the use of social media and playing games on mobiles etc is highly addictive, so you are not being rude those unable to put their phones down are the ones being rude. Should you have spoke at that bible study? I wasn't there so it is easy for me to say yes you should, but as Michael has said if you found there behaviour distracting you are entitled to speak to that person.. If you are leading a bible study, make it clear that it is bibles only, all phones to be switched off.

Sorry but I and the bible disagree with your idea. Jesus said if you Love Me, you will obey my commands. The ten commandments were given by Jesus. How do we know what sin is if we do not have the 10C/ How do we know what behaviour pleases God with out the 10C? Oh I agree that our keeping of them gains us nothing. But those who ignore them end up not knowing what Gods will is for them. ( God does not repeatedly tell us what he has already taught us, so to ignore the 10C means we ae living life without any guidance. )

Be an evangelical Christian and ask her what does she me by 'witchy stuff'? Ask what evidence does she have for her believes? Challenger her to look at the evidence for Jesus, his crucifixion, burial and resurrection.
-
May I suggest that you read Lee Stobels 'The Case for Christ' and ask her what does she believe? What evidence is there for her belief? You can then talk to her about the factual evidence for Jesus, his death, burial and resurrection. If she is interested take her to church with you, or find a church doing the Christianity explorded course and take her to that.

What makes humans different from all the rest
Who me replied to briankboyce's topic in Christian Culture
There ar4 two reasons why belief in aliens/ufo's is nonsense. 1/ There is no hiding in space. against the absolute cold of space any energy emissions of heat and electronics would be very easily spotted. Like turning a spotlight on in a pitch black night, one is highly visible. 2/ Why would any et capable of getting around the fact that the light, heat and electronic emissions from there spaceship, be interested in earth? Its like the American navy operating during ww2 in the pacific islands, they had no interest in the islanders, they were there, used as labour but of no other use. We are the stoneage islanders, so why are ufo's and there inhabitants interested in us? They are not real, just demons deluding the gullible. -

Rest of what? Aliens, animal, other humans. There are no aliens, they are demonic manifestations. Animals, well there it is because we are made in the mage of God and your arguments follow from that. Other humans, we are all unique, made in Gods image, but are fallen sinful beings in need of a saviour. There are differences in intelligence, wealth etc but we are all human, there are no others. -
you are not expressing yourself clearly.

yes the dead cannot sin as they no longer live, but they do face judgement! Where you are being unclear is you are not finishing your thoughts of with words. You say the dead are free from sin. Yes they are free from sin because they no longer live. What I think you mean is, those who have died with Jesus, those who are in fact are Christian.
-
According to you sinner, being dead to sin, cannot sin! that is a contradiction. No faith has no power, it is useless. The only thing that gives faith power is the one in whom that faith is put, that is Jesus.

How can we define the great falling away
Who me replied to Mike Mclees's topic in General Discussion
the norm for Christians is to meet together with other Christians, whether that is in a church building, part of an organisation or meeting in a house or hall doesn't matter. I was referring to the number of seats in a local church compared to how many people live around it. example in the church I attend we can seat two hundred people, yet there are 10,000 people living in the area around us. Great falling away, has been happening for a long time. -
How can we define the great falling away
Who me replied to Mike Mclees's topic in General Discussion
you mean you are not aare of the growing hostility and rejection of Christianity in society? Count the number of seats in your church, now cout how many houses in the square mile around it. Is your church running multiple services on a Sunday to fit people in or are there empty seats? -
Jesus knows the depths of our depravity, yet he still died and rose again to save us. He knows how frail we are, how prone to wander and he still loves us. God pointed out that the ritual offering of sacrifices, the performance of rites and rituals is pointless if the heart does not love God. Yes we are fallen sinners, saved by grace and it is our knowledge of who/what we are that keeps us ever at the cross for the forgiveness of our repeated sins.

what is the point of "waiting for marriage"
Who me replied to Kenzie's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Missing out on what? Guilt of having casual sex, the fear will I get pregnant, the fear of sexual transmitted diseases. There is nothing in the bible that says obedience to Gods law is easy. Hold on to the highest standards, don't be mislead by the lies told by those seeking to destroy marriage. -
We are human, full of contrary emotions, so yes one cane be totally terrified when stepping out in faith. Perfect love casts out fear, but our love is far from perfect. Grit your teeth and trust God.

See Rev 7:9 which say I saw a multitude that was too great to count standing before the throne.

Does God Still Give Believers Personal Promises?
Who me replied to Open7's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
God is sovereign and can do what he wants. I really think the question is. Does God need to give/make personal promises to people? What I think often happens is that God will guide some people into choices they might not have made, to become his servants in some area. This happens to those who are seeking to serve God. That is, if one never attends church, or does nothing n Church one is not listening or seeking to serve God and so he won't speak. The Christian norm is to be involved in ones local church. -
No he should not take it. Money isn't everything, he is removing himself from his family for extensive periods, depriving his wife and children of his presence, wisdom and leadership, he is also limiting his avalability to attend or serve in church.

What does God have planned for the future for us?
Who me replied to Steveo34's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
That depends what you mean by " safe ", if you mean we will end in heaven then I agree with you, if you mean safe here in this life then not only do I disagree with you but I consider your theology very suspect. No where are we promised a safe life, Jesus told us we can expect to be treated as he was. We live in the West where the tradition of Christian morality has gone and those who are visible about there Christianity can expect hostility. -
Is there something wrong with this hatred
Who me replied to F_Ivan's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Why are you even interested in demons and there fate? Concentrate on serving God and pay no attention to demons etc. -
What does God have planned for the future for us?
Who me replied to Steveo34's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
What we ' feel ' is totally irrelevant. Our future is not determined by how or what we ' feel ' ! Our task, our Duty our Command we have to obey is to live for Jesus no matter what our circumstances may be. As Christians we know that God is in control, even when our life is in totally chaos, we can trust God for ultimately we have a place with him in heaven. -
You are putting the cart before the horse. You don't have a girlfriend and you are imaging problems in a relationship that does not yet exist. Two suggestions. One is to develop financial skills, a counting for what you spend, find out how to buy a used car, check the reliability of salesmen etc etc. Second surfing your courtship see how she deals with buying expensive items and generally handle money. Untill you have a girlfriend, don't worry about it.

So to use an illustration: As an employee of mircosoft you have been used to Bill Gates ringing you to tell you to be at work on time, or to talk to you about the project you are working on. God speaks through his word to everyone who is listening. in his word he tells us to test every message that does not come from the bible and to check those messages that do come from the bible. You want to grow in your relationship with God? May I suggest that you search for the hymn, ' I asked the Lord that I might grow' and read it carefully as it gives an interesting example of how Paul grew in his relationship with God. link:- https://sovereigngracemusic.org/music/songs/i-asked-the-lord-that-i-might-grow/
