  1. Please talk to your minister. Your desire to protect your unborn baby is perfectly natural. But a small pistoil is no defence against a dog attacking you. You have to identify the threat, a dog leaping up at you or a man jumping out from behind a tree. Pull the gun out from where it is held. Present the gun, ready to fire, fire and hit the atacker. A walking stick or spring relase umberella is already in your hand and can be brought up fo a dog to bite or to keep the dog or other attacker at a distance. This plus either a hi pitched co2 whistle alarm or pepper spray is more affective than a gun in the bottom of your handbag.
  2. I am sorry for your experience as a teenager. The point I'm making is you do not forgive your attacker. All you are required to do is what you have done and that is hand him, the situation, your memories and feelings over to God. God does not expect us to cause serious mental harm by forgiving the unforgiverable. He will deal with those and our feelings etc if we will let him.
  3. Can't help you with explaining Isaiah can only sugest you talk to your minister, or check out the free online commentaries such as:- https://www.biblestudytools.com/isaiah/ https://www.biblegateway.com/resources/matthew-henry/Isaiah https://www.bible-history.com/old-testament/bookofisaiah.html or you visit your local christian book shop and buy one or two.
  4. In many societies the memory is trained to retain information. To become an iman one must memorise the quran. So there is nothing strange with the idea that people remembered the stories Adam, Noah etc etc told and passed them onto Mosses. Sites like answersingenesis and creation.com are worth being familiar with as they are committed to the authority and accuraciy of the bible and seek to explain and defend it. One does not have to be a YEC to read there articles.
  5. Ask at the policestation how often people or babies are bitten in the park or in the surrounding streets. ditto for assults/robberies on mother and babies. Justifiable fears need precautions, but unrealistic fears need to be faced. On a simple practical note, if other dogs do frighten you take a walking stick or umbrella with you. and hold that betwee you and a dog so it can bite the stick/umberella, If its a spring open umberella that would provide a big screen for any dog to worry at.
  6. As should everyone who hurts you. If they don't know then as Luke 17 says one rebukes them and only, only, only when they have said sorry do you forgive them. If they won't, don't or can't then like Jesus on the cross you commit them, the incident and your feelings over to God for him to deal with.
  7. There is only one gospel, that belief in Jesus and the confession of faith saves from the consquences of sin. One does not need to do more than this. If one can do more that is better, we are to witness as best we can. It is not our wise, clever words that saves but God's Spirit useing what we say and how we live to challenge the unbeliever.
  8. Correction Christians only have to forgive when there is repentance and then and only then Must they forgive. Please read luke 17:3+4. Every verse about forgiving is in this context. Think, how does God forgive. God only forgives when there is repentance. Don't be like the pharases and add rules to scripture.
  9. Believe this....... You are Not in a Coma.
  10. You have supplied no information about your cirvumstances so every reply made is based on the assumption that you are fit, active and able. As always your first resort is your local church. As a regular attendee you will be known by others there and you should be able to form friendships with people there. 2nd resort is your place of work, to interact with your work collegues. 3rd resort is your community, neighbours, people you meet regularly at shops, sports centers, resurants, bars etc
  11. Old news. What is worse the science that shows transgender is rubish is also very old. a few links to help https://winteryknight.com/2019/10/08/hundreds-of-young-transgender-people-seeking-help-to-return-to-original-sex/ https://winteryknight.com/2018/09/03/brown-university-suppresses-new-study-showing-transgenderism-is-not-genetic/ https://winteryknight.com/2019/07/30/university-of-louisville-attacks-professor-of-psychiatry-for-disagreeing-with-transgenderism/ All from the same site, one that is worth keeping an eye on a minimum of once a week for science based, i.e. factual, reports articles all with a strong Christian bases.
  12. Lets turn the question round. Do you believe that God is Just? If you do why are you querring his Justice?
  13. If one has an opinion that is different from someone elses opinion and it is critical then it is judgemental. Jesus never told us Not to make a judgement. He told us to make a RIGHT judgement and to be prepared to be judged by what ever standards we use on others. So solong as you are being truthfull and are as gentle and kind in any judgemental comments you make, you are obeying Jesus.
  14. Yes it is a blanket statement, but one that is shown to be accurate by how society is acting. Do a simple survey. How many people can attend a service in your church. Now how many people live in the square mile around your church. Which number is greater? Does society support Christian morality? do films promote chastity, sobriety etc.
  15. And how do the afluenent or the poor react towards God? Do they thank him for there prosperity, do the poor seek him and his blessings. I live and work among both groups and I see no sign of gratitude or even of interest among the afluent and while the poor are willing to talk and discuss religion they are not willing to change there ways.
  16. God doesn't take his grace away. He gives enough grace to do the job.
  17. Thank you for pointing out we are not all as well off as others. My point about being self suficient still applies. It takes courage to trust God when life is hard, as well as faith. In the west faith is not automaticly in God, but in what ever god is being promoted by society.
  18. Who in the west actually trusts in God? We are employed with good salaries, have money in the bank, lots of food in the house. Who actually has to trust God?
  19. Well do you believe that Mothers are vital for the first three years of a childs life? Do you believe that childcare should be illegal for children under three? The wall street journal has evidence that supports the above view, even if they are not calling for it. https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-politicization-of-motherhood-1509144044 and the uk Telegraph has disturbing pictures of the affect of childabuse involving abandoning children in childcare. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/0/two-brains-belong-three-year-olds-one-much-bigger/ Any comments?
  20. I understood you to be saying that the author of the 10 commandments was unclear or unknown.
  21. Let me answer with a story from real life every bit as heart renching as what rewander. A lady, her sister, father were arrest thrown in jail, her father died in jail while she and her sister were sent to a labour camp. There they worked untill the sister died. Shortly afterward she was released. Years later she met a man, one of the guards who had so brutaly abused her and her sister. He had become a Christian and wanted to know if she had forgiven him. Corrie ten Boon had to pray for the grace and ability to forgive the man responsible for the death of her sister. With Gods help she was able to embrace him as a brother. I have no influence over the lives of Christians. I know that if they are Jesus's they will be save no matter how dreadful they are treated. Those who abuse other will ultimatly face Gods judgement. We are responcible for letting people know about Jesus and his offer of forgiveness etc.
  22. You appear to be saying that when a Christian sins, if he dies without having repented he will go to hell. Do you really believe that sins are stronger than Jesuis's Love, which according to Paul nothing can separate us from Jesus love.
  23. That is how both the OT and Jesus sum up the whole law. To Love God and to Love others.
  24. Has he confess to all his adulteries? He is accused of having more than one relationship, so has he come clean to what ever board disciplines ministers in his church. What of his own marriage? If there are no more skeletons waiting to be revealed and if his marriage is sound. I would want to know how he proposes avoiding falling into the same sin. Then in my opinion it would be up to the members to decide whether to accept him back or not.
  25. Does that matter if God has forgiven?
