  1. Amen. It does say in 1 Timothy 5:18 that the workman is worthy of his hire. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  2. Yes, indeed I most certainly am. This detailed description, was heard at least twice from the pulpit of two different ministers. Thoughts remind me of the film, The Passion. Thank the good Lord for His love and sacrifice. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  3. It's very likely according to the link posted. And then there's always the lunatic fringe of 'copy cats' as well. Wednesday, a man carrying two full gas cans was arrested on his way into St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  4. And the Illuminati still lurketh...
  5. Had to look this one up, and one source rated a 94 to be in the average intelligence range. Not really knowing for certain, I suppose one could obtain an AA degree? God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  6. Sorry bro, but you may well have placed yourself into the 'odd-man-out' category. One last ( unusual for me anyway ) food item, would have to be calamari. It was ordered at a high end restaurant, and I thought it was just fish when placing the request. Nicely golden battered, with a nice lemon-butter sauce, I was relishing the flavor when a person sitting next to me ( this was a banquet of sorts ) asked, "Do you know what you're eating there?" And my reply was, "I assumed it was fish." It was then that I got duly informed, "Oh, no... It's squid!" ( oh dear! ) And further went on to learn calamari was considered to be a 'poor-man's abalone'. So finishing my meal, and trying not to picture in my mind, something that was semi-gelatinous, squishy/stretchy-slimy! Okay, I'm done. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  7. Well, newspaper here in the US, tends to leave an inky and blackish residue on ones fingers here, so it's usually served on plates. Cockles on the other hand, we'll just pass on that, never having seen it on any seafood places on my limited gourmet excursions. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  8. Begging your pardon m'lady, but even with fresh fish & chips, which are eaten on vacations along the central coast here, I enjoy them with a blend of ketchup and cocktail sauce. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  9. They are shellfish, perhaps similar to eating clams and/or oysters? The smell would be what ever is decided it would be smothered in I suppose. ( giggles ) Not sure it's something I would like. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  10. This is apparently true, but a few here on this thread are a bit questionable. Note: This ostrich burger was just a one time experience. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  11. It was also my mom's favorite, rest her sweet soul. So, what was my most odd item eaten? Well, apparently there is an ostrich ranch up in the foothills of the Sierra mountains, not too far from home here in the valley. Stopping at a restaurant, I saw ostrich burgers on the menu, so I thought of giving it a try. Yes, you can imagine it does taste like chicken. Apparently, and according to the server, it has almost no fat content at all. Which is no doubt true, because some of the flavor of this burger lacked flavor, and was also a little on the tough side, due to its 99% fat-free status. Doubtful if I'd go for it again, but that's as brave as it gets! Can you imagine the drumsticks on one of these things? haha! God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  12. Interesting topic, sugarbear. I've been on both sides of the coin so to speak, having parents whose churches taught against eternal security. Later on, joined a church for a couple of years that did teach in favor of it. And would like to still adhere to it, however the pastor of the church I had been attending says, "I don't believe in eternal security, but I also don't believe in eternal in-security." There's a lot of rascals in this church, so perhaps if this teaching were high on the preaching's agenda, the pastor is concerned for the wayward to take it for license. And I can see the point of his reasoning, in that respect. I also admire the admonishment of taking this topic with all due civility towards one another. Thank you for that also. So, I will hang in there for the duration. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  13. I'm just trying to imagine the size these oysters are going to have to be.
  14. Perhaps you're referring to 1 Timothy 2:12 where the Apostle Paul says woman should not teach but keep silent? This is often taken out of context, and made for some difficulties for them in some churches. It simply means that women shouldn't take authority of that over a man. Of course they have a place in the body of Christ, and can indeed teach. Women such as Phoebe in Romans 16:1 served as basically a deaconess, So they are important. I hope this is a help to your question. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  15. I just gotta love your enthusiasm brother. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  16. Those are the cases that have been cause for some concern of the validity of their experience. And Abby-Joy is absolutely correct, in the fact that there is a satanic counterfeit to everything that is of God. Her experience surely seems to be genuine to me. Thanks for sharing it, sister. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  17. Perhaps in some cases, this could be true. Some have testified of some pretty odd and bizarre outlandish things, that one would think are not according to what little we know about heavenly descriptions. Then again, having not had a near death experience, I could be totally wrong. I'd like to think it might have happened to some, for their benefit of coming to Christ. Having read a number of peoples experiences, have caused some doubts and concerns of course, but it would be nice to think that it certainly could be possible. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  18. I'd have to agree totally with Jade, about the cathedral being a real loss. Regardless the fact of it's establishment from the origins of Catholic faith, still all the artistry of it's structure, works of art, and also the stain glass windows, re-building something 800+ years old will be next to impossible. Just tragic I think. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  19. I was always of the understanding that it was this: Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. KJV Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  20. Would you care to expound a little bit on why you find them to be offensive?
  21. This may be a bit out of context, but the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 3:2 did recommend one wife for those in church leadership. I'm not really sure where the practice of monogamy came into being for the early church body of believers though. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  22. Okay well, without bringing up other's quotes to drive their opinions home, perhaps some personal experiences with that of Yoga. I'll be brief as possible, and straight to the point, as well can be. As a few have pointed out the benefits of physical movements and stretching into positioning as beneficial, there is an aspect of mentally mystical mind set, when it comes to Yoga. At certain points, one is asked to inhale purity, while also then exhale the negative. These would be any bad 'vibes' etc. Sitting in positions of perfect spinal alignment, also brings points of symbolism of the individuals inner body connections. Much visualizations are placed into all these. Then there's meditation to clear the mind. Also strongly stressed. Find the inner peace and bliss, by thinking of 'nothingness'. Time varies from about 20-60 minutes. Am I making some sense so far? So much of this is far and above that of Christian practices, and even if one can opt out of the 'mystical' aspect of it, should we open our minds, bodies, and ourselves for probable occult bondage? Sorry for my opinions, but Yoga was just some of part of my past experiences of occultism, before I fully surrendered my life to Christ. This was back in the days, long before the New Age, which is new packaging over the Age of Aquarius. A big movement in the 60's - 70's. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  23. A good point, and very well made. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  24. If it isn't, it will certainly be the center of OUR universe by then. God bless! Shalom, David/BeauJangles
  25. That is truly golden, turtletwo. Really inspirational. Perhaps these verses come to mind: Psalms 141:3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door to my lips. James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is in vain. Shalom, David/BeauJangles
