  1. And a big thank you to you Ayin Jade for your worthy post, loved it, isn't our God fantastic the way He orchestrates things? To God be the Glory, great things He has done.... God bless.
  2. Well Beau, I don't think so, it just sounds "nuts" to me, just saying, lol.
  3. Hi Jayne, thank you for that testimony, being a Gideon myself, it is always good to get these "returns" (testimonies) so that just like you and your church have, bring encouragement so that more people can be encouraged in their walk, God bless.
  4. Hi Lois, good advice given above, what you have witnessed certainly is NOT God edifying. What you are describing seems to be another sad state of where "christians" are at right now, it's almost as if it's a "drive through" church, oh , and take the emblems on your way thru the check out, how sad. We celebrate The Lord's Supper every week at our assembly, and the other 6 days my wife and I celebrate it in our morning prayer time together, before the busyness of the day "raises its head." By the way, that's just where we're at in our walk, just saying, God bless as you look for a good fellowship.
  5. Dearest Muffet, this was the portion I was referring to, sorry if I offended, God bless.
  6. Muffet, your first sentence is correct, but your "Bible" quote is not, when quoting the Bible we must make sure it's correct , (word for word) so that others, who may be young in The Lord, don't get confused and go down a wrong path. Love you sis, just wanted to point out the mis-quote, God bless.
  7. Who me, if you are referring to Jostler (Jester) there are times when I think you're right, for some times he does "jest." lol
  8. In my understanding, we need not just focus on the finances when we are looking at tithing. We need to invest our time and that which God, by the power of His Spirit, has invested in us. On this very WCF, is an instance of us "sowing into The Kingdom." There are increasing amount of "newbies" coming onto the forum who are looking for answers to their questions, are we going to help them understand more of what it means to be a christian in these days in which we live, or are we going to say, "be warmed, be filled, and have a nice day." My thoughts, just saying, hope this is helpful, God bless.
  9. Hi there Kev, some worthy responses to your questions so far. Jostler has pretty much unearthed the reality so many "christians" don't get past the "surface stuff" that real relationships are made of. You see, so many people have been "hurt " in their pasts and are understandably reluctant to be put in that position again. What it takes is people who have been "set free" from their pasts, what I would term the "old man" having died to the flesh, knowing who they are in Christ, set free to be who they are in Christ, and love to share their freedom by being open to speak about their "walk with The Lord" with others. My suggestion to you would be to re-evaluate where you worship, and seek a God loving, God worshipping christian fellowship, where you and your bride can grow in your renewed relationship with Jesus. Remember, it needs to start with you and your wife, in the privacy of your home, as my wife and I do every morning, before the busyness of the day overtakes you, spend time in prayer together,. and individual reading of The Word, asking God, by the Power of The Holy Spirit, to reveal more of His character to you both. Then, as you step out the door, you will be more confident to face all that the day reveals, hoping this answers some of your queries, and as always, God bless.
  10. Hi there to you NotJohn, so, if you're not John, I hope you're not confused, (lol), enjoy your time here, God bless.
  11. Hi Kevin and welcome to WCF, Willa has given sound advice and I have nothing else to add, God bless.
  12. What I like and believe to be the case, Instead of" Head Knowledge and Heart Knowledge," rather, "Head Knowledge and Heart Revelation," has a better "ring" to it in my understanding, just saying, God bless. To some, this may seem to be pedantic, just my thoughts.
  13. "Oh what a wonderful, wonderful day, day I will never forget, after I'd wandered in darkness away, Jesus my Saviour I met. Oh what a tender, compassionate friend, He met the need of my heart, shadows dispelling, with joy I am telling, He made all the darkness depart." Heaven came down and Glory filled my soul, when at the Cross, my Saviour made me whole. My sins were washed away(washed away) and my night was turned to day, heaven came down and Glory filled my soul. "Now I've a hope that will surely endure, after the passing of time, I have a future in heaven for sure, there in those mansions sublime. And it's because of that wonderful day, when at the Cross I believed, riches eternal and blessings supernal, from His precious hands I received." Heaven came down....
  14. Welcome to the forum, maybe you can tell us a little about yourself that would give us a better understanding where we can help unravel the issue/s, God bless.
  15. Hi there to you Deborah, hoping that I can clarify the situation with Rahab as I understand it, thanks. It was because Rahab believed that the Israelites were going to overcome the city, that she went "out on a limb" and helped the spies escape. The result of that was that the spies told her, in order that your family is not massacred with the rest of the city, she had to follow their instructions. Having done what was required of her, she and her household were saved from death, but not from the eternal judgement. As always, I hope this was helpful, God bless.
  16. Hi Dennis1209, a hymn has already been penned, J.H. Sammis, though I don't know how long ago. FYI, in the event you were not aware. It's in the Redemption Hymnal, no 477. 1st verse says, " When we walk with The Lord, in the light of His love, what glory He sheds on our way, while we do His good will, He abides with us still, and to all who will trust and obey." CH. 'Trust and obey, for there's NO other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." God bless.
  17. Hey there Cantankerous, you have asked the question," What is it to trust Jesus," simply this," Trust and Obey, for there's no other way, to be Happy in Jesus, but to TRUST and OBEY." It's a walk of (faith), not what we can see tangibly, (in front of us), but in knowing what God requires of us, and just doing it, always making Right Choices, in everything, Amen. As always, I hope this is helpful, God bless.
  18. Hi there Diane32, as you say, it is easier to look upon others and be judgemental, with a lack of love and grace. The scripture comes to mind about the mote and the log in your eyes. There is so much we get wrong with our theology etc. I personally get encouraged when I remember the words of this chorus. "When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the Victory." Here's another, "It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus, life's trials seem so small, when we see Christ. One look on His dear face, ALL sorrow will erase, so bravely run the race, till we see Christ." Amen, God bless.
  19. Hi there K.G. and welcome to the forum, it is good to have zeal for God, it is better if we have knowledge to go with it too. As others have said already, let your life be the witness, but don't back away from sharing your new found faith in Jesus, God bless. Proverbs 19:2.
  20. My dear brother Douge, while I believe your heart is right, your reasoning, I'm afraid to say, isn't. As has been posted above, there is only ONE gospel. We're all going to have differences this side of Glory, no mistake. You just can't go about speaking what you think is truth, God saves completely all who come to Him in humility of heart. Even as Paul went about preaching, he said to some, "what have you believed," to which they replied," we've not heard anything about the baptism, but only believing in the Lord Jesus Christ." Are they lost, no way, and they went on into a newness in faith. Thank you for your zeal, it is encouraging, and continue to be blessed as we walk on this journey together, no mistake. As always, I hope this helps, God bless.
  21. Like Takoda, I've been there, done that, and really there are no winners there, but deep regret, sadness, emptiness, yes, anger, but mostly loneliness. As with Takoda, though not as long, my wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary earlier this year, PTL.
  22. You're more than welcome brother, God bless.
  23. Thank you Gordon for getting back to me. I hope you see my confusion in the way you wrote the statement was not clear, but I now understand. Have you gone back to that reply to see the error?
