  4. Hi, No servnt learns by only considering what they already believe to be so. Doing that is to suffer cognitive dissonance. It is the Holy Spirit that drives one to take make effort to learn the word and to build up knowledge useable in discerning what is the lead of God the Holy Spirit in serving as a soldier of Yeshua's army to the glory of God the father, as compared to what is instead self deception, or a heresy being taught as Paul spent so much time and energy in his warnings to the churches. of which what is recorded has been inspired by God for the reading by all that will make effort to learn.

  5. Cabins can cost money. I would think you should do little day trips, first, and see how well this works for your health and your parents' comfort. On a long journey, it can be easy to miss a lot of local things at different places. And right near where you are, there could be local things to enjoy, then to sleep comfortably at home with no rush schedule to some next thing One of the greatest goods of travel is to discover people you get to know. But how far do you need to go to do this? You might take a little at a time, about having a dog, too. Enjoy someone else's doggie, help a senior citizen care for his or her or their dog. And how much have you already found out about caring for a dog? You might spend time learning at a shelter, volunteering, or with someone with experience for years, even decades. But trusting God to guide you works best, through Jesus.

  7. Hello @Marilyn C Ok, so is Israel symbolic or literal? Who is Israel @Marilyn C? In the OT God wrestled with Jacob and at the end of the wrestling match God Named Jacob= Israel because Jacob finally surrendered to God and was from that time onwards. transformed , a New man faithful to God. Before that wrestling match with God, Jacob as his name infers was: supplanter,” which is often interpreted as someone who seizes, circumvents, or usurps. He was born in a struggle inside Rebecca's womb with his twin Esau, which pretty much defined how his life of 140 plus years would play out. The name Jacob means "Deceiver" and what is unveiled in Genesis is the life of Jacob and his family filled with issues of deceit and deception, until God wrestled with Jacob and spititualy transformed Jacob into a newman=Israel Embedded within it is a description of Jacobs encounter with an unknown assailant at the ford of the Jabbok (Genesis 32: 22-32). The author uses the tradition of a wrestling match between the hero and his adversary= (The Lord and Jacob) to create a spiritually transforming experience which results in the birth of a new man spititualy and then a nation. Before that Jacob had a dream: Genesis 28:15 God says to Jacob: I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” New King James Version Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” Jacob's Ladder Book of Genesis (chapter 28). …14Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and east and north and south. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. 15Look, I am with you, and I will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” 16When Jacob woke up, he thought, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was unaware of it. So Jacobs name was changed to Israel and then the name of a nation was also called Israel. Because Jacob was faithful, the Lord gave him the special name of Israel, which means “one who prevails with God” or “let God prevail” (Bible Dictionary, “Israel,” 708). Jacob had twelve sons. These sons and their families became known as the twelve tribes of Israel, or Israelites (see Genesis 49:28). Why of the 12 tribes is the tribe of Dan missing from the 144,000 in Revelation ? Where is the lost tribe of Dan? Dan is situated in the area known as the Galilee Panhandle, which is a part of Upper Galilee. Religion of the Dan is based on traditional animist beliefs and practices. The Dan acknowledge a creator God, Zlan, but believe that no one can reach or see him, so instead, they worship du, a spiritual power that is more accessible and resides in every human being. The region they were trying to settle included the area as far north as Joppa and extending south into the Shephelah in the area of Timnah; as a result, the modern state of Israel, as well as some Zionists, refer to the region as Gush Dan (the Dan area). Is the land known as the Galilee Panhandle, which is a part of Upper Galilee considered today as part if Israel?. What Land did God say to Jacob that he would return to? In Genesis 28, Jacob had a very important spiritual experience at a place he named Bethel. At that time, the Lord promised to be with Jacob so that he could return and worship the Lord again in his homeland. What was the name of the homeland of Jacob?=his homeland of Canaan, the Promised Land, which is today known as Israel. What is considered a nation in the Bible? In the biblical narrative, Gentile nations were defined around family or blood, the nation of Israel was defined around covenant. Membership in Israel, with few exceptions (Deuteronomy 23.3), was a biologically open nation in which Gentiles, with receipt of the covenant sign, would become as “natives of the land.” In the NT we see by Pauls writing that we gentiles through Christ Jesus have been grafted in the same olive branch as the Jews. Romans 11:17Romans 11:17, KJV: And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Before going to the next important understanding, I hope the above explains things clearly from what the OT and NT mean by who Israel is. Do you dispute @Marilyn C anything I have written here about who Israel is and where the land that God said to Jacob that he would return to: ie, the land Canaan and where the land of Cannan is located? =Israel ----------------------------------------- Now what what does the New Jerusalem represent? Heaven is represented as both a city and a bride, coming down out of God's heavenly domain and landing on earth, much like the staircase Jacob saw in his dream. John called the city-bride a “new Jerusalem.” It was so marvelous that he could only describe it regarding brilliant stones. Revelation 21 :: NIV. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband In this way, the New Jerusalem represents to Christians the final and everlasting reconciliation of God and his chosen people, "the end of the Christian pilgrimage." As such, the New Jerusalem is a conception of Heaven, who is the bride? Jerusalem or the people of God or both? In Revelation 21, an angel shows John the “bride” and what he sees is the New Jerusalem coming down. Is that Jesus' bride? the church or the saints? Notice that the description of the New Jerusalem as the Bride of the Lamb is followed by descriptions of the saints dwelling in the city, which tells us that this is the future home for the saints to dwell with the Father and Christ. Therefore, the wife of The Lamb og God (i.e., Israel in the Old Testament) and the bride of Christ (i.e., the Church in the New Testament) will both reside in this place together as one, thus becoming the Bride of the Lamb. So Revelation 21-22 refers to the New Jerusalem city as the Bride of the Lamb because it is the place that both Israel and the Church dwell with God in perfect harmony. In that sense, the city personifies the people in the same way that the Old Testament uses Jerusalem to personify Israel or Sodom to personify the ungodly.

