  1. Shalom everyone, Last night Steve_S and I were talking, and I'm not really a stats guy. However, we had a major change in moderation and major changes in software so it's good to keep an eye of what's happening across the boards. Since we just finished the month of June, we just broke through a new milestone we've not had since 2008. This month we had the most posts since April of 2008 -- the era before Facebook took over the internet! So it's safe to say, that by focusing on TOPICS we're discussing the ISSUES more! So let's keep it up! Let's focus on building each other up -- growing in faith -- learning from one another -- in love, joy and peace! The greatest harvest the world has ever seen will take place -- probably in our generation -- so remember everyone that participates at Worthy is joining in bringing souls into the Kingdom! May the Lord richly bless you, Your brother in the Lord with much agape love, George

  6. The Gift Of Godly Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Philippians 2:3 Hospitality And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 2:46-47 Jesus~! Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

  7. Very true, and thanks for sharing your personal testimony. In the New Testament churches the welfare of the believers was a great concern and an assumed responsibility. Not so much today. A lot of pastors think that Christians should go to governments for help, rather than the church.

  15. Thank you George, and Steve_S May we all continue to be one, as Jesus and the Father are one, in unity for ever! John 17:11, And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

  17. Hi Ezra, Messiah brought in everlasting righteousness, that is, that righteousness is now accessible to Christ's saints through His sacrifice when He was "cut off". But that doesn't answer this : Q: WHY did Israel suffer the two punishments that were part of the 70 week prophecy if the 70 weeks FULFILMENT were postponed for a later date to be ACCOMPLISHED? It is a valid question and very relevant to the so called "postponement" of the 70 weeks Ezra.

  18. But that isn't what Pre Trib says, is it? Pre Trib suggests God will take those believers out of the world to escape the fiery trial. Pre Trib says nothing about being pleasing to God. The whole premise is escape not obedience. If it were about being pleasing in God's sight then I very much doubt escape would be the ideology. There's much more to pleasing God than your suggestions. There is our way of life and testimony that is to set us apart from the world and truly prove our walk with God. If a person or group must please God to be translated, not seeing death then, the Christian church is clearly going into the fiery trial of great tribulation. Just look at the mess that is the church. Filled with false prophets, lies, divorce, idolatry, adultery, fornication, and lust for money, etc., the church is here for the duration, like it or not. The flood was a judgement, as in the earth was judged evil and fit to be destroyed by the wrath of God. Only 8 souls were kept alive from this great wrath but they certainly went through trials beforehand. There is no mention of Enoch, as is appropriate, because Enoch was not saved from the flood. Enoch was gone for 70 years before Noah was born. Noah began the ark when he was over 500 yrs. old. How was Enoch saved from the flood when he had been gone for over 500 years? Your argument makes little sense and has no bearing on the gathering of the elect. There are exactly two verses that mention the gathering of the elect, one in Matt and one in Mark, not many. There is not one verse or passage that mentions 'rapture'. Pre Trib can have the rapture; I'm looking toward the gathering of the elect. Pre Trib also makes the egregious error of equating wrath (orge) with great tribulation (thlipsis). The original words carry distinct origins, definitions, spelling and pronunciation from one another and cannot be construed as equivalent. Unless of course if one applies fear or emotion, then I guess any idea could come of it. I see you cherry picked my quote. That's a misquote. Is that how Christians should behave? What I said was, “Pre Trib suggests an early exit before a difficult time; Enoch was taken because he pleased God (as was Elijah, no doubt). If the church was to be taken in the same manner one would think the same reason for translation would apply. But it doesn't. If the scriptures record a translation before death of Enoch and Elijah, why does the scripture omit the future translation before death of millions of people from all over the world?" And the point is the bible mentions the translation before death of both Enoch and Elijah, specifically. As in 'words to remove all doubt'. But not so for Pre Trib. No 'pretrib rapture' is mentioned by name, by imagery, by specific and clear wording, nor by a descriptive event. I think something like this should merit at least a passing mention. After all, millions are going to be gone instantly with no explanation. Millions of the rigidly faithful, purely righteous, and God pleasing people are going to be translated and God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit omit this? When one man was translated God said so. Then another was translated and God told us that as well. Are you telling me God is going to fail to laud a vast group of the spiritually holy taken to heaven alive?

