  1. This is a verse without a context so it is pretext for error. Read the rest of the passage, it is all about God haters and there evil ways, there is no mention of the Godly. So the conclusion drawn are not valid.
  2. Your title and content have no relationship to each other.
  3. According to wiki it isxacbiblical critism term for Lev 17-26, because of the repeated use of the term holy.
  4. Well done, you are aware of how Billy Graham and recently a politician avoided any possibility of sexual misconduct? They would not be alone in a room with a closed door with any woman who was not his wife. He would not give women lifts if he was alone with them in the car, he was totally honest about his movements, there were no unexpected buisiness deal/meetings making him late. Thecpoint about that Corinthians 10 verse is the way out is there, but you/ I have to want to take it, it doesn't magically save us,see have to make the effort to take it.
  5. I would rather be in lockdown than be part of Noahs crew. 4 men and 4 women and several thousand animals to feed and water. Even with all the ideas AiG suggests it would have been a had life.

    G-d

While it is a mark of respect, it is pointless. Jesus taught s to call the Almighty, Holy, Creator God as Da Da. ( Abba ) The closeness of this takes into a relationship that those using G-d clearly don't know or understand.
  7. . All statue and picture destruction shows a blinkered view of history and of how people in the past viewed themselves and others. If they find these images distressing or promoting a false/misleading historical view they should be requesting a poster that provides a corrective view/opinion. Many of these images have a historical and cultural importance to the majority of the population. Also removing these images does not deal with the mental problem of racism.

    SABBATH KEEPING

True, yet we follow a seven day week with a day of rest so why not use that day of rest for the purpose it is intended. That is for the worship of God.
  9. A strange sort of sense as the virus is spread in the vapour in our breath, having X number of people singing their hearts out , does potentially put people at risk. It will be great to be able to meet together for worship but it will be very strange if we cannot sing. It is one of the things I miss.
  10. That is an enormous blessing, as the Bible says " the fool says there is No God! " Just because they cannot see him. They are cut off from knowing who supplies all the good things we enjoy, cut off from being able to express gratitude, from knowing where there morality comes from and worse what they believe, they do not live. Knowing there is a God grounds us in reality.
  11. I suspect in the RCC it is to copy Jesus, which is strange because the apostles were married. Certainly celibacy is a good thing untill one gets married, there is plenty of evidence that backs this up in science and in the stats.
  12. The modern parallel is Mother hears a crash coming into the room, she sees her children huddled behind an item of furniture, it doesn't hide them but they can't see her so she can't see them! Also there is a broken vase on the floor. Mother says, come out, and to the oldest what happend child 1 is wasn't me! Child 2 is wasn't me! More questions reveals a game not allowed in that room did what playing that game to happed. Punishment follows for breaking the rules. It still is the same today. Man thinks God cannot see him, because man cannot see God, so he doesn't exist. When confronted with wrong doing, man always blames someone or thing, it is never my fault. Unfortunately without recognition of one's responcibility before God there is no provision for forgiveness and reconciliation.
  13. Good questions, pity I don't have the answer. All I can do is say God knows our weaknesses yet he still saved us, still forgives us. As an old puritan once wrote:- If you want extra ordinary experiences of God, enlarge your ordinary devotions. From the parable of the talents, it is not that we succeed, but that we try.
  14. Not me but my last pastor's wife we prayed for her for over twenty years, she was never healed and she knew pain and the indignity of being crippled by osteoarthritis. The example we are given is Paul and the thorn in his flesh that enabled God's grace to be seen in his life.
  15. For a very simple reason, you didn't make it clear that you were referring to the verses you quoted.
  16. Yes he's a bank robber and is only doing his job, or a phone scam operator only doing there job scamming people out of there savings. While I applaud your courage in raising these issues I would also ask whether they get to talking about the gospel?
  17. If you know the answer why don't you supply it. Do you assume everyone knows it. Because if that is true why post at all.
  18. And your evidence that this literally applies to those in heaven is? How do you understand O T prophetic writing? How does O T culture affect how they write. May I suggest talking with your pastor for advice and possible any books on revelation, Isaiah and O T culture. It is a lot quicker than posting on forums.
  19. I always find it interesting that the woman is caught in the very act of adultery, yet there is only a woman being brought for judgement! How was it possible for her to commit adultery by her self? Look at what the law says in lev 20:10 both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death. Where is the man? Jesus knew all this, he wrote in the dust to permit the woman to adjust her dress and to save his own embarrassment. Knowing why this was being done he raised the stakes. Let him who is without sin throw the first stone. The judgement they wanted him to give was unjust and politically motivated to get him into trouble with the Romans. Jesus was able to cut through this teaching about the reality of sin in all our voices.
  20. A brilliant question. And oh how difficult to limit it to one. My Father has to top the list for his encouragement, teaching, example and for being there. I'll end on a challenge. Ever noticed how often Paul thanked God for the encouraging people he was writing to and why he was thanking God. Challenge, how often do we thank God for people in our lives and why do we thank God for them?
  21. And again we are back to not eating. What is it about these ' spiritual ' people with not eating? Jesus was accused of being a glutton and a drunkard because he ate and drank with, oh the horror, with sinners! Ok spell it out in simple English just what do you mean by walking spiritually? Some sort of out of body experience or what!
  22. Jesus made it clear in Luke 9:6 that as we daily seek to follow Him, we are to die to self as we carry out instrument of execution.
  23. Not all Christians should study philosophy in college etc, but they should learn about philosophy through sermons. All preachers, yes All preachers without exception should study philosophy, logic, apologetics along with theology. One of the problems in small town Christianity is an anti intellectualism which downgrades the intelligent promotion of Christianity. We are not in a faith only religeon, but a faith and intellect.
  24. If you want comment please supply a copy of the email, or details of its email address. Or a proactive approach would be to reply asking for information and if none is supplied click on the remove from email list option.
  25. Jesus forgive sins as part of the healing of the man. However the man's salvation would still depend on his acceptance of Jesus as Saviour. It is the same with the sins of the O T saints, the believed but their sins were only forgiven when Jesus paid for them.