  10. Is Faith an outgrowth of mental illness? I've had some say that if I believe in a God I'm nuts, , but then think, thanks, I needed that. And maybe that fanned, or strengthened my flame of belief. Not weakened it. To so many, it is foolishness. To those who believe, trust, hope, it's evidence of scriptural proof. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Yeah, crazy for Jesus!

  18. Don't know if I find concurrence with what appears to be the emphasis in that statement. See https://readingacts.com/2012/04/30/john-1514-17-friends-of-jesus/ ( Perhaps I am an exception) For on a very personal level, I was almost instantly enlightened and turned about by the Holy Spirit. My life to that point had nothing in common with the life of a servant.Certainly not a servant of my Lord and Savior Yeshua. I rejected Yeshua, as I rejected the Father, right up to the moment the Holy Spirit, of whom I knew nothing, said you ( me) are wrong, turn about, do so now. I wanted to debate. was told now no debate, now or never. And with that, I was turned about, pretty much in a twinkling of an eye's time. My gift, among maybe some others, became one of "helps". In that role I was placed so often as a second banana (Pushing on a rope was the way I saw it), in doing what the Holy Spirit had there for me to "help" get done, and then the Holy Spirit moving me on to other places to do it all over again. My own service, my own faith leading? I don't think that was the case. Instead it was in spite of my lack of faith and lack of service. God uses the foolish things.... God has an awesome sense of humor- maybe it is mostly Shakespearean humor; but it sure does get funny along the way! Praise God, his mercy from everlasting to everlasting.

  19. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. The inner working of the mind of Christ will always seem "inflamed to illness" to one of reprobate mind. A sound mind is established in humility. Acts 20: 18 And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, 19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: Philippians 2: 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

  22. Is it okay to be led by the Holy Spirit to study the many heresies explained in the Bible that are put into play by the accuser in order to deceive, and to deceive even the elect if possible? - A rhetorical question. As for me, I want as much knowledge of the fuller word of God to be shared with me as possible for me to absorb in order to confirm that which seems Spirit led within me, especially to be ensured by the word of God the Bible that it is the Holy Spirit and not a deception of my own making nor one by simply a spirit. Knowledge, that not all have, of things like word origin is important! Best available transliteration and actual knowledge of original languages is God given and study learned grand knowledge to have, or at least have scholars that have it that can guide and teach those of us that do not have such time to learn nor ability for that matter. That is one reason not all are the head, and not all are to teach, nor pastor. Reveal of heresies are illustrated and taught to us within the Bible. Reading it with thinking and praying is vital to good stewardship of the gift of salvation given to each that have been called by the Holy Spirit be to turned about from opposing God to worship of him in the name of Yeshua through the Holy Spirit's calling. Learning is both privilege and duty. Praise to God for the opportunity!