  20. Yes Paul is referring to men who are not willing to work. I for one enjoy physical work and have worked hard most of my life. I love that feeling at the end of the day when I am exhausted and my muscles are tired. I thank God that I have a job. I was unemployed for two years, five years ago, after the business I worked for went bankrupt. My age and limited skills really went against me in trying to get another job. It really was a hard time for me and I experienced the stigma of what unemployment has as well as an uncertain future. This verse really cut me to the bone. I even stopped going to church because I felt like I could not be a worthy Christian without a job. I contemplated suicide, I struggled with my salvation and how could God love me. It was really a horrible time in my life. Thankfully I got a job again and have to get up and go to work in two hours. That time my life was a dark time. Rather then help people were judgemental and accusing. God did not seem to hear my prayer. My salvation was not certain. I had no control over my life and the future was bleak. It is something I will not understand until further along as the song says. All I can say is that being unemployed puts man in a very vulnerable and helpless position. If you cannot help that man get a job then at least don't kick him when he is down. Paul was talking about men who did not work because they thought it was pointless since Christ would return soon and so this does not apply to men who cannot work due to no fault of their own. It is very important that we discern between a lazy man and a man who has hit hard times and the last thing he needs is to be kicked while he is down.

  21. That is not the intent of this thread at all. It simply reinforces the necessity of work for all able-bodied people (Christian or not). Many do not understand that God gave man a decree to work because not only does it provide for one's own needs, but it also provides for helping others. At the same time it is therapeutic in that it maintains one's health, and also creative, in that it gives every worker an opportunity to do things a little bit better. It is instructive to see that even while Paul was preaching the Gospel and teaching the Word, he worked day and night to support himself and not be beholden to anyone. Paul says "Do as I do".

  22. St. Paul talks about putting on the Mind of Christ. So yes, the closer we come to the Lord, the more he lives in us, the more sane we become because we are living a life truly according to God's way. When we do this, the world will often think us insane and mental. It is a paradox. Only God as revealed in Christ Jesus can be the true center, for out of that comes all love and creativity. When we believe that we are the center, then truly we are living a lie and that will lead to deeper insanity and death. Peace Mark

  23. Strips are the marks left by a whip. Looking at the context, the steward or manager who is set over the master's house to feed the servants: One is faithful and takes care of them and feeds them. One is abusive toward the servants and indulges himself, but his master arrived unexpectedly and he was caught--he is cut up and put with the unfaithful. One knew what he was supposed to do but made no effort to do it, and he received a severe beating. The one who didn't know what he was supposed to do got a light beating. Perhaps Jesus is speaking of wayward and faithful pastors. The one that abuses the church and uses the proceeds to get rich and indulge himself will be condemned to hell with those who apostatize. The others will receive a scourging that is in proportion to their disobedience. We are told that God chastens or scourges those He loves in Hebrews 12. And those in leadership receive a harsher punishment than the rest of us for disobedience. But the faithful pastors will be blest. I think of those who preach a prosperity gospel but tell the poor to send money to them so the poor people will get rich. The pastor is often the only one who gets rich. Sometimes they have dozens and limousines and jets and live a very self indigent life at the expense of the poor.

  24. No one on this forum has EVER stated (to my knowledge) that being saved gives on a "license to sin." In fact we OSAS adherents say exactly the opposite, that being saved gives us the freedom to come to the Lord with a contrite spirit, asking and receiving forgiveness for the sins that we commit, knowingly or otherwise, whether it be immediately or "down the road." OSAS gives the Christian the peace that GOD's Grace promises without the fear of condemnation since we a justified through Jesus Christ, at the moment of belief. That is the Truth that should be taught, be it over the Internet or - more importantly - by personal behavior. Teaching that one can loose their salvation only instills fear and takes away the peace of GOD's Grace. People forget, when talking about OSAS, the part about obedience to Christ out of gratitude for what He did for us on the Cross. They try to make it out to be required, which makes it a faith plus works salvation instead of a Faith alone salvation. Those who's lives don't show any change, no matter how eventual it may be, are doubtfully saved as salvation always manifests itself in life changes.

