it's directly used for evil - even if you're not going to use it for that purpose, you don't want any spirits that might have attached themselves to the object in your home.

edit - IMO. I've had quite a bit of personal experience with negative spiritual atmospheres from objects. I try to be really careful as a result, regarding what I own or bring into my house.

it is a tool for satan, (no one wanting to claim it should say something about it)

it, in itsself does not have power, only the power that we allow it to have through satan...

good choice, STAY AWAY FROM IT.....