  23. "Most rich people do not participate to help the poor" "The Rich's who do not share" Don't understand about why the poor you posted? “About 70% of all charitable giving in the U.S. is given by the wealthy in this country. (Read my post/look it up) America is the most giving of all countries We should not generalize all the rich as unconcerned, and not helping the poor, was/is my point. There are those rich and poor who do not share, and not just the rich. This seems to be an ongoing theme here. Perhaps you can help me understand the purpose to me of this thread, grahampaul. And correct my understanding. I hold no grudge against someone who has worked hard and made a lot of money, rich. Were it not for the rich I would have no business in my cabinet shop. My shop (God's shop) supports our family. I do not lay a guilt trip on anyone to give away their money. It is their money. Rich or poor. I believe most real givers are silent givers that only God knows. Citizens in the united states are among the most generous in the world, according to an evaluation of global survey data. Giving not just their money, but blood, and lives...least we forget.

  27. "The Rich who do not share are the same with the poor who cannot give" In 2011, Americans with earnings in the top 20% of income levels contributed, on average, 1.3% of their income to charity. Those at the bottom 20% donated 3.2% of their cash to charity—more than double of what their more-wealthy counterparts donated. A report from The Chronicle in August 2012 found people who make between $50,000 and $75,000 give an average of 7.6% of their discretionary income to charity, compared to an average of 4.2% for those making $100,000 or more. HOWEVER; “This is not to say that the rich don’t give very substantially to human services foundations,” Berger says. “About 70% of all charitable giving in the U.S. is given by the wealthy in this country. If we didn’t have the rich giving the way they are giving, between 70% and 80% of all charitable giving in the U.S. would disappear overnight. Trashing the wealthy isn’t fair.”

  29. A memorial which the Lord establishes is a reminder to us so that, when times are grim or we find ourselves struggling with doubt, we look upon that memorial and remember His goodness and mercy. The Lord gave such a memorial to me on the day which I thought would be my last on this earth. I fell to the ground and for the first time in my life, I suffered a broken bone; it was a bone in my right hand just below the knuckle of the pinky finger. My hand swelled up like a balloon, and the Lord said that it would be a memorial of how He delivered me with a mighty hand, for my own was broken. Whenever I am weary... whenever I find this life too much bear... or if doubt rises up, I look at my right hand and remember the goodness and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ not just toward me, but toward us all. That knuckle is no longer visible, and I had no desire to have it set properly. It's better that way so I will never forget that day.

  32. You and your parents can stay at cabins and just pack what you need in a car. You can go fairly local for a weekend or so. Traveling is difficult these days with the price of gas. Getting a dog is nice too but I would not recommend a puppy, especially not a high maintenance one. Someone gave my parents a puppy recently and dad gave her to me. She is sweet and cute but sooo much trouble. She has swallowed a couple of moms pills already. If you have a lot of pills and sometimes drop them, a puppy is more likely to get into them and require either vet care or die. You said you are not well enough to travel by yourself. Does that mean you are not well enough to take care of a puppy with all the special needs puppies have? Since I am on your ignore list, Im hoping someone will give you similar advice.

  33. Back when I lived in the mountains, I insulated the plumbing underneath my mother's house with fury. With fury? Yes, fury. First, I dug 12 inches beneath the grade for every line... Second, I wrapped those pipes with clear plastic the entire length, including those 12 inches beneath the grade... Third, I wrapped fiberglass insulation around every one of them... Fourth, I fit foam pipe insulation around every line... Fifth, I descended upon that plumbing with duct tape, wrapping it around the foam pipe insulation... Sixth, I considered adding more duct tape to the job, but figured that would be enough. Finally, I backfilled what I had dug out to ensure those pipes were covered properly. The "fury" had to do with crawling under the house with a hair dryer to thaw frozen pipes. Nope, no way, nay, never again!