  35. Spiderman I think you are having difficulty here because you may be not fully comprehending Gods Power & His ability to do what no man can do,,,,,,what is impossible for man is not impossible for God,,,,,God does not NEED anyone to Save anyone,He uses His willing servants at His Will, because of Hos Plans & Purpose, not out of need or necessity,,,,,,,,,,,,let me give you an example & perhaps it will help,,,,? You know, in part ,the situation in the middle east,,,,,,the islamists do not really have any access to the "media" as we in America do,many (most) of them will never have an opportunity to meet an evangelist, read a Bible or hear a Sermon,,,,they live in a very "closed off" world,,,,,,closed off to outside influence & will not have much or "anything" to do with any people except their own fellow muslims, right? And yet we hear, time & time again ,ex-muslims who have turned to Jesus.....how? By either a dream, vision or some other kind of personal supernatural visitation from Jesus,,,,,,,we hear Testimonies from these individuals & we can only give the Glory,Praise,Honor & Thanksgiving to God Alone,,,,,,,,,God gives every one of His Creation the opportunity, one Way or another to accept Him as Lord & Savior,,,,,,,,to know Jesus, the Way,the Truth & the Life,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, hope that helped

  36. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. This is not an ultimatum but a promise to make Israel a righteous nation under Christ. Since the nation state of Israel is still in unbelief, that is reserved for the Second Coming of Christ in power and great glory. 1. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city Israel has been given 490 years starting from the decree of Cyrus. Of that 483 has elapsed until the crucifixion of Christ (when Messiah was cut off). 2. to finish the transgression This could apply to the desecration of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Antichrist, and be connected to Jerusalem being trodden down of the Gentiles. This will be brought to an end. 3. and to make an end of sins This would apply to the sins of Israel against God. Christ will cause all Jews to mourn, repent and be converted, and finally be saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. That will be the end of Israel’s sins. 4. and to make reconciliation for iniquity Israel’s iniquity against God and Christ has been very great. Repentance on the part of the Jews will ultimately make reconciliation with God possible. Thus Israel – which was judged by God severely -- will be finally reconciled to God. 5. and to bring in everlasting righteousness, Everlasting righteousness in Israel and on earth will only be possible when Christ has destroyed all His enemies, when the Devil, the Beast, and the False Prophet are in Hell, and when a literal Kingdom of God on earth is established by Christ for everlasting peace and righteousness. This can only happen after the Second Coming. 6. and to seal up the vision and prophecy When all visions and prophecies regarding the Second Coming have been fulfilled, they will be “sealed up” or concluded. There will be no further need for them. 7. and to anoint the most Holy We know that there will be a Millennial Temple on earth which will have a Holy Place as well as a Most Holy Place (the Holy of Holies). So this pertains to the establishment of a Temple in Jerusalem under Christ.

  37. I hope this is not to weird or morbid. Jade said she wasn't sure what hers would be but it would be something Biblical. She would like to leave a positive message to unbelievers. So would I. I really can't take credit for this one but I have never heard such a poiniont statement before. It was made by my best friend Katie just before she died of cancer. She made this statement to another friend of mine fighting lung cancer. "The tragedy Isn't in dying but in not being ready to die" I think that pretty much says it all. Since I"m not going to be buried but cremated I won't have a headstone. I love you all and my perfect dream would be we are taken together in the Rapture when ever that is. But if not........ What would your's say and would it speak to someone who is lost and dying without Jesus? Thanks, love RustyAngeL/Faith

  38. I have never much thought about what I wear to church. Anywhere I ever went, I doubt I was the best dressed or the worse dressed person there, nor would I want to be. God looks on the inside, people on the outside, therefore, when we dress up, we dress up for each other, not for God. Otherwise, we would always dress our best, since He see us no matter where we are, not just at church! If we dress our very best, maybe that will make someone feel badly, because they cannot equal your appearance. If you dress very poorly, then you temp people to judge you, thinking you disrespectful, maybe you are just poor or have an underdeveloped sense of fashion. Local custom and culture has something to do with it perhaps, that is why I think it is a good bet, to just aim for the middle, blend in without drawing attention to yourself. If you are not sure, you can always split the difference! James2:2 For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes, 3 and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,” 4 have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives? 5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. 1 Tim 2:9 Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, 10 but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. If you really want to follow a Godly example, you can always wear a garment made of Camel's hair!