  34. NO, it is NOT the same as ADAMS FLESH. Adam was flesh and blood. There will be NO BLOOD in the spiritual body for JESUS IS THE LIFE, and our flesh and bone body will be made in the heavens NOT OF THE DUST OF THE EARTH. (not saying the 'earth' is not made from the heavens though) "For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off." Leviticus 17:14 KJV Where you get the IDEA that I believe the spiritual world is not tangible or without substance AND FORM, I HAVE NO IDEA, but am sure you won't say it again now that you know. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Yet I do agree that DNA is the 'seed' God uses, so we remain in the same IMAGE as we had, have and will have. FLESH AND BLOOD can not inherit...iow, NOT LIKE ADAM. We will be like the angels in HEAVEN iow NOT LIKE ADAM. What is 'strange' flesh to us now, won't be then. "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;" Hebrews 2:14 KJV As for 'dead flesh' resurrecting...into a 'glorified' body I think these should clear up those thoughts "And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days." Numbers 19:16 KJV "And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel?" Numbers 9:7 KJV "Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;" Leviticus 21:11 KJV "He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days." Numbers 19:11 KJV 13Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." Galatians 5:17 KJV

  35. People who DON'T AGREE WITH YOU don't necessarily need to get a better understanding of the words. They just DON'T AGREE WITH YOU. I have a VERY good understanding of the words and how they change ACCORDING TO CONTEXT or precept on precept....So It is not that I am 'not thinking straight', it is that I AM NOT THINKING like you., I follow the Holy Spirit's leading and guiding in the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, while you stick with the letter, the grammar, the word definitions of the letter, for what you follow, So AGAIN, WE approach 'what is written' in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY manner. I go by precept on precept, precept on precept...., and allow the Spirit of Truth to guide me and help build upon the foundation, while You, use word 'definitions' and dissection of the letter and follow those beliefs. So it is impossible for us to agree. I use the definitions to help give more clarity to the CONTEXT, not the other way around. That is why I understand 1Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. Which is why I do my best to NEVER make those kinds of statements that you have already made twice on just this one page...Wow

  40. Hi VA, Yes you are right. I should have qualified as `2 scriptures to the Body of Christ.` However I do see that you believe those other 2 scriptures refer to the Body of Christ. Thank you for writing your reasons. You may want to think on these - So...Rev. 19: 7 & 8, the `wife.` Israel is the only symbolic wife of the Lord. (Isa. 54: 5 & 6) The Body of Christ is in heaven at that time, which is the end of the trib. Matt. 22: 11 - 13 reveals that the symbolic marriage union takes place on the earth, as someone comes into the celebration without a `wedding garment.` This refers to the nation of Israel waiting for their Messiah. Rev. 21: 2 & 3. Note the `Tabernacle ` is WITH the people. It is NOT the people. Whereas the Body of Christ IS the `dwelling place.` Rev. 21: 9 - 14. I agree that the 12 tribes of Israel, and the 12 Apostles are mentioned. Then you say - `Therefore, the NJ, the bride, is comprised of all His people, both old covenant and new (which, of course, includes the ekklesia/church).` Now I can see your reasoning, however, that is not scriptural. The Body of Christ was never promised the NJ, only the OT saints & the 12 Apostles were promised that. (Heb. 11: 16, Matt. 19: 28) The Body of Christ is promised to sit with the Lord on His throne in the highest. (Rev 3: 21) Finally, you say that (symbolically) the woman, (NJ) represents all of God`s people. So, why did God make 3 groups? - The Body of Christ - Ekklesia, called out of Israel and the nations. The Nation of Israel - Ekklesia, called out of the nations. The Nations - of the earth. Why are there nations outside the NJ? Why does the Body of Christ come down OUT of heaven FROM God, making the Lord`s own throne lower than - - lower than where Lucifer had his throne, - lower than the angels, - lower than where Satan is now ruling, (if you think the NJ is on the earth) - lower than where the Father appointed Him - `far above all. ` (Eph. 1: 21 - 23)

  42. Possibly they feared only for the sake of their own lives. And God knew what would happen if the Jews mixed with them. And knowing all that God knew, He ordered them to kill all. God also knew how stupid and disobedient the Jews could be; so possibly He knew how mixing with those Gentiles could make things even much worse. I notice how they had a covenant with Israel, but they served as slaves cutting wood; they did not share as equals like Ruth who married Boaz. Ruth was proven to be godly and faithful in how she feared the LORD. But they were merely crafty to avoid getting killed. So . . . their way of fearing was very inferior and only about themselves. What should get our attention is, that the Jews did not make sure with God about what to do. Instead they judged by the appearance put on by those false ambassadors. What perhaps we should get out of this, then, is how God wants us to make sure with Him about what He wants us to do, and do not evaluate things and people by how they are made to look.
